I was so excited to learn that the owner of the previous business still owns this building and has really cool stuff still. These are vintage items, not antiques. I'm vintage. Or so I like to tell my kids since I was "borns in the 1900s." Bruh. *face palm* They had cookies & lemonade for us to enjoy while we perused the multiple small rooms of items. She has some women's clothing, jewelry, tumblers, and so much more. Adorable shop! Very affordable prices! Support local businesses. If the parking is filled up front, there are more spaces around the back. PS - thanks for giving my daughter stickers to put on Mr. Man. Lol. My daughters and I were warmly greeted by two busy employees on May 9, 2026. There were new gift items predominantly in the front surrounding the checkout area. But there is also a vintage (not quite yet antique) room with an entrance slightly behind the registers. Then the rest of the shop has multiple booth spaces of individual sellers. Their items range from new to old. Fashionable to collectible. I really like their jewelry counter, although, I wasn't there to shop for myself. My youngest daughter bought me a beautiful set of earrings from one of the back booths. They are precious! For my mom, I knew she would love a new candle. The Superstar scent ("Calabrian bergamot, white copra, mimosa blossom, rose buds, solar jasmine, davana, cedar, sandalwood, and musk") by Tyler Candle Company smelled amazing. I also bought a jar of Cactus Bloom-made sweet/salty pecans as well as a jar of salsa for her. My future sister-in-law finds jewelry pieces here that she loves, so I know I'll be back.

Getting here is like driving through a life-size version of Ninetendo's Excitebike: the parking lots are filled with huge potholes, speed bumps, and unmarked spots. (Did I just show my age with that analogy?) There is free parking. Once inside, they don't allow large bags due to shoplifting. Some spaces are so tight that I would have hated having an oversized purse. Their vendors have mostly recognizable boundaries, so in the case that an item is (unusually) unmarked you'll be able to ask for the price without too long of a wait. There were quite a few pieces I would consider if I was move-in ready. There were tons of books I'll most likely be purchasing in a few months. Plus some nice jewelry & home decor antiques. Great finds at Nam's with friendly, assistive staff members.

The Filling Station (TFS) Bookstore is inside Chooselife Church in Hobbs, NM…read more There are hardly any other book stores in Hobbs so this was exciting for me to visit - even if said texts were based exclusively on Christianity and faith. I went here on 2.27.2025 with the intention of purchasing a New King James Version (NKJV) Bible. They definitely had some in their cute locker display - actual lockers that open up nicely and were labeled. However, what they had was not quite what I wanted. One was a huge Bible. It was not comfortable to hold. Another had teeny tiny lettering that my 42-year-old eyes could not handle for long. Lol. So after poring over the rest of the book section, I waved over the friendly young lady who welcomed me to check me out. When she realized they didn't have what I wanted, she recommended me to Hobby Lobby. (A "I could've had a V8" moment.) I purchased a book called "The Grace of Healing: Revealing God's Heart to Heal" by Bob Yandian ($29.39). It has been refreshing and helpful for me. Yandian gets straight to the point, but in thoughtful ways. Go check the bookstore out & eat at their cafe even if you don't attend the church. It is swanky cool inside! Music World is one of my favorite small business in Hobbs still!…read more Back on 8.7.2025 I came into purchase my daughter's new trombone cleaning kit. Because she's part of her school's band, they had a special. The discount took off $15.95. The cleaning kit (and a folding music stand included free) came out to $31.99. My other daughter has been taking private guitar lessons in their small practice room since May 2025. We are gracious for their support and so glad they don't get made when her lesson goes a minute or two over time (which is closing time). Huge fan.

They had a wide variety of rare succulents, cacti and some basic house plants. Very unique plant shop as you can pick up full grown cactus to succulent propagation leaves. Have questions about soil or why your current plant is in bad health? Don't worry, they have answers for that. Need to make a custom bag of soil? That's also handled. I picked up some great plants and will be returning to this local shop in the near future.

When my daughter and I walked in, we were immediately greeted by a very nice young lady. The crew was getting their shop ready for their Pink Friday Sale in which one of the owners stated they will have amazing deals and twice the inventory. I'm so coming back for that tomorrow! Afterglow is super unique to Hobbs as they offer the following: + lingerie + skincare products + certified bra fitters + Official Devoted Creations Five Star Diamond Salon + tanning beds + spray tan room + red light therapy bed + loungewear + jewelry + sunglasses & much more! The Workin' Guys Store is located in downtown Hobbs, NM…read more Parking spots were available out front on 2/2/2024. I was greeted right away by a young man behind the counter. Moments later another amiable employee asked me if I needed any help. She guided me towards the girls' jeans section. This store has mostly Western wear and "workin' man" gear. I'm happy to report that there were some good options here - a bit on the pricey side - but because of the friendly service and mostly clean and well-kempt place, I'll return. They're open 7 days a week and accept cash or plastic.
