I was referred to Sleek by a friend. Very easy to book appointment online and select the services I wanted, and even select a staff member. I booked the "Wax Wednesday" Manzilian special and the full back wax (going to Tulum on vacation). I received several automated texts to confirm my appointment two days prior and then a reminder that morning. Anjelica came out and introduced herself and led me to her room. She went over the services I had book, asked if I had been waxed before (yes), and asked if I had any questions. We decided to start with the Manzilian. Everything was as expected: wax in "crockpot" heaters, disposable paper sheets on the table, etc etc. Anjelica was a complete professional the entire time as we shared some light conversation, and for the sensitive areas she had me "breath in, and exhale." So I had been to SWB for total Full Brazilian 4 times, 1st experience with Brit, 2nd and 3rd with Frances, 4th with Lau... I could not recall my first it was painful or not But between my 2nd and 3rd visit I received painful treatment because I saw the wax it was blue color , after a month I tried other place BW midtown to experience different feeling for waxing and It wasn't painful, I saw the wax are different color like brownish. I'm not expert in waxing type material and not promoted other place but I have to be honest, I don't think the esthetician are the problem because after my 2 n 3 tried with Frances, than 4th I tried Lau, I got same feeling painful day after. There was a huge accident blocking the J street exit. I called the studio to give a courtesy call that I was going to be 5 mins late. I did not have to call, I was doing that to provide an update. Jordan, the receptionist said I would have to rebook. I said I was literally down the street, I asked to check in with Kara and she refused to talk to Kara to see if she would still take me. She said I was going to be a no show and to rebook for Monday. I said I am not a no show. I'm sitting outside the studio at 1:32 for a 1:25 appointment and Jordan refused to let me be serviced. I drove 20 mins to come to this appointment and have a concert tonight and now get no service. I have been a loyal client for over 2.5 years and Kara is the best. The esthetician who did my wax was Geena and she was awesome. She was easy to talk to and walked me through what she was doing. She was very nice. I gave them 4 stars because the person at the front desk told me about 50% off my service since it was my first time. Asked me about gratuity and then told me how much my card would be charged. They don't have a Point of Sale system like other places where you can put in the gratuity yourself and have your receipt emailed/ texted to you. I didn't ask for a receipt. When I saw my bank I saw that I wasn't charged what I was told. When I called I was told I would get the discount next time and to remind them. I had a fantastic experience here on Saturday! I had been really needing to get my eyebrows done since moving to Sacramento but was unsure if wanted to do waxing. For the past 5 years I've done threading. I don't have anything against waxing, and I never had a bad experience. I was at the farmer's market and had just gotten an acai bowl from Nektar. I saw Sleek Wax Bar and recalled that my friend had gotten her brows done here and they looked great. I figure they would be booked solid, and went in anyway to check it out. Jordan helped me at the front desk. Turns out there was a cancellation, so they'd be able to fit me in! They could have taken me in right then but I had to eat my acai bowl first. Bria took me back and was very nice. I showed her a picture of the last time my brows were threaded to show her the length and shape I prefer. We chatted about our weekend plans as she waxed my brows and upper lip. I think she did a spectacular job! I personally don't find waxing that painful, so I can't speak to that aspect. I booked my appointment thru Vagaro and selected Melanie Z for Saturday morning. I arrived 45 minutes early as parking can be a challenge in the area especially since there were several outdoor events planned. There was a Farmer's Market in front the business. Waited for Melanie Z to finish with a client. Not too long. It was a pleasure to meet Melanie Z. She's very personable and professional. This was my 2nd time with a smear and peel wax. No double dipping. She wore gloves. I laid on my back the whole time. Temperature was fine. Got done in 15-20 minutes. Painless and quick. Here we are, the day after. If I can give ZERO stars I would. They lack customer service, from Taylor to Natalie. I arrived 10 min early; my appointment was at 1 PM. Natalie was running behind; 8 min. So I asked if I could money in the meter. I spoke to Natalie in the back and she said, sure I can still do your services and be done by 1:30 PM. I leave at 1:09 PM come back at 1:13 PM and was told by Taylor that I can only get one service now. Mind you Taylor said I'd I do leave to put money in the meter and Natalie comes out and I am not back yet I will forfeit my appointment. How ridiculous is that when I am parked across the street and it would have take me 5 min tops. So the employee can be late but we can't take 5 min to add coins to the meter. Natalie has no back bone, I feel sorry for her. She's a puppet with no voice! She may not care to lose a customer but word spreads and where is the principal. A bunch of BS. These two "young" child have no experience in customer service. So many other wax places ours there with superior customer service. read more

Overrated. The first tine I went, great. The second time, today, a teenager in denim shorts seared off my eyebrows, left me with wax burns / abrasions on both sides, and they are not even. These abrasions are still visible 24 hours later. I've attached a photo. Those lines under my brows aren't shadows, they are burns. They don't even wear uniforms or smocks. I think if they're going to charge what they do, and set themselves up as a club, with expert aetheticicians, and a monthly membership, there should be some quality control. In other words, going there is no different or better than picking a waxing place at random. If there a place you already go to and there's a specific person that does a good job, then there's no point in trying this place out. Also, given the variety of quality with their aestheticians, I definitely wouldn't trust them to do any more complicated services. read more

I'm a member here and they do a really great job. The front desk staff is awesome and I always feel comfortable going in. Sometimes as a guy it might be a little uncomfortable for some to come in. It just sucks because they use to have Saturdays and Sunday's available but now it's just Saturday. I had an appointment today (Saturday) at 12:00pm but the lady who was suppose to do my wax was 15 mins late. I had to reschedule because I had another appointment somewhere else at 12:30 but their whole Saturday was booked and since Sunday's are no longer an option I had to book for the following week. Since they reopened due to the shelter in place orders and safety guidelines, I was able to get a wax appointment with Jasmine. She's a great waxer and knows her stuff! We always talk about the latest changes to my skincare routine to see if that's impacting my face wax. Only a handful of waxers are doing face waxes due to COVID concerns, it's very understandable and I appreciate them so much! Jasmine is doing face waxes. You can see who else is when you schedule your appointment on the Vagaro app/website. Sleek wax bar has some safety guidelines set up for their employees and customers. I found the place quite safe. At the front desk, they have bottles of hand sanitizer and labeled cups for used and clean pens. In the rooms, the tables are all covered and sanitized between customers. All of the employees are wearing masks. In addition, there is a limit for customers in the lobby area. FYI, if you're not getting a wax on your face, you must wear a mask. read more

I have been going to Sleek for awhile and had no complaints. My brows have always looked great and my waxer Madison is great! I finally broke down and bought the membership and was excited to use it, but unfortunately I didn't even get a chance to. I arrived downtown to realize, oh crap, the market, I always forget, I should've left a few minutes earlier, my fault, but luckily I found a spot and park and rushed over. Where I'm told, nope sorry, your two minutes past the 5 minute "grace" period for your appointment and can't be seen. Seriously? I understand them needing clients to be on time but I was particularly irritated because the last two times I've been there, on time of course, I've had to wait ten and twenty minutes to be seen. First time doing a full face wax. Haven't been able to let my chin and upper lip grow out long enough to ever get it done. As told by other waxing places, the hairs needed to be at least the length of a grain of rice. DUDE!! That's like the length of my husbands 2 weeks worth of grown facial hair. HA! Luckily for me... It's better for me because of my loud environment (3 kids. One of them mine and 2 I had over for the summer) lol. Booked the appointment for the next morning. Next morning comes. Kids are all dressed and ready to go to my appointment. I forget to tell these guys I'm brining THREE kids with me because I have no sitter. They tell me, "BRING THEM, we have chairs they can sit on. No problem." Guys! That's my BIGGEST thing when making appointments for myself. Hauling my kid (in this case KIDS) around with me for my personal things. I don't have friends or family in the area and my hard working husband is at work when businesses aren't so busy. So this helped me out BIG TIME! Thank you girls! When we got there, the girls were so nice. They didn't only communicate with me, but with the kids also. They definitely made me feel welcomed and at ease. Location is a little crowded. Parking is okay, if the parking lot is full there are metered street parking near the area as well. There are also little coffee shops and cafés you can hangout at while waiting for your appointment. Which is nice. This building itself was really clean and relaxing to be in. The outside looks small, but once you walk into the room, you kind of forget where you are. I did. Lol! Allysa was who I booked my appointment with. I was nervous. She could tell. She made small talk, which was perfectly fine by me. I can write, talking on the other hand is a challenge. My anxiety kicks in and I'm stuttering all over the place smh! Simple questions I can do. That's exactly what Allysa did. She got straight to work. Since it was my first face wax, it hurt. Like SUPER hurt. The kids were in the room and they kept coming to see if I was okay. Allysa didn't mind AT ALL. I kept telling them to sit down and that I was okay, and it didn't bother Allysa at all. She just kept working. A week later, I'm writing this review. Only because I wanted to wait on results. Let's just say, I won't ever go back to shaving my face again. I love the work she did on my face. Like I said, my facial hair can grow within 1-2 days. I'm seeing only like 3-5 THIN hairs growing out, a week later. This is my go to spot from now on. Also, if you sign up for the $25 monthly membership everything is 50% off. I really don't have a bad thing to say, I've been coming here religiously for a few months now and absolutely love it. However, it has been 4days since I got waxed and I'm already starting to see some hairs which means it was ripped off, not getting rid of it from the root. I plucked them and they have roots all right. (my hair doesn't really grow fast for it to come back in a few days. Maybe it does? Maybe not?)
