Did you hear about Hulen Mall catching on fire? I couldn't believe it! I went up there to see how things looked. Everything looked the same, nice and clean with polished floors, new plants and a steady crowd, mostly a younger generation. There were lots of summer sales and a new store called Q. I think, it's the new Forever 21. However, the Second floor had the obvious smell of smoke mixed with a Columbian Coffee scent. They are working hard to get rid of the smell. They have several Hydroxyl Generators throughout the second floor to help ease the smell of smoke. So, shop til you drop then crawl with a subtle scent of smoke! Lol. read more

It's been many moons since I stepped foot in an indoor mall, even longer since being in this one. It's a little nostalgic, since malls were the thing during the 80's when I was growing up. The record stores are long gone, the demographic that they pander to has changed, and sadly the population that visits has obviously decreased a lot as well. We were there a few days before Christmas and there was only a handful of people walking around. We stopped in just to visit since we had just finished dinner at the attached restaurant. There is a handful of closed spots, with a few displaying signs that a new one is coming. A lot of the stores we were used to visiting are gone. The place seems, to me, a bit run down. Musty and a bit dusty. I can see where some items were made more modern and updated, but it still feels like it's aged a lot and not gracefully. For malls, it's a smaller one, it doesn't' carry a wide foot print, nor a very long one. The outside gives it a large appearance, but inside it's tiny. Even with its size, it's a decent mall to visit. read more

I think miniso was not worth it, first of all everything is very over priced and mostly everything was over 20 bucks. second the staff members were very rude they kept giving me and two of my family members very dirty looks when we had asked about something and there were two of the staff members that looked very annoyed at us when we were looking around the store, and when they told us that they were going to close we went to pay and when we did pay and were getting out of the store they slammed the Security grilles like if they were very mad at us. The only thing that was good was the selections but as I said they were very pricey but there were some good items there. read more

Walking into Hulen Mall felt like entering a time portal powered by Auntie Anne's pretzels and the distant echo of 2007 pop hits. I wasn't sure if I was here to shop, to people-watch, or to get mildly lost between a Sunglass Hut and a rogue massage chair kiosk that tried to recruit me like I was joining a secret society. There's a certain charm to a mall that still has both a Build-A-Bear and a Victoria's Secret within 30 feet of each other. It's like childhood and adulthood arm-wrestling in the food court. I wandered past a perfume cloud thick enough to get its own zip code and ended up buying socks I didn't need, snacks I regretted, and confidence I didn't have. It's chaotic. It's weirdly nostalgic. It's Hulen Mall. 4 stars for the experience, minus one star for nearly being tackled by a flying drone toy demo. read more

I was worried it was going to be really really dangerous, but this mall was actually quite beautiful and felt safe while I was there. The palm trees are amazing and truly make the place feeling comfortable. I looked around at every corner and there were quite a lot of shops and eateries, unlike the Irving mall which seemed like it was on its last leg, so to speak. Dillard's n Macy store have huge collection of everything under one roof. Talk about shoes, cloths, makeup , accessories or bedding. U can get it all here. Back to school sale was at all the stores like VAN s , forever 21 n victoria secret opened their doors from 6-8 with a special sale prices even though the rest of the mall closed at 6. A huge food court n clean washrooms are rare to find in crowded malls but here it wasn't a problem. Thanks to regular janitorial service through out the day since we were at the mall from 2-6 ( which is pretty long time) Coin operated massage chairs n other kiosks are open late. Probably till 7 . Finding a parking spot is tiresome. However, when I called mall information I received great instructions on how to quickly get to the specialty store I needed. The mall is by far not in the same leave as Houston malls. After finding what I need; I walked the mall. (Took 5 minutes). Now I didn't hit the bottom because what I saw on from the top level looking down let me know that it wasn't worth going downstairs. I guess the top level set the tone. read more

I have not been to this mall in at least 10 years. It has held up really well. Very clean and forward thinking with trends. Parking everywhere. They have a cool kids play area that also can accommodate a child's party. This mall also has a nursing area. (Way to go! That's how you support your female customers!) In several years of driving past this mall to get to work, I had never visited until recently. So glad I did. The mall has everything- Movie Tavern, Macy's, New York and Co. outlet, and more! Everything is on Hulen, including this mall! Hulen mall is your average mall. This mall has quite a bit of stores but doesn't have some of the main store such as JCPenny. In the mall, there are a few outlet stores, shops and a food court. I like going here for a quick run in, but if I want to really get down and do some real shopping I tend to go elsewhere. Overall, this mall is quiet, well-kept and has quite a bit of shops around the area as well. I'd recommend someone to visit If they need a quick outfit, eyebrow thread or bite to eat. read more

If you considered Ridgmar Mall a pretty girl, then Hulen Mall would be the sensible woman. I don't know what really makes this place so much better. Anywhere you go within the mall it just feels alive. It's a very light and airy place that reminds me of Florida (maybe it's the palm trees that do it). And like KAI S. said, the food court has a fantastic selection (try Opah). Complaint?... It really doesn't have much to do with the mall as it does with the area it's in. Traffic. Seriously, Congested, South Arlington-like traffic. If you find yourself in this area around 4-6 PM on a weekday, then just stay close to the mall and keep yourself busy. And go at your own risk on the weekend, geez. Especially if you are trying to go North, there is no relief anywhere and you will be stuck in some kind of traffic. But once you get past I-20 you're fine. All in all, I guess we can consider ourselves lucky to have two great malls (Ridgmar and Hulen) with two different personalities so close to one another. read more

Hulen mall is probably the nicest mall within a reasonable distance of my home. I like the selection of stores and they have a nice big food court if you're hungry. The parking lot could do with a bit of repair and it can be difficult to navigate out of the place if you need to get onto Hulen Street, but mostly it's fine. They do need a new coat of paint on the arrows at the end of each row. Maybe then people would stop driving against the angles of the parking spaces. Or maybe people are just dicks and would do it anyway, I don't know. But a fresh coat of paint couldn't hurt either way. Not a lot to say since each store would need it's own review if we were going to do this up properly. But this place is about as nice as you'll find in Fort Worth malls. read more

I absolutely love this mall! The kids free play area is so much fun! All the play structures are soft and the floor is extra padded so kids can play safe without getting really hurt. It's always clean and my daughter loves it! They also have a clean family restroom and a separate mother's room/nursing room in the food court. We make a day out of coming to the mall. We'll have lunch in the food court, go play in the kids area, let me daughter shop at either the Disney store or Build-A-Bear and finish off our visit with a cookie from Great American Cookies. Just far enough to from me to not be worth it unless I am in town ... Yet its one of two malls with a Disney store so I do come by here when I need something Disney specific and I need a particular size because the other Disney store near me is an outlet and only seems to have the extreme sizes newborn & kids size 3. My daughter enjoys the play area. which I am torn of giving another star but the fact I have to plan an extra 30 mins in a shopping mall cancels that out. read more

Visiting from out of state and wanted to do some shopping. I know, I know, I should have just traveled the 30-45 min or so to go to Grapevine! But this place wasn't so bad. Certainly bigger than the mall back home! I visited Dillards, Macy's, Godiva, B&BW, VS, and GNC. If I had more time, I would have hit up all the children's stores, too. There is Crazy 8, The Children's Place, Gymboree, and a children's shoe store called Stride Rite? Step rite? The Dillards has three levels! I visited all three, surprisingly, that was the only store I went to where I didn't buy something. It's a two level mall, with the food court being on the second level. Kind of disappointed there wasn't a Cold Stone there. I would have gone into an ice cream coma if there was. But, that was the first time I went into Godiva chocolates, and they have 15% military discount! And the chocolate was great. If I'm ever back in the DFW area, I can't say for sure this is the shopping center/mall I would come back to, as it has most of the basic stuff here, nothing that stands out. This mall is better than ridgmar mall. I am older so I don't care for large crowds and avoid this place as it seems packed all the time unless you go when school is in. The mall works if you are in a pinch for shopping, but if you have the time and ability to visit another mall, I would recommend doing so (not ridgmar). Went for my cousin's grad dinner Lousy service! Ordered a Twisted Lemonade flight. Took the waiter who should never have been out with a party that size, forever to bring it to me. When He got to me to take food orders, I reminded him of my drink. He lies and said the bar was busy!! I'm looking and there were only 2 people at the bar! I go over to the bar and ask. Low and behold my flight is sitting there, watered down. She tries to blame the waiter. I said a server could have brought it over if your noticed it was sitting too long. She made another and they brought it out! After everyone else got their food, a new waitress came over, parts of the orders were missing and I still had no food. She said I'll get the manager. I said just cancel my order. Manager comes out, asking what all was missing. Again, I said cancel, she insisted on comping my meal. I waited, family was packing up to leave. I go to the bar, by this time about 30 minutes had passed hot wings and pizza ..REALLY???. On a very slow, Tuesday!!? Hate to be there on the weekend!! I asked the bartender to check with the manager to see if they were still going to bring my food out. Stood their another 10 minutes bartender ever came back out! Basically Ridgmar Mall except.. .. A little bigger & sexier. And a little more on the "upscale" side definitely. This mall is also lacking in the entertainment attractions department but at least has more pizazz than the aforementioned one. Located in a "hipper" area of FW & sporting a less overall suburban feel, this mall is the preference of most in the area and has somewhat cooler stores than RM. Hulen mall over the years has seen many different cycles. When I first moved to DFW 30 years ago Hulen Mall was growing. It's still changing today, but doesn't seem as busy. Northeast Mall seems slightly busier. Demographics have also changed with more diversity. Hulen Mall is one of Ft. Worths best malls in my opinion. They have just about every store you'd expect to find in a mall, a cool food court, good security, fairly good parking unless of course its around the holidays then it can be rough. For an older mall they have really kept Hulen maintained well, current, hip, and I always shop here when I'm in the area. It seems this mall has less punk kids just hanging out and more serious shoppers of course there will be those strange misunderstood kids in Hot Topic but that can be fun if you enjoy people watching! Yeah... not a great mall. I've been pretty spoiled and grew up in Houston living near Memorial City Mall & the Galleria then moving to Austin and living by the trendy Domain Mall. Nonetheless, this mall lacks quite a bit. There's not much of selection, each store is really small, and the people here are sort of creepy (sorry, if you frequent this mall - I'm not talking about you). The Forever 21 here is soooo tiny! It's the smallest one I've ever been to! Each store doesn't have much and the store selection isn't that great either. I guess I can stop by here if I need a few things but I'm willing to travel a bit further to get a better experience. read more

So it's a mall, and that should tell you the most of what you need to know: take a variety of retail chains, throw them together in some sort of indoor walking environment, and let the buying begin. As malls go, Hulen isn't the biggest or most elaborate one you'll find, doesn't boast a dazzling array of bleeding edge boutiques (if that's even a thing in malls), but it's definitely a clean, well-appointed space with a good number of current shopping options at hand. Let me elaborate from my previous review. I basically know this mall like the back of my hand at this point. It's the most convenient for me, and let's face it. It has so many more stores than Ridgmar. Don't get me wrong, I do miss some of the old things from Hulen Mall. I miss what once was a Starbucks near the main entrance, which is now a "coffee and more". I miss the DQ Julius that shut down early this year. It is true that this is one of the smallest malls in all of Texas, but seriously, this Mall has your only Image in Fort Worth, your only Teavana in Fort Worth, your only Charlotte Russe in Fort Worth, etc. The food court has an array of options, in addition to the Abuelos, BJ's and Red Robbin in front of the mall. With the stores that are mutually at both Ridgmar and here, you will notice something. The Dillards here is much, much, nicer and more updated than Ridgmar's. The Bath and Body Works here is more updated than Ridgmar's. The Victoria Secret here is so much larger and newer than Ridgmar's. The Justice here is much newer and brighter than Ridgmar's. It's just the way it is. The retailers seem to care and put more money into their stores here than their stores at Ridgmar. This mall is the better mall of Fort Worth. Obviously has more stores than Ridgmar, obviously will be around longer than Ridgmar. read more

For shopping purposes, I thereby deem this mall two stars. I give it four for food and voila! Three star average. As a kid, this mall was great. I remembered when it had the Discovery Store, the Disney Store, and the WB Store and that each location was huge. In the '90s, parents were able to take their kids here and let them run loose. The WB store sold every kind of Warner Brothers memorabilia, and I remember being able to get my Animaniacs stuff here (remember that?!). They also sold autographed animation cells. It was très cool. It also had the biggest Sanrio store I had been in and thus where I started a lifelong addiction. I was already addicted to the smell of that place by the time I was seven. The only one that remains is the saddened outter shell of a once-proud Disney store. I remember what seemed like a carpeted hill of plushes of every single Disney character created lead up to a giant television. That fat mouse in Cinderella; the broom in Fantasia. Now it's just a sad little clothing store. I don't go for shopping, I go for the food. There's an awesome gyro place inside that sells them with jalapenos and beer. Really sweet. I don't understand why there's always a line at Panda Express, but I digress. Additionally, I also hit this place up for my Thai tea. They sell them at the yogurt place downstairs.
