While technically they weren't deploying deceptive sales tactics (because the fine print is on their website), their associates never properly explained how the promotion worked. Beyond that, the online portal for your account is horribly setup and not user friendly. Finally, I have to be honest in saying that some of their associates are not very good at explaining the processes involved in more complicated transactions such as those involving a mortgage in my case. Before you consider doing business with Dollar Bank, I recommend you consider other options available to you and if you do decide to work with them make sure your pencil is more than sharpened. They do not look out for their customers and do not seem overly concerned about making things right.

Because of Northwest's personal attention, they are aware of and helpful if I have been struggling and occasionally missed payments. Before giving up on a Bank that is focused on this area, and the people here, and which does not sell our mortgages to Wall St robots, (which then come and throw people out of their homes even when their mortgages are paid up and in order), I suggest if anyone is unhappy with a service or has an issue with Northwest, go talk with the branch manager, before giving up a community invested service like Northwest. Like most banks you can "deposit" your check remotely by taking an image of both the front and back. Their ATMs are free at all places noted by "Allpoint" whenever you are traveling. They offer free checking. I have received very good customer service each time I visit but the best thing I like is how their online banking works. Once you set it up and link your account you can add merchants from either a drop-down menu or "add your own" if you don't see one listed. You can also pay a person. When the merchant is added it will show you the number of days the amount you specify paid will be deposited in that merchant's account. The money is normally withdrawn immediately unless you schedule a future payment. The vendor will still get it in the time-frame specified. If they need to cut a bank check then the process is a little longer. The best part I like is that if the merchant fails to receive your payment by the guarantee due date and if it coincides with your payment due date then the bank will take responsibility for it after an investigation. Like most banks they offer credit cards as well as debit and their interest rate is not the greatest but that is to be expected. They now offer "Apple pay" if you are tech savvy and wish to use your IPhone with a certified vendor. They do have a "funds availability" once you deposit a check. So please don't think the entire amount is immediately available. Check with the bank on this matter. They only time funds are immediately available is when you are making a cash deposit. I've been relieved of having to worry about sending large sums of money though the mail when the occasion arises through this system.
