As a survivor of childhood trauma, I have actually suffered with chronic pain since I was 17 starting with endometriosis. I put it off for 7 months, yes, until the pain was almost unbearable. I didn't understand how physical therapy would help me as I was already working out on a weekly basis. Lets be honest, did I think the therapy would help me, no. Did I want to go to therapy, no. Did I want another appointment in my schedule, also, no. However, the pain was so bad, I finally listened to my trainer and made an appointment with Shannon. Yes, I was very hesitate on going, but gave it a shot. Shannon and her team were the BEST! Shannon listened to me, understood my concerns and started to work with me. She gave me some exercises, did hands on muscle manipulations, which felt like a massage. She explained everything she was doing before she did it and why she was doing it. Yes, I left there feeling like she beat me up, but in a good way. The pain slowly started going away and I was able to use my arm and shoulder without cringing in pain. Shannon knew I didn't want surgery and gave me the tools to calm a flare up down.
