I highly recommend switching to sugaring. I did hard wax for years and switched to sugaring to see if I would have healthier results. So happy I did! The hair is thinner (when I keep up with it consistently) and the skin is smoother. I want to gatekeep her so badly but book with Denyse! This was my first time getting a sugar wax, my esthetician was Kalyshia. Location was pretty cool, there is a parking lot (pay to park-it is downtown after all lol) it's inside the Cannery. The actual studio was located inside Sola Salons which had a very unique set up. The Sola Salon had many studios which were clearly labeled and you just walk through and find yours. I was in Studio 26 which was set up very cute with a lot of bee decor, it was definitely inviting. As i mentioned before I never got a sugar scrub so i can only compare my experience to waxing(using hard wax) it was less painful than hard wax but I do feel like it doesn't get ALL of the hairs like hard wax does, so ill have to go through with my tweezers when i get home. A tea tree mix was applied after my services which was refreshing! I had a great overall first experience my esthetician was nice, informative and made me comfortable! For my first Brazilian experience, this business gets 10/10, 5 stars, Michelin award, all the things! I originally wanted to schedule for the Roseville location, but based on my availability, I went with an 11:30 time at the Midtown location. I guess my subconscious still thought it was Roseville because I drove to that location, then realized from the reminder text that it was actually booked for Midtown and i knew i wouldn't make it in time. I texted the number that sent me the reminder and they responded immediately, advising of the need to reschedule me with a different provider at 4:25 instead since it was the only other opening they had today. I accepted and apologized, they responded that it was no problem and I was connected with Vanity for my new appointment time. Going to the location felt odd. Both buildings are location as "Sola Salons" and there is no front desk. You enter to find a bunch of small suites with numbers identifying each space. LuckLuckily, original reminder included the small detail that the studio numbers for Humble Bee are 26 and 29. Again, no "front desk" to check in formally, but they have cushioned benches all along the hallways, so i waited just outside of the studios. I got another text confirming that Vanity was ready to see me, so I walked up to the open studio door (suite 29 in my case) and was greeted by vanity confirming my appt details. She instructs me to strip down my bottom and lay on the waxing table spread butterfly style. Mind you, this is my first time, so I'm a little shy going kind of slow. She gives me some extra details to explain what's going to happen next and kept things very professional. She did her best to keep my mind off of the initial sensations and just starts going for it, which in my opinion was the best approach so I don't over think it or start flinching or anything. I appreciated her speed and care, and loved that she encouraged me to let her know when I needed a break or some space to breathe. She continues to answer all my curious questions while ripping the hair from my cat and provides warnings when she gets to the more sensitive areas. She also added in some small praises and pep talks, which kept me from quitting after the worst part because let me tell you, that "horseshoe" bit was ROUGH (ask your esthie, they'll explain). Even in the silence, I could tell she was focused on doing a good job and giving me a quality wax. About 15 minutes later, we're done and I'm relieved. She cleans up the space while I dress and get my card from my purse (it was an option to pay using the card that was entered when booking the appt, but times are hard and I brought a different card to use instead, so thank God for that option). I added a generous tip of course because for her to treat me in such a respectful and professional manner knowing I'm new and answering all the dumb questions that I, the newbie, asked, she deserved every penny. She provided best after care recommendations as well. There was a special going on where you buy two sessions and get the third one free. I would have liked to know if I could apply today's payment to that offer, but it's all good, I'm still sore from today's session so I'll think on that one a bit more. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better first time. Thank you, Vanity! read more

Vanity took care of me at Humble Bee & she was a joy to chat with throughout the service. Parking was good (through ParkMobile), Sola Salons is always clean and comfortable and the HB suite was also clean and inviting. I had plenty to look at during the service as Vanity kept the conversation going. I happened to book this service through Groupon and I was relieved that their customer service (from booking via text through the actual service the day-of) was stellar, I'm confident they didn't treat me any different than they would have treated someone without a Groupon voucher. When I called to book it went to voicemail, but I was immediately texted by the company and offered slots to book. I thought it was a customer service bot but it wasn't, and she was so helpful!Communication for booking was top notch & I was also offered an earlier slot the day-of due to a cancellation. That worked for me! Vanity's communication was also great, she made sure she understood what I wanted and repeated things back to clarify we were on the same page. She also happened to have a ton of experience where I am going for vacation and happily shared her recommendations when I asked. Couldn't have asked for more! This salon was my first experience with sugaring (having previously tried waxing and laser hair removal). I was fully educated on the benefits of sugaring and pre/post care.
