I have never heard of Hungry Howies before and while driving home I see it in a small shopping Plaza on Royal Palm. So I stopped in and seen what they offered. The place is small inside and clean so I ordered the Meatlover combo "sub" which to me is very similar to a calzone. Stuffed full of pepperoni, ham, sausage and bacon along with mozzarella cheese...oh so delicious! The prices are more than fair you can get two meals out of one order so if you have a family and on a budget I highly recommend this place. EXCELLENT and well deserved 5 star rating. It took about a half hour to make two subs after they told me it would take 15 minutes. I understand that it was dinner time. Guess many people eat pizza for dinner. People were coming and going, all ahead of me. There were five people in the kitchen, but I don't think it was right to promise a time and then take double the time. We were on a tight schedule. I called in the order and I was so happy to find out that my order was ready as soon as I arrive. The new owner Mason has clearly done what the others could not do with this location, offer good food and great service at a fair price. We have worked with Mason before (at his original location) and he truly cares and wants clients to be happy as well as return. First thing you note is just how many calls were coming in on this Friday night. You smell the garlic and everyone behind the counters are moving at quick pace. The business feels different .... and busy ! We ordered several subs which are HUGE and filled with lots of meat. Kids and wife loved them. Two Deluxes and one Chicken Parm. All come with sub sides and their delicious sub sauce. Daddio is being good and got the Chicken Caesar Salad. Lots of Parmesan cheese and plenty of grilled chicken. We tried the new stuffed cheese bread also, and should have grabbed some dips or perhaps added pepperoni. The kids gobbled it up as-is and one son appeared to be adding the sub sauce to his portion. It's almost like a cheese calzone diced into small edible pieces. There were plenty of leftovers and a smaller sandwich would have still been plenty for each. But they are so glad for tomorrow's lunch to finalize their sandwiches and I suspect they planned it from the start. All employees had proper PPE and even saw the pizza delivery guy walking up with mask on in parking lot. It's so nice to see the care and direction in this location. Masks protect others and show a common goal of togetherness. We had not visited in almost a year due to previous owner and lack of management. As a kid I loved this place, somehow I grew out of it, but now that I tried it again I must say it's exceeded my expectations. Their quality is better than I remember it. The crust options is creative although it's not my thing. I clearly remember the cheese tasting really good on this. It didn't scream low quality or cheap or greasy or stingy, but at the same time it didn't yell the opposite either. It was just good, which I'm happy with but I wouldn't call it my favorite pizza ever. It's like the perfect pizza for a kids birthday party or to bring to work. In my case, I found it on groupon which was very satisfying to save money with, but I'd only rush back if I lived within stumbling distance or if they had specials. I may come back though. The groupon came with cheesy bread. I don't hate the player or the game but it's a little confusing, cheesy bread is very close to pizza. It's like ordering soup that comes with chowder, technically different but close enough for confusion. To be fair I wasn't unhappy, and if I ordered a burrito that came with a taco I wouldn't complain either. But if it was garlic rolls, or some other kind of appetizer I think it would've paired a little bit better. Either way I thoroughly enjoyed it and believe me you, none of it went to waste. I honestly think a dipping sauce would go further than flavored crust. (Lets be honest the crust flavor is basically butter with your choice of seasoning on it). I have been in several locations of Hungry Howie's, and this is by far the only one I would never give it more than 3 stars, the reason I'm giving it one star is because of the poor management and very poor training to the employees, this is the story: We order two large pies both with two toppings, first, while on the phone with Rio, it took her a while to identify herself once she got our order, I asked for lite sauce and cheese on both pies, she say 10 minutes, we waited half hour before we went to get our pizza pies, once at the place, there was a guy watching tv and kind of condescending I politely asked for my two pies and tooling a while because the football game on the tv was more important, I was never in a situation and decided to check both pies, and saw what looks like a circle in the center of both pies and there was 3" radios crust and as soon as I saw it I inquired to the person watching tv, that was quick to ask me to pay for the pies, then he called the pizza maker and the employee came and try to make me believe that that's the wait they made their pies, as soon as I said that I wasn't paying for they decided to fill both pies with more topping, I thought they will put them back in the oven, but to my surprise they just added more ham on both , well, my only advice is for any customer to order out of this location, please check your orders before you pay for them! read more

We did order a Deep dish pizza but the waiter said we don't make those pizza nor thick or hand toss! Its thin crust in which you say that to a NEW YORKER and they get PO! New Yorker are SUPPER fussy and they DISPLEASE who can't make a thick crust pizza! This is one of my top 3 as far as local "cheap pizza" goes. The service is typically fair, the pizza is pretty consistent. The kids prefer HH cheesy bread over Pizza Brew's (kids opinion, not necessarily the opinion of the reviewer ;)...) A previous reviewer noted that they are typically empty when they drive by: it should be noted that this is NOT a restaurant. It is also NOT Dominoes, PJ's or PH (the Big 3 of cheap pizza in this area), and I have often driven by these locations and they appear empty. This is because these businesses focus on delivery & take out. I have had poor service at HH (I called on my way home & asked about a special, explaining that I did not have their flyer with me & the female on the other end told me I should go online & look at their site... REALLY?) and I have had friendly service. But what it comes down to is my orders are typically right, this is not a high class joint. My expectations for "fast food" customer service are typically low, and they have typically met the bar on this. I recommend this place for good, greasy, cheap pizza. :) read more

This place has descent pizza. It's just the employee's at this particular location are rude, crude, mindless, ignorant, hopeless, and lazy as heck. You come in and they don't even say hi or welcome, they just wait for you to order without saying anything. It's happened to me a few times since going in there. I think the manager needs to get these employees into a customer service class and fast. I blame the manager though. Always will blame the manager. The place isn't that clean either. What kind of management lets their employee's act lazy, close early, and not clean the place up a bit? So, the brand new facility in Parkland, FL was immensely disappointing. The pizza was Meh... The worst situation was NO GLOVES, NO.... I have frequented this Hungry Howies for 2 years now and I've had some orders messed up. However with a customer service background myself I know what is acceptable. So I ordered my regular pizzas in person and when I finally get home to feed my family I realize the pizzas are wrong. I call the store and was told by Alexis that she was a manager joke. They seemed upset that I didn't want a credit on my account but actually the pizzas I ordered. I took them back sat and waited on the remakes. Well 2 out of the 3 pizzas were right so now were on a 3rd remake and mind not once was there a take a soda or drink for your gas you had to waste. We asked Alexis and she says oh let me ask (I thought you were the manager or naw). I guess the relationship has come to an end. We'll take our dollars else where because they don't want our money. Ordered about a dozen pizzas for our office today. We chose Hungry Howie's because they are affiliated with the National Breast Cancer Foundation and today is our pink out day. We ordered with Mike and he was awesome and provided great service. The pizza was good for this type of chain and really can't complain. Yuck! My family and I made the decision to order pizza, and their first choice was Hungry Howie's, I can assure this place was not my choice... by a long shot! I called the location and to no avail, the answering machine listed the hours, but said closing time was 10pm, ( I made my phone call at 9:27pm) I live around the corner, so it would take me no time to get there. When I placed the call, I originally called from my cellular phone, which happens to be an area code from another county. My phone call was ignored 3 times and went to the answering machine each of those times. I made a call from our house phone and sure enough, he answered. I could not believe this store's audacity to screens calls, and discriminate against callers from other area codes. The order taker extremely lacked customer service skills and was very rude. He rushed through my order so fast, I wanted to order more, but sensed his frustration, since he was due to close at 10:00pm. After being hurried through my order, my husband and I made our way to the location. Once we arrived, I immediately regretted placing my order. My husband was not greeted with a hello, instead the order takers were so interested in watching the Miami Dolphins, they hurried him along as well. I now understood why I was rushed off the phone, the game was more important. One man (spiked, balding, black hair) had the gall to stare my husband down and not utter a single word. I was shocked at how nasty of an experience I had. Who trains these workers on customer service with the general public? Each time I order from this location I receive nothing but rude stares and sloppy service. Our food was disgusting and lacked taste. I highly recommend this location look into hiring other staff, and limit television viewing to customers; it seems to be a huge distraction for them.
