Had an amazing first experience at New York Pizza Plus this summer! I am not from this area, so I visited here for lunch on the recommendation of some locals. We stopped on a Thursday in July for lunch on our way into Gainesville. The store is located on the corner of a strip of several businesses. There is a shared parking lot for the strip, but we did not have any trouble finding a spot. The restaurant was healthily busy, but we were seated right away. The inside is cozy, but can accommodate larger groups in the back room. I was in a group of 5, and we all opted to eat at the lunch buffet. Having previously eaten at chain pizza buffets, I did not expect the variety and quality that this buffet offered. In addition to a plethora of pizza and bread options, there were various cold salads (such as chicken, tuna, traditional salad, etc), and hot pasta and Italian dishes. It was an amazing spread! I had to make sure my eyes were not bigger than my stomach, since everything looked so good. I started off with a plate of salads and cold items. I love a traditional salad bar, but my favorite from this was the pesto pasta. Next, I tried some of the hot Italian dishes and pizzas - including the meatballs, hot pasta, and several pizza varieties. I did not have a bite of food that I did not like. It truly all was so wonderful. Not only was the food awesome, but so was the price. For the lunch buffet, it was under $100 for five to eat (cannot recall exact price, but I believe it was around $14 or $15 per person). I do not think you would find a better deal for a better meal in the area than this, for the price. The staff and service were great. My drink was refilled several times, and I noticed the buffet was refilled frequently. No complaints on either front. I could not recommend this place enough! I would encourage everyone to visit for the lunch buffet, it is truly a deal you cannot beat. I can't wait until we're back in the area so I can visit here again! read more

Hadn't eaten here in years. The menu about the same as it used to be. Large number of Italian dishes and pizza to choose from. Or they have the buffet. Had the cedar key clams for an appetizer, very good. Got the steak and cheese sub and gyro. Portions were huge. Service was excellent. We'll be back. read more

Well, it was a beautiful Sunday and we were planning on going. outhere to eat, was looking forward to it the last few days .as I saw that they had a nice salad bar buffet and a pizza buffet we got there early as to beat the crowd after church. We were sat down right away, and we hit the salad bar first as the pizza had not come out yet, was very impressed with the salad bar and the other hot foods and the pizzas when they came out. We did not have to ask to have our water. refilled, once every five minutes or so, somebody was coming by taking an empty plate and refilling. our water, asking us if we enjoyed the food, I told them yes, i can only imagine how good there meals are, they are the same owners as o sole mio in jonesville. Look forward to coming back and trying it again. Maybe for dinner next time, the buffet only runs from 11-3pm every day. It's not a bad drive from gainesville, and it's so worth it!!! Big menu with plenty of Italian dishes to explore. They have a great weekday specials which my colleagues and I get together to go eat when we want a break from the office. Food is good and the portion sizes are good. You get complimentary bread so be sure not to fill up quick. We all got pizza and salads which were good. Went for the lunch buffet after seeing a couple of positive post about it. Got there around 1245 PM, not super busy, we were promptly seated and our drink order taken. Went to the buffet and was visually underwhelmed. Not as visually appealing as the reviews, and my mind, made it out to be. Minimal salad ingredients but did cover most of the basics. Hot food was well, not great but serviceable. Pizza was taken from the "by the slice" pizzas out front and placed on the bar. Other entree features seemed bland, reheated or just leftovers. Not impressed but will give them another try with conventional menu offerings to see how they stack up. All in all can't say I would recommend the lunch buffet. Hopefully made to order items from the menu will increase the rating. read more

I'm ashamed to admit how quickly I ate this pizza. It's hard to find a pizza place that makes -good - pizza. Some places have way too much sauce or too much bread, this is the perfect ratio. I got the original New York, which has a thin crust, but not so thin that it's like a cracker, and it has that nice sandy bottom. Light, not overpowering sauce, and mozzarella. I got it to-go and reheated it in the oven at home and it was amazing. It was a little more expensive than other pizza places but would definitely get again and am interested to try some other items on the menu. read more

He ordered the Roma spinach pizza, and I ordered the lemon Francese pasta, upgrading to the pasta imported from Italy. Both dishes were incredible. The imported pasta was a game-changer, and we even ended up buying some pasta and flour to take home. The quality and flavor of the ingredients were outstanding. The atmosphere felt very homey and small-town, adding to the charm of our dining experience. Our server Turner was phenomenal. The servers were friendly and helpful the moment we walked in the door. You have several options. You can order premade items from the counter, you can order items off the menu or you can sit in the room with the buffet and help yourself. My family did the buffet! Very reasonably priced and quick as we were just passing through town. The manicotti was officially my favorite item on the menu though the bruschetta pizza was fantastic! My daughter enjoyed the meatballs and my son devoured the spaghetti. The pizza was very fresh and cheesy. New food was constantly coming out of the kitchen. The pizza was very good, my only complaint is quantity. You sit around 5-10 minutes while they promise that more pizza is in the oven. They bring out like 4 pizzas, but in reality it's 2-3 slices and 4 types of pizza. They drop it, it's gone within a minute and then you wait another 10-20 minutes hoping they bring more. read more

Tonight my partner and I went the Take-out route. We ordered an XL cheese pizza with a side of fresh basil and an order of garlic rolls. We were told our order should be ready in 20 minutes but it was closer to 40 by the time we got there to pick it up. We drove 5 minutes home and got our movie ready to play and then served our pizza. It was still pretty hot, perfectly cooked, and the basil was super fresh. The garlic rolls were pretty good but I like them with more garlic butter than these had so ask for extra if you like them more buttery. We have also gotten various pasta dishes to go and have never been disappointed. The salads are always fresh and they have a good variety of desserts as well. This place has the BEST pizza we have ever had in Florida and we are pizza coni suers from NJ. We love pizza from NY and this is just like it. All of the food is delicious. One favorite is the Chicken Gorgonzola. They serve garlic rolls that are fantastic. They also have some amazing olive oil and different flavored balsamic. Just ask to sample one and you will be hooked. We are 4 hours from our home but will be back as much as possible for a pizza and Italian food fix. The Stromboli was large enough for two meals Especially when paired with the salad. I have also eaten in house and have had the lunch buffet.
