I have unfortunately witnessed staff mocking disabled students, gossip, and lack of professional boundaries w/ students (i.e., romantic grooming). FSC is known to have MANY concerning staff members who have been found guilty of serious misconduct. They either get swept under the rug, or get shuffled to the next SUNY school. Most misconduct goes unreported because the staff members are all "friends." And if you are a student reporting such misconduct? Good luck. You will face hostility, blame, and retaliation.

The school is your classic high school, classrooms, lockers lining the corridors, a library, various offices, bathrooms, and teacher lounges. The board room is right next to the library and it's an impressive board room. The board has a platform that they can be seen on while conducting board business they are equipped with mics so they can be heard. They have a projector screen for presentations. When they hold a public works session sometimes they hold it in their administrative offices and space in that room is a little tight. The school looks pretty clean. I don't know how it is to go to high school here, but from the perspective of a part time journalist who comes here on occasion it isn't bad.

Chaminade is an independent Catholic college-preparatory high school which truly prepares its students to the real world. I had the pleasure to attend the 2000 graduation ceremony of my former love's brother and the added pleasure to attend live performances of past off-Broadway shows: "Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and "Guys and Dolls." Tuition is very expensive and entry admittance is not very easy. I highly recommend this school for any parents and young men who are entering their high school years. It is a "coming of age" to young men. Chaminade High School's notable alumni are: George Kennedy, 1943, Academy Award-winning actor and Bill O'Reilly, 1967, a political commentator; host of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor.

There are many places that I would consider overrated. Chaminade is not one of them…read more As a relatively recent graduate, I very much feel as if it prepared me for college. I dare say many of my college classes are easier than those I took at Chaminade. The workload was pretty bad, but again this prepared me well for college and gave me good study habits. I graduated here before they started offering their AP courses, but I'm assuming the academics are still top-notch. They were pretty strict with things like uniforms, cheating, and general classroom nuisance, but I really don't recall many egregiously unfair punishments handed out. Most of my classmates were great and I'm still friends with many of them in college. I never really saw any bullying going on, and even those who I didn't like the most were better people than most at other schools. In terms of the good morals stuff, yeah I'll say that part's a little overrated. They definitely teach you to be the best person possible, and I will say most of my classmates were good people. But some parents try to act like everyone who goes here is a saint or never does anything bad in their life. This just isn't true. A lot of drinking and drugs (mostly just weed) goes on here. Again most of even those who party and stuff are decent enough, it's just perhaps not the most "saintly" place ever like some parents will have you believe. It's one of those places that you don't like, at the moment when you're going there because of the course load and how stressed you will be. But once you look back on it a couple of years into college, you'll see how good it was and how well it likely prepared you.
