I'm looking at all the reviews and I think they're being a little dramatic. It really isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. PRICING Lots of people are complaining about the apartments being overpriced, but I think it's reasonable considering the location of the property being so close to everything you could need (my work is a 5 minute commute, Walmart is 10 minutes away)--I have yet to have a reason to drive longer than 15 minutes other than for something like a concert in Dayton or Cincinnati. PROFESSIONALISM I have had zero bad experiences with the staff ever since I moved in. I had many miscellaneous questions wen I moved in, and they answered every question in a timely manner. The staff really went out of their way to provide as smooth of a move-in as possible. They have been kind, professional, down to earth, and frankly fun to engage with. QUALITY I do think they could improve the first impression of their apartments to some extent (this is why this review is 4 stars rather than 5). The smell isn't the best, but nothing a few wall flowers can't fix. I also have some chipped paint in my bathroom sink, but it really isn't the end of the world like what everyone else is saying. After some interior decorating and arranging, the place already looks much nicer, so I think it's just a matter of giving the apartment some TLC. I really am sorry to those who had a poor experience living here, but I have had no qualms with living here so far, and I hope that others can have the chance to call this place their home. read more

TLDR: extremely overpriced not even including hidden fees, unprofessional staff, unresolved maintenance, horrible unit upon move in Hunters chase continually disappointed us during our year of living there. The staff are poorly trained and not knowledgeable. The apartments are the epitome of landlord special with an additional touch of neglect. The problems started before move in. The staff said there was a "mix up" with our unit assignment, and made us drop everything to change all of our utilities and resign a different lease the same day of move in. When we moved in, in February, there was a paper on the counter that said they have a "white glove guarantee"- the apartment was so disgusting we had to deep clean before moving our stuff in, and in addition, the windows were stuck OPEN with a full 2 inch gap above the windowsill. Open windows in winter, which weren't fixed for 2 weeks, uninhabitable conditions. We were offered no discount on rent or lost utilities. When I called to talk to office staff, a sexist member of the office staff told me I should try harder to shut the windows--FYI the windows required entire replacements, which could not be resolved by trying harder to shut them. In addition to the price gauged rent, you can expect to pay up to $400 monthly in additional utilities, including a required internet and cable package. As if anyone needs to pay for cable these days, you are REQUIRED to pay for it. The monthly charges on top of rent also include various fees that are deceptively snuck in. The entire time we lived there we also had maintenance requests unanswered- staff were not receptive of these things and they were not resolved. The cherry on top was my move out process. They asked us on 10 separate occasions to renew our lease. They were weird about us having a roommate. The manager accused me of not turning in the keys, which she later found, after several accusatory calls and texts, and then asked for my forwarding address after I had provided it 3 separate times, just confirming that they hadn't been reading any of my messages documenting things. One last thing-- a member of the office staff, Katie, spread rumors about us both within the leasing office and to other residents. A neighbor told me that Katie had been discussing our personal lives to other residents, and when I called to discuss this, a man in the office confirmed this and told me she had been transferred anyways. Went to look at an apartment and they are a wreck. Owner is a slum lord. Water heater had all kinds of growth and crud on it. Looked like some deep sea monster. Fixtures falling off, holes in walls. Look like it hadn't been painted in years. Just dirty. Looks like the complex is Section 8. read more

RUN as far away as you can! this place is filthy and disgusting and will not fix any of your issues. I have holes in my ceiling ( I live on the first floor!) It took me 8 months to get blinds in my bedroom, and they don't even work. before that it was just an open window. My bathtub isn't connected to the floor. My baseboards look like leftover pieces just taped to the wall. I have roaches and bugs. Stray animals on my patio. Broken doors in the hallway. Chipped paint and pieces of the wall missing. And they won't fix it. They will also harass you. I mean HARASS you to get what they want, not caring about you at all. When I say harass..think the stalker ex-boyfriend who won't take no for an answer until that final "no" and he murders you and chops you up into pieces and throws you into the swamp (conveniently located steps from my patio) where you will never be seen again. Do you want to be murdered?? then move here. if you like your life, even a little bit...then RUN as fast as possible somewhere that isn't Hunter's Chase!! otherwise you will be showcased on the nightly news. read more

Do not move here. These are not luxury apartments. They moved us into an ex-smoker's apartment, on day one there was tar and nicotine on the walls and vents. Mold in the bathroom ceiling. We ran air purifiers daily. The carpet was patched and dirty. Countertops painted. A dead body was found floating in the pond. We stayed the full 12 months to adhere to our contract, even after buying a home with 6 months left of our lease, but we were still hit with a bunch of fees. They took our $1,000 deposit and say we still owe them $2,100 on top of that. The charges are asinine. $250 for a window we didn't break, we have proof over email when we moved in that they said they would fix it and they didn't. Drywall repair for $200 when we didn't hang anything. $100 for 2 missing mini blinds. $425 to clean out appliances that I cleaned before we moved. They also charged us pet rent after moving out claiming they didn't know we had a dog and it's clearly stated in the contract that we paid a $500 pet deposit and we paid monthly for him.. Debt collectors have gone out of their way to embarrass me by calling my boss and HR at work several times, it has affected our credit scores and we have been served paperwork to go to court now. Clearly this apartment complex does this often to their tenants when they have lawyers on standby, so just be aware before signing a contract and moving in. I am so glad we own a home and don't have to deal with shady agencies like the Connor's Group anymore. read more

DON'T RENT HERE!!!! If I could give them a -10000000000000000000000000000 I would. I hate living here since they handed my keys. They pressure you to leave a review right after you sign your lease because all they want is all the five stars so the apartment complex look like they care and are the best when in reality they don't give a fly fuck about the people of live in the apartment. We had 35 thing wrong with the apartment in June of last year. They still haven't fix any of it.When they came to fix my fridge. They didn't give us 24 hr notice when they was coming over. They just come over and just open up the door. We was sleeping in our bed when they came in. They told me my bill would be for everything 1400 but my bill is almost 2,000 a month. They also said they would give us hard wood for our floor bc that what we was wanting but instead they give us carpet. They also said they did a whistle glove test to show how clean the apt was but that was a lie because we found dust, mold and the HVAC filter was dirty before we even move in. All that the manager said to us is deal with it because you already signed the documents so you have to pay for it. All they care about is just to get you to sign the document so they can get paid. They also want us to leave a review of our experience before we even live there. That's probably how they have so many good reviews 3/14/23- I like how they said they have been in contact with me but I haven't had a phone call all day or at all about my problems. They just try to keep it look like they are doing something when in reality they don't care 3/15/23- Well the manager called me. She ask me what the was problem. I told her what it was and that it's kinda funny how I'm just now got a call about my problem after leave a review about this apartment complex. I told her I don't care if the problem gets fix now since I only have 3 month to live here. And she said well you are refusing us to do work so we are going to document it and then she hung up on me. So I call her back and told her all my problems and I also stated that I didn't say I was refusing the work. I was just say I don't care what you do since we only having 3 month to live there. 3/26/23- They kind fix the floor in the bathroom. They said the broken kick board was normal wear and tear. They also said in my review they are work to fix the problem but they only fix one out of the 35 problems and are acting like they are doing some thing about the problem to look like they care but they don't. They just care about they review and screw people out of money. 5/12/23- We had a meet with one of the lady, in the office about what we need to do for moving out. She said here the list. Then try to push us out ever when we set up a time to have a meeting to make sure they still had all our 35 problems on the list. But she was acting like we didn't matter and said I have another meet and can't talk any more so bye. All I have to say is WOW. They know how to treat people like crap after they have your money. Read the real reviews. Not the five star ones they prompt you to write when you tour, because yes, they do that- probably to cover up the real ones. I was gullible and moved in despite the apartment being dirty/damaged and smelling of cigarettes during the tour. I was under the impression it would be cleaned before my move in but I was wrong. Within the first month of living there a bird came through my fireplace (I had never used) and left fecal matter everywhere. Not to mention the pilot light being blown out before my move in, the holes in the garage that caused flooding and damage to my personal belongings, or the gaps in my bedroom window that I had to shove trash bags into to keep my apartment bearable in the winter. Those are just a few things- I could go on. My yearly walk through was a ploy to get into the same room as me to pressure me into resigning the lease. This was very very uncomfortable. They were in my apartment for nearly an hour seeming to not take no for an answer. They finally left and told me I could think about it. They called me almost everyday for a week trying to talk me out of leaving. They said if I moved somewhere cheaper it would be trashy and in a bad area. Crazy coming from Hunters Chase when they found a body in the pond by my patio a few years ago. I got my deposit back, but they decided to keep $150 to themselves for- "tub and sink cleaning" Pictured below is a picture of the tub at my move IN. Covered in mold and very clearly not cleaned. I know for a fact I scrubbed the bathroom harder and longer than any of the cleaning staff at Hunters Chase would. I guess I should've painted over the mold that was there the entirety of my lease and probably long before that. That's more than Hunters Chase would've done! The sink is covered in a granite wallpaper material and was peeling up upon my move in as well. Maybe if they used the money they steal from tenants deposits they could actually have luxury apartments. The other pictures I've included are of damages/dirt at my move in and leaks that weren't tended to right away, because "there was no rain in the forecast, so the water pooling in my ceiling would be fine to wait another week." As an extra bonus enjoy the screenshots of duplicate maintenance requests you have to put in if you want something to be only halfway fixed. Don't waste your money here unless you enjoy the smell of cigarettes, living with mold, being strong armed into resigning, or paying $270 (my bill) for mandatory cable. (They say it's mandatory for every complex in the area-not true!) Maybe your experience would be different, but I strongly encourage you to try somewhere else. read more

In the past few days, I was helping a friend in the early morning so she could head off to work. I don't live at Hunter's Chase, but I probably won't recommend it to anyone either, unless some changes are made. Primarily I was disgusted and grossed out frankly by the amount of dog crap on the grassy areas. I have never seen such a lack of cleanliness! I worry about the safety of my friend and her family's health if they have to cross those grassy areas to appreciate the tennis courts and playground. Please consider requiring tenants to clean up after their pets! It's just what is expected these days. read more

STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM HUNTERS CHASE AND THE CONNOR GROUP, they will lie, cheat, and steal just to make a dollar. First, they would not let me look at my apartment I signed a lease for. The day of move-in, I asked the worker, "how does the apartment look"? He said , "it looks great". When I got there, it was trashed. No handle on the refrigerator, the stove drip pans were dirty with some missing, trash behind the stove and worst of all...the AC air intake had an inch thick of dust and dirt. 6 months later, they hounded us for 3 weeks straight basically begging us to renew our lease when we told them we are leaving in August. They don't like people with disabilities because I ask for 5 months to get an upright handicap sign. As of today, I am fighting to get my security deposit back. I contacted the Connor Group 3 times, and no one responded to my emails or gave me a call back. By Ohio law, they must send out security deposits 30 days after the lease has ended. Looks like I must get the attorney general involved. Please, please, please do not rent from them and tell everyone you know not to rent either. read more

Corruption and cockroaches... that's what will greet you if you step foot into this place. Yes, I had cockroaches and they didn't attempt to do anything about it until after I had moved out. They actually made it seem like it was my fault and asked me why I didn't tell them sooner? I'm telling you now. Why didn't you attempt to do anything about it until a month after we moved out? Rent is over $1200 for a one bedroom (same as my now mortgage for a 4 bedroom house), mandatory internet/cable bundle is $130/month, there is "common gas" and "common electric" (meaning you will help pay for the costs of the apartment building you live in--yes you read that right, not just inside your apartment but outside), $50/mo for TRASH and no recycling (are you kidding me?!), and even a $10 admin fee to pay your rent. I'm sure there's more I'm missing--there's hidden fees everywhere. Oh, and if you have pets, be ready to pay a monthly fee and a $700 nonrefundable security deposit for them. I've never lived in a place that took so much money from me. OH, and don't forget: if you're late with your rent by even a day, you will be charged $150. Yes, again, you read that ridiculous number right. Maintenance is a joke. I called 6 times about my running toilet and they would come in and tinker for like 5 minutes, not replace anything and then leave, not fixing the issue. Maintenance tickets regularly got "lost" and they would never show up. It took them 3 months to fix a single long blind in the living room and didn't apologize. This place is a literal nightmare. My friend also lives here and said he has a HUGE bug problem, even worse than mine. Multiple different species of bugs live in his furnace space. If I would have known all of this moving in here, I would've never signed a lease here. I cancelled my internet and cable on June 15th and come to find out it's still on my bill on August 1st? I called the office and they said internet and cable is *worked into my lease*...excuse me?!?! I've lived in 20+ apartments and this has NEVER been a thing. They said I'm going to have to keep paying for this service I'm not even using.. $120/month. Because they put it in my lease. It's almost like they want their residents to suffer. This is my experience with them: I sent an e-mail requesting more info on a 2br apartment and instead of replying with detailed information the the apartment, it's amenities, rent price and what the rent price includes, utilities & its fees, etc. They call me up to tell me about the application and the fees I have to pay without asking what I thought. Regardless of what I wanted they immediately asked me for my credit card number! Seriously! What kind of management does that? I was never sent information that was informative about the apartment itself. Did they really think that I was naive enough to just pay non-refundable ($499 to be exact) without knowing a single detail of the apartment. NO NO NO NO! RED FLAGS WERE WAVING LEFT AND RIGHT. They keep blasting my phone and e-mail address asking me to start the application process. FOR WHAT EXACTLY! I REALLY DON'T KNOW AT THIS POINT. Where do I start....from the beginning the associate named KIARA, (who no longer is employed by them at no surprise), told us that all of our utilities combined would be $200 a month at the max, but we are paying 500 for all utilities because there are so many fees hidden that we were not told about. Also they did not warn us that the "great deal" on cable and Wi-Fi they get with spectrum is a mandatory thing and it cannot be shut off or changed out, etc. we were lied to about that. When we moved in our bathroom floor was busted up from the previous occupant, and we were told that in one or two weeks someone would be able to fix it but that never happened and now it is four months later and we told the office that no one had been out to fix our problem and they acted like they had never heard of it... and said they "lost the work order for it". I have never heard of or seen A more unprofessional Group of people in my entire life. This apartment complex is 100% a scam. They rushed us through the entire process of signing our lease and didn't even check our backgrounds and our income before saying that we were approved...which is not standard procedure. They wanted us to move in so quickly and so bad just to hit The certain number of move-in's that they needed for that month, that they lied about so many things just to make us move in. I went to go clean the intake vent for the heater (not sure if that's what it is called) because i noticed thick dust accumulating in the slits. As i was vacuuming, more and more kept coming out so I unscrewed it and there was literally 2 inches of BLACK crap that's clearly more than 2 years old. And this is a "newly upgraded" apartment. I should have known it was absolutely disgusting behind that because a week into moving in here, the filter hadn't been changed and was completely coated in brown filth. For how much they charge for this place, I am thoroughly disappointed. All they want is your money and dont care to put you into an unhealthy living situation. Renters beware. read more

My apartment was filthy moving in, hard rats and roaches. Lost my job and asked to move out, they threatened to sue and garnish my wages.

Stay far away from these apartments, or any property managed by the Connor Group. I was a resident for 3 years and any maintenance request deemed a non-emergency required several follow-up calls for any attempt at fixing being made. Rent is increased annually despite no improvements made to the unit's themselves, and the current facilities are outdated with constant issues of neighboring smells and noises from your fellow neighbors. Maintenance of these facilities is atrocious and water damage is abundant. Moving out was the worst hassle since they nickle and dime basic wear and tear from your deposit which is a non-responsibility of the tenant. We have yet to receive our deposit back from these leeches. I Would never recommend this place. read more

We are currently living here and from the 3 months that we have been here it's been atrocious. We've opened the closet door 5 times since we've been here, fell off the hinges and completely broke. Tiles on the wall have fall off at the slightest touch, blinds break with the slightest opening, garbage disposal has been clogged for the last 2 months can't get help with that. Toilet leaks on occasions. Called for maintenance almost 2 months ago still haven't seen anyone or been contacted. If they tell you it's included in the rent it's definitely not. $999 for a one bedroom apartment that half the shit is broken in. Bathroom is molding. Still haven't received our deposit back. Do not move in here it's not as glamorous as it looks I can promise you that. The pool not very clean, no one returns calls or messages here. Our leasing agent up and left after we moved in. Email. The apartamets here have black mold growth and the management and corporate do not care. I have lived here for ten months and they have only attempted to fix it within the last two months of my lease because they want me to resign. Their pathetic attempt to stop the growth didn't even work and now they will not return my forms of contact. Don't give them your money. read more

I lived in these apartments a few years back for 1 year. I lived on the ground floor. Overall it was ok, though I did find that the walls were paper thin (as to be expected in many apartments). I would not recommend these apartments if you have pets. At the time I had a small yorkie who had chewed up the carpet in one small area right in front of the bathroom door. After moving out i expected that they wouldn't return my deposit due to that reason. I received a bill from them for $1000 in addition to keeping my deposit for the minor carpet damage. I called to get explanation of the extreme cost and they said they couldn't patch the carpet or just replace one room so they needed to re-carpet the entire apartment. They also told me I had 30 days to pay or they were sending me to collections! read more

Beware of Hunter's Chase Apartments ... They don't Keep Their Promises. Also, they don't do as promised .. and they don't give people clean Apartments as promised ... even when the tenant gives them time between signing of the lease and moving in. Instead they give you apartments with Icky bathtubs, toilets that are children toilets, ruined floors, and generally dirty. I've asked the people in the office to even just give me 5 min of their time and come see for themselves, but they wouldn't even do that for me. Nothing but issues since moving in. False promises since day one. If you need a person in a frog suit and 8 signs in the front of the building to let people know you are need of tenants that's a red flag. For anyone reading this please steer clear of this place at all costs. Many other better options than this place, they are charging over a 1000$ for a one bedroom apartment now with many of them Barry kept up, just let that sink in. May look decent on the outside but you will learn the management here is terrible. Most tenants here will stay for a year see how poorly the place is ran and find somewhere else. Do not let them pressure you into signing things. Just look at the complaints on the BBB. This will be the 7th (no lie) time I've tried to get my bathroom ceiling that leaks water fixed and they have yet to fully fix it, they instead just put new dry wall and paint and tell me they have fixed the leak just for black mold and mildew to bleed through a week later. First off idk how KATIE is even in customer service being she feels she can talk to people however she wants. Please understand that if you have a family this is not the place for you, especially if you are of color. 1st off you'll be given a base amount for rent but that's DOES NOT include the additional $230 for cable they MAKE you have and a ridiculous water, trash charge oh and the word LUXURY in the name is a stretch! Countertops made of cheap STICKER granite countertops... honestly the nicest part of the entire apartment is the kitchen but still our tiles on our backsplash feel often until we finally super glued it ourselves! Your paint on your cabinets and door WILL chip so beware! They honestly should just take luxury out of name completely! Believe me if you're willing to pay $1400 in rent which you will PLUS utilities you might as well stay at a real luxury apartment. This has been our families biggest mistake. Keep all your email correspondence, records and receipts. Take pictures of broken or dirty items when moving in. I wasn't sure at first if these people were simply incompetent or at worst criminal in their management. They are criminal. They will "cook the books" in order to keep your deposit after you've moved out. They would lie and contradict their previous lies in the same breath. Turns out their creative accounting (all of which was fabricated) just happened to result in a balance owed equal exactly to our deposit. It was only because we had all documentation and kept hounding them and their corporate offices in Texas that we got it back. How many dozens, or hundreds of other unsuspecting tenants' deposits are they keeping with these practices? I think the Ohio AG would be very interested in their business practices. If you want to live in a high priced dump then Welcome Home. The buildings look like crap. They were all freshly painted a year ago, and now the paint is peeling off the buildings. Trees have been "trimmed" to the point that they will never regain their beauty. Grass/weeds are about 8" tall. The so called ponds are never kept up. The "fountains" in the ponds are broken. I was told that they light up at night - never saw that. Now they are no long in the middle of the ponds, the fountains are drifting off to the banks of the pond. Office staff change almost as often as a person would change their toilet paper!! The office staff they have now don't know crap about running a complex. They make mistake after mistake and try to blame the prior staff. Maintenance is a joke. Men that don't want to really do anything that would break a sweat. Somethings just never ever get fixed here. Helpful?? Yea don't hold our breath. You get more help from the neighbors then you do the staff here at this so-called great community. read more

The Connor group (corporate) and new management as of the ending of 2015 are the most unprofessional, unorganized, money hungry businesses I have dealt with. I kept my apartment in excellent condition and they're refusing my security deposit. They have strung me along for over 12 weeks stating I would get my security deposit back and NOW they're claiming damages! In verbal conversation they "sent me a check" at least 3 times. How do I know they haven't rented out the apartment THREE MONTHS LATER and now have damage?? They changed protocol of the water bill, which now includes a communal electric and gas bill!. PLUS paying your normal electric and gas bill on top of that. Never have I ever dealt with something like this. I am one person and my WATER bill was over $100!
