Although we like our doctor, the experience with his team has been a different story. We've had consistent problems every single month, from prescription delays to scheduling errors, especially related to my husband's bloodwork and semen analysis. Most recently, my husband scheduled an appointment at the Mt. Kisco office, confirmed it with Seth, and yet when he arrived, he was told he wasn't on the schedule. After being "fit in", there was still no bloodwork order in the system, and he ended up waiting over an hour while they tried to fix it. This has happened multiple times due to a clear disconnect between the NY and Mt. Kisco teams. But what's even more troubling is what happened in June. Despite repeatedly informing staff that we were not moving forward with cryopreservation, a nurse (Sylvana) added it to the order anyway--without consent. My husband clearly declined the procedure multiple times, both over the phone and again when he arrived to his SA appointment. Yet the next day, I got a call saying, "the cryofreeze went well." When I expressed concern, Sylvana was dismissive and even blamed us. There was no apology, just defensiveness. A nurse does NOT have the authority to override a patient's decision or consent. This is not a clerical mistake; it is a serious breach of medical ethics. Fertility treatment is already an emotional and stressful journey. These repeated administrative errors, lack of accountability, and at times unprofessional behavior from staff have made it even harder. I've emailed RMA with these concerns and have yet to receive a response. I'm sharing this here in hopes that someone from leadership will finally take this seriously.

You see my appointment was made for the following week, yet I received a phone call from Dr. Seifer on a Saturday afternoon. He called to introduce himself and ask questions for our upcoming appointment in preparation of my complicated history. Dr. Seifer has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is thorough when explaining the process, procedures and expected outcomes. He has a sweet demeanor and is the upmost professional. Patricia O'Neill, Nurse Practioner is a dream come true. She is detail oriented and is understanding of how overwhelming the process can be. She stands by her words when she says she is always available to answer questions and gets the process moving. The office staff and nursing staff was just as amazing - from getting insurance information completed and approved to having blood work done without the feel of the needle! As a RN, I know how important it is to have good, quality care. Regardless of if we become pregnant or not, it doesn't matter. What matters to me is that the person I choose to take care of me makes me feel like they care. And that, that is exactly how I felt when I got off the phone with Dr. Seifer that Saturday afternoon. Walking into the office the first time, coming off of a couple of failed ivf cycles with a previous doctor I was nervous and emotional and a little defeated. Dr. Kofinas examined me and discovered that I had many more fibroids than I had known about and a significant amount of endometriosis that I had not known about at all. He seemed confident that this was the reason I wasn't getting pregnant and we quickly scheduled my surgery to correct these issues. I can't explain the emotion and relief I felt to finally feel like there was a reason for my lack of success and not just "unexplained infertility ", the diagnosis that my previous doctor had given me. I had proceeded with multiple egg retrievals and finally a successful embryo transfer a few months ago! Through the entire process the professionalism and kindness and personalized approach to myself and every patient was exceptional. The confidence and trust I had in Dr Kofinas was truly the most comforting thing through such and emotional process. All of the staff always greeted me with a smile and answered any questions in a way that took away any fear that I'd be fixated on. The surgery office by Wall Street also really makes you feel safe and comfortable, and the surgery staff and anesthesiologists are wonderful. My husband and I struggled with poor genetic quality with the embryos we produced, and Dr. Kofinas recommended trying PRP in my ovaries.
