I just finished the 2 week bartending certification including ATAP at 1800 Bartend in Farmingdale last week. It's right next to Adventureland. The course packs a lot of information in during a short period of time. We easily learned over 100 drinks. The school is set up like a bar. Jerry the instructor is hilarious and highly entertaining. I call him the YODA of bartending. He probably could have been a comedian in another life. The class was very enjoyable, stress free and the small group size was ideal for maximum hands on practice making all the drinks. From rocks drinks, to sours, shots, martinis, and mixed drinks, we learned it all. I even made a few new friends in the class that I will be keeping in touch with. There was a guest bartending night at a bar in Coram to serve drinks if you brought friends and a test at the end of the 2 weeks to make sure you have the main drinks down. Since the class ended I have been in touch with Richard who helps the graduates with job placement. He has already given me a few leads. For the money, I learned alot and thoroughly enjoyed 1800 Bartend. I'm looking forward to starting my side hustle bartending and will keep you posted on my journey. When you walk into the back, where they had classes for kids to do fun activities, it's all items for babies. Which I absolutely love that they did this. During a difficult family situation, I believe my child's educational experience was negatively affected by decisions surrounding parental involvement. I was excluded from aspects of my child's school experience, and my understanding was that this occurred because the other parent, who was responsible for tuition payments, would not continue with the school unless I was excluded. Regardless of the circumstances between adults, the child should always be the priority. My concern is that children from families experiencing divorce or separation deserve the same level of care, neutrality, and advocacy as every other child. No child should lose opportunities for support, connection, or a sense of belonging because of adult disagreements. Parents place enormous trust in school leadership.
