I was trying out salons before my wedding and came across Humble Bee. They were doing a special to celebrate their first Reno location and figured I'd give it a shot. Love it so much I went from waxes for special occasions, vacations, etc. to a membership! Here's what's great about their service. They have appointments all day. 7AM-9PM some days and weekend spots are plentiful. Booking can be done online, by text, or by phone. You hear back quickly if you text or call. The result with sugar v wax is slightly less painful and lasts longer for me. They give you privacy to undress and have a stool to step onto the table. The decor is cute and cozy with their signature bee theme. My go to providers are April and Emarain. April is chill & super sweet. Love chatting with her. She also has a special talent for coaxing stubborn hairs out. Emarain is a joy. Also love chatting with her. She has a lot of great after care tips. This appointment option was at 7:15 in the morning so I figured I could squeeze it in (shout out to Squeeze In restaurant) before work. Having a Brazilian done first thing in the morning is a sure way to wake up and also a nice way to feel during the day! Brandi did my very first Sugar Brazilian and I am pleased to say the very least! She was very welcoming and friendly, asking every step of the way about my comfort level and if I was okay! Love that April is here until 9PM for all those people that need to come in after work. I got a Brazilian and my underarms done. I've been getting waxed and sugared for years, even lasered. April is by far the gentlest waxer I've ever had. She takes her time and since I get mine shaped, she had no problem asking me if I liked the progress or wanted it changed. I have been wanting to try sugaring for a long time after trying waxing. I went to one of the new ladies in Reno and she did a great job with the actual service. My eyebrows look great. However, when doing my bikini line, her bedside manner and comments about body image were unprofessional, to say the least. Stretch marks are a common thing and don't need to be pointed out or commented on... especially implying that I have had babies before, which I have not... This is not what a young and impressionable 20-year-old wants to hear considering the already high expectations placed on women. read more
