Hunt conducted every aspect of our estate sale. He and his crew pulled out every piece of memorabilia that we had accumulated over 20 years and arranged it for sale. The sale lasted two days and there were people lined up all the way down the block. And we did great making several thousand dollars! I've had the pleasure to do business with Hunt Estate Sales on around ten or more occasions. Each estate they choose to represent is full of quality merchandise it seems. At the sales of theirs that I've attended I've dealt extensively with the wife and husband team that run the show. They have always been more than fair with me. There is a fine line between getting the best price for your client and making sure the buyer is happy at the same time. Hunt seems to walk this line perfectly. A sale is only successful if the merchandise actually moves and brings good prices. I've seen near empty homes most times I stop by at the end of their sales. There are always big crowds which means people enjoy coming back to their events. An estate sale runner has people pulling them in ten directions at once every minute of a sale from what I can tell. Despite this I've found the owners of this company always have time to step aside to say a quick hello and how do you do. I am writing in response to the review left by my business partner Nicole R and the response by the business owner.She was involved in every aspect of my ordeal with this Estate sale company. She also reviewed the texts I received and I assure you she is not a pseudonym. It is a shame I am an honest hard working man that tries to treat others the way I want to be treated. Some people believe that can treat others poorly and get away with it. I have let it go many times when I have been treated bad by estate sale companies. This time is different. I was threatened with multiple calls and text messages at all hours of the day. In addition I was pranked called by the male owner of this company pretending to try to sell me a piano. He told me I have arrest records which I do not. He insults me by telling me my dad says I don't like girls, clearly suggesting I am gay. I have all the texts and time stamps to prove it. Further he threatened me and said he hopes I have business insurance so he can sue me. He continues to threaten me. I have made a police report due to the harassment. This is a shame how far he and his wife will go when they should have treated others the way they want to be treated. I have understanding business is stressful and that I can't buy every piano but I don't have to be treated in the manner I was treated. I do not have a duplicate account as said, Michael R is my business partner and actually is my brother hence why we have the same last name initial. I have went through this whole process with him and it is a shame certain people have no humility and decency. If you look up the google review since it was removed from this site Maggie and her husband make suggestive comments about my brother being gay. They have tried every means to demean him. Again we have proven texts of all that occurred including threats and late night texts. How would anyone else feel in our shoes getting threatening texts at 1:30am? Tell me how anyone would believe this is ok, seriously how can this be justified as a reason as trying to get the right price for their clients. They have every right as a company to sell what they want and to who they want for the price they want. I completely understand but that does not give owners of a company the right to be demeaning and make threats. Further I have had several of their friends come after us which Yelp removed their reviews because they saw that they were invalid. Why did they remove those reviews and not mine or Michael's? The reason being it is unethical to do and is simply wrong. Matt R. was one those people, shame on you. Of course your friends will stand by you and don't have both sides of the story. My brother tried to call this company after all of threats to remove the review and make peace but he is still waiting on the call. That is how you resolve an issue. This is one of those companies that seems to book the higher end and/or quirky estates to liquidate, so when I go to a Hunt sale I know I will find at least one cool or unusual item. My sister and I recently held an estate sale to clear out our dad's apartment in Back Bay. We decided to hire Maggie and team, and are so happy that we did. She was professional throughout - from staging the items to bringing in specialists to assess specific pieces to referring us to outside vendors we needed (piano consignment guy, electrician to remove and pack a fixture for us, clean-out service for our last bits and bobs, etc.) She was incredibly responsive, and put up with my sister's and my many changes to what we wanted to take from the apartment. And if all that wasn't enough, she kept selling for us after the sale. The day the clean-out service came, we still had three big pieces of furniture left. I was dreading his quote to haul them away. Maggie managed to sell all three before he had to haul them. She kept working for us until the bitter end. By the end, I was calling her the "Goddess of Estate Sales." It's tough to go through an estate sale. You watch your family's things disappear bit by bit. Maggie reminded us that we were spreading our dad's legacy into the streets and neighborhoods he loved. There is a difference between "being rude" and having CLASS; Maggie exudes the latter. She only selects the best of Estates when choosing which to represent and liquidate. I have never been disappointed w/ her fair pricing and/or willingness to negotiate when buying in bundle. I have the good fortune of residing between two states, attending sales as a hobby, allowing me to create a few relationships w/ Hosts. Maggie is thee first EVER to return a call DURING a sale to let me know if an item in a photo is still available. Maggie and Jim did an absolutely incredible job (from start to finish) managing an estate sale for me following my mother's death. I had the daunting task of having to clear out the contents of my mother's 13-bedroom Victorian so I could place the home on the market for sale. I don't live nearby and needed to find an estate sale company I could trust to handle the sale without my involvement. My mother was also a bit of a hoarder and the home was literally filled to capacity with furniture, clothing, and other household items. As soon as I met Maggie and Jim I felt at ease and knew I was in good hands. Maggie and Jim seem to really have a love and passion for what they do. Not only were they able to sell virtually every single item in the home, but they also coordinated gathering additional items from the garages of two other properties my mother owned to add to the sale, and hired a police detail given how large the sale was, both at no additional charge to me. I felt that Maggie extensively researched and strategically priced all of the items that were sold so as to get the best selling price possible. And, following the sale, Maggie coordinated donating any items that were not sold. This really was one of the best experiences I have ever had hiring someone to render a professional service.
