The first "cavity" that was recommended to be filled, was what I had been told by two previous dentists, a superficial indentation that I was born with. I gave approval to have that filled as I suspected the others were wrong or something had changed. The second "cavity" was filled in a follow up visit. As soon as the anesthesia wore off, I experienced immense and sharp pain from where the Dr. McGinnis drilled. I researched online hoping this was typical and would wear off. After three weeks, of not being able to chew or put any pressure on the left side of my mouth, I returned to Dr. McGinnis and explained the issue. Dr. McGinnis applied local anesthesia to the area, inspected the location with a mirror and said that the pain would wear off. I suggested again that I had waited three weeks and she applied a cold test to the anesthetized area. I explained that I felt a light pain, and she stated that I had nothing wrong and that test proved it. At that point, I calmly pushed for another kind of test and an x-ray was taken. Finally, she admitted that there was an abnormality and stated that I needed a root canal now. Throughout the process, Dr. McGinnis was prideful, raised her voice, and refused to refund me for either: A) services that did not need to be completed due to her initial misdiagnosis, or B) services that actually caused my new and severe pain by drilling too close to my root. If one simply needs a cleaning, the cleaning staff is very welcoming. If anything else is required, find another provider. Hands down the worst experience I've had with a dental provider. I'm all for supporting local providers, but this is not worth the risk.

Nicole never returned my calls, and honestly, I don't think she's good at her job or cares much. From the start, I made it clear that no treatment should be done without prior authorization from my insurances. On the day of my appointment, I was told they were doing something I hadn't authorized and my insurance didn't cover, so that was scrapped. We moved on to a plan they said was covered, and I spent hours there getting two crowns replaced--the kind made in-office, so you don't have to come back, which I didn't know beforehand. Afterward, they scheduled me for a cleaning the next day, but I canceled because I was still uncomfortable. That same day, I saw a charge hit my bank for a service I didn't sign for and was supposed to be canceled, with no out-of-pocket cost to me. I received my EOB in the mail for service rendered from my insurance stating that they were not covering the service. I panicked and called; Nicole said she'd submit it to my secondary insurance--but what if I didn't have one? I also noticed the EOB listed scaling/cleaning, which I didn't receive. Nicole said she'd remove it, but then resubmitted it to my secondary insurance after I'd already told her I didn't get my teeth cleaned. Now, months later, I'm still waiting on my refund from July 30th. Where is my refund?

I was upset that I had the root canal and before I left, I was asked for a $250 co-pay. They were lucky I had it. The lady told me when I called to question it that if I had read the paperwork I signed, I would have seen there was a copay. The "paperwork" was on a tablet and the wifi shut down three time while I was filling it out and had to start from scratch so again, I guess I can say my fault but a simple heads up would have been appreciated. Then I started getting bills for the remainder of the payment which again I had no idea about. The tooth really wasn't that important. I made a payment arrangement and the payments are automatically taken out of my bank monthly. I am still getting demanding statements saying payment due now or face collections and must pay within 30 days to avoid further action. I'm on a payment arrangement!!! What more do you want?? It's just bad customer service. The harassment isnt necessary.

However, they advised me via their text message system, that they "VERIFIED" my dental insurance and that my Copay was $72 (see pic). This was for x-rays, cleaning, and checkup. After paying the copay, I received an additional unplanned follow up bill because they didn't actually verify the cost with the insurance as their text stated. Because they did actually "verify", I am now out an addition cost (see bill pic). I did speak with the staff, and they reduced it by about $40 however the rest could not be resolved, and I am forced to pay. Had they verified and provided the correct cost initially; I would have selected a different Dentist that was in network. If you want good dental care Signature Family Dental is a great choice, just don't trust what they tell your cost will be because they may change it after the fact. This was surprising because their stated policy is a 48-hour cancellation window. For additional context, I had previously declined to sign their policy regarding fees. I did not confirm via text--but I did show up on time for my appointment and received services as scheduled. Despite that, the office communicated that failure to confirm could result in cancellation and a fee, which does not align with their stated policy and doesn't make sense given that the appointment was ultimately kept and used. This creates an uncomfortable situation as a patient: Policies appear inconsistent (24-hour confirmation vs. 48-hour cancellation) Fees are referenced even when no appointment is missed Expectations are not clearly agreed to The clinical care itself was fine, but the administrative and billing approach makes it hard to trust the process. I would not recommend anyone visit this office.
