The restaurant interior is dirty and filthy, with flies roaming the air. They also turned away customers that tried to come in before closing, and then locked us inside. Wow something smelled terrible. The frosties were melty. I'd make a Florida joke about this place, but I don't even want to disrespect Florida to that extent.

The parking lot has ample parking it is in a strip mall with several different businesses and a Chinese restaurant right next-door. The parking is ample for all the businesses. It is easy access right off Main Street. Locking in there were several employees working and they were all quite friendly and very smooth in their performance. I ordered a Subway melt on as a salad and they didn't give me any crazy looks like they do a lot of times and some other subways, they were happy to get out the supplies and start making the salad, all in all three people worked on it, one got out the bowl and the meats and slid it down, the next one put all the stuff in there, the third one chopped it up for me and added dressing, and then the last guy working there rang me up. I was feeling kind of important with everybody helping me like that. So the inside was very clean, they obviously take pride in this establishment. They interestingly had a box of cookies prepared at $4.69 so you could just grab and go which I thought was a good idea. In fact it was such a good idea that the guy behind me grabbed it and went. They have a good selection of bottled drinks, their drink station was very clean, I was super pleased to see that they use plastic bags inside the tea container so that the bacteria that is common in tea containers would not be in there is and as a result the tea tasted really good. The salad was perfect and probably the best salad I've ever had at the subway to be frank. Now I don't come to this town very often but when I do I'm going to make a point of stopping back at the Subway, good job subway!

I shudder to think some of it might have been out since lunch but probably not the case: probably just that I arrived around 6pm and the senior citizens got there at 5pm and snatched up most of it already. As Mr. Bruce remarked back in 2011, the whole place seems a bit dismal, grimy, and needs updating badly. The service however was super friendly and what you'd expect in a small town in the South, no complaints there at all. However the upgrade to three stars despite lingering misgivings is because what they did have out on the buffet was really good: good fried chicken this time around, good slowly-simmered greens, and absolutely excellent cornbread. Plus Watergate salad! You don't see that often anymore anywhere save maybe a church's dinner on the grounds! Watergate salad is a very mid-century Jell-o-based "salad" of, well, Jell-o and marshmallows mostly. You never see it in restaurants so I was delighted it made an appearance here. The potato salad also was really nice. So for that, three stars but they need to ensure plenty of food is set out (I scraped up the last of the greens in example) and the cleanliness and atmosphere does really need some help.

Fortunately there is also a Subway inside of this Walmart, which makes it handy if you also need a sandwich custom made to your liking. There was only one employee running the shop. Business was slow, so not that big a deal. This is Subway, you know what to expect and what you are going to get. Most of us have a sandwich that we get pretty much every time we walk into any of the Subway's strewn across the world, and this was no exception for me. I ordered up my sandwich, and we (myself and the Subway employee) worked our way down the line together to get everything that I wanted on it. She was not exactly the fastest "Sandwich Artist" I have experience, but she was friendly and put the sandwich together properly, and that is all I can ask for. The restaurant was clean, though the layout is a bit cramped on the customer side, with tables and chairs relatively close to the counter that can make for mass confusion if things get even remotely busy. I've seen it in there when it is busy, and when that happens I just keep walking because it is just too painful to deal with.

The food, well there was 4 options, a biscuit, sausage, bacon or egg and gravy as well as chicken, pork chops, tator wedges, corn dogs, maybe a few other things. I asked if they had grits and he said they did but it didn't sell so they discontinued it.The gravy looks hard, not eatable at all, the chicken, porkchops, all that looked over cooked and hard. Not what a customer would want to see, not inviting. The store needed swept and wiped down, filthy. No other customer was there and no one will be unless your starved. Also the guy there had no customer communication. He was slow and clearly knew it sucked. This store mainly serves locals and visitors on the weekend. Either make the food better and have it inviting with better food or even better put a Subway there. You would get way more business. Hire an older person to keep the store clean and fresh and inviting and maybe they can keep the food looking better. Something has to be done, its embarrassing honestly. Id be willing to help out during lotential busy hours to keep the store looking good and food inviting. I want to support my local businesses and see them thrive but I cant eat there again until someone tries to make it better. It would be packed if more effort was put in it.
