This company does not honor contracts and attempts to hold escrow and earnest money in violation of…read morethe purchase contract. Nearly 18 months ago, we were going to purchase a home in Jackson, MI, but the bank did not approve the loan, so the purchase agreement was nullified at that point. The sellers actually sold the home to another buyer within a very short period of time (weeks), yet demanded that they be allowed to keep half of the money or else they would not agree to sign a release. The title company has not been helpful and has allowed an unscrupulous and unethical seller, to tie up the release of the earnest money for nearly 18 months! The contract clearly states that the purchase agreement is void and all money deposited by the seller shall be returned if financing is not satisfied/approved. We live in FL. This title company has acted as unethically as the seller. We are now forced to litigate this matter and until this matter is resolved and we get our earnest money returned, we will continue to file complaints and shed light on American Title company's dishonorable conduct. For $500 in unlawfully held earnest money, this company has purchased endless bad reviews, complaints to the state AG, and litigation. American Title Company is dishonorable!

While everything started out good they have really been dropping the ball lately…read more My car insurance was going up 70 dollars a month and my agent never contacted me or looked for better rates like he promised he would do regularly to ensureI always got the best rate. I found out he is on a week long vacation. I called in and spoke to someone there after having to call in multiple times. These people like just shooting people to voice mail and do not seem to care you have a job and you are trying to do this on your lunch. Finally got someone and they promised they would get back with me the next day with insurance quotes. Kind of important because my insurance policy would be renewing in less than a week at the new 300 dollar a month price. Well they never did. Called when they opened the day after he was suppose to contact me back. I explained my situation to the receptionist and that I had to speak to someone this morning to get it resolved. She transferred me to someones voice mail. I called back and got the same girl who again didn't seem to care I had to get this taken care of, she was very huffy and rude and once again transferred me to someones voice mail. Reasonably upset I called back a third time. Finally I got Ashley who placed me on hold until she got the manager. The manager was mad at me and lectured me for being short with her people when it was not their fault. I explained my situation to her and also explained that the first receptionist I reached twice kept transferring me to peoples voice mails when I needed to speak to someone this morning to get this fix and I also explained it was not my fault. She basically asked me what I expected because they had just opened and she could not help me now but would have to get back with me. She also said there just may not be another insurance rate lower for me. Just excuses when Barker Weber people dropped the ball multiple times through this entire process and then want to act like I am the bad guy for being upset at their continued incompetence. I have already been looking for my own car insurance and found 2 quotes of less than 200 a month where their best quote was only 220 a month last time. It seems they have no sense of customer service or making customers happy. While I may have been short with the people I spoke to I never cussed or yelled at anyone.
