My daughter started at 1.5 years old and is now 3.5, and my son began at 1 year old and is currently 2.5. I'm also excited to share that we'll be sending our next son, who is currently just 2 weeks old, when he turns 1. We're already looking forward to the wonderful experience he'll have, just like his older siblings. What truly stands out is how flexible and accommodating the staff has been to our family's needs. They have consistently gone above and beyond to make sure we feel supported, and they've always been responsive and communicative, answering any questions or concerns I have promptly and with care. I always feel heard and valued as a parent, which means so much to me. The staff's commitment to creating a safe, enriching environment for my children is evident in every interaction. It's clear they genuinely care about the children's growth and development. I feel confident every day that my kids are in great hands. My daughter is now fully prepared and ready for preschool next year, and I'm so grateful for the foundation the school has given her. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a place where their child will be loved, supported, and encouraged to grow in a positive, caring atmosphere. Thank you so much to the amazing team for all you do!

Cathy was amazing with the entire registration process and our little one is thriving with Haley and Brianna. Morning drop offs is a breeze, there's never a question if there's enough room for your child that day in their regular room and it is consistent to help keep the child comfortable. Class size and safe attentive care were some positive selling points that stuck out to me as well. The teachers do a great job at uploading some pictures throughout the day as well so we can get a glimpse of what our little one is up to and seeing the bright smile on her face as she is learning, exploring and socializing is worth it ten folds. Thank you again PeeWee Folks!!!

I was told by several people in the community that it was a great place for children with developmental disabilities. I definitely made the right choice! He was lucky enough to have Miss Christi for the integrated pre k program. She is fantastic! Thanks to her he was able to move to a general education program for elementary school. When it was time to look for preschool for my other children I looked no further. My son was placed with Miss Christine for the 3s program. He really enjoyed going to her class. She always had wonderful activities and projects planned. She also helped me realize that he also needed some additional services. Thanks to her he is currently in Miss Amy's 4 year old integrated class and he is doing amazing! He is so excited to go to school each day and so eager to learn! He even knows his numbers and letters! My daughter also went to building blocks. She was in the toddler program with Miss Dawn. She is the type of child who doesn't separate easily but Miss Dawn made it happen!! By day three She was running into the classroom without looking back at me! I have never seen my daughter happier! Miss Dawn is the greatest toddler teacher in the world! My children have also received related services through building blocks. Miss Shannon was my older son's occupational therapist and I was overjoyed when I found out that she would be working with my younger son! He also receives physical therapy with Miss Amy and speech therapy with Miss Alexa. I cannot say enough about each of these women. I feel so lucky to have them in my corner. My children have grown so much and come so far due to their hard work and dedication. I would also like to mention the nursing staff. My daughter has epilepsy so you can imagine how nervous I was to send her to a program. Thanks to the amazing nursing staff I had no fear! They are so knowledgeable and they made me feel so comfortable! I knew that she was well taken care of at every moment!! Overall building blocks has exceeded all of my expectations. Every staff member including teachers, assistants, therapists and administrators have been nothing but kind and nurturing throughout this preschool experience. I am forever grateful to this wonderful school!!

Review for Bayshore Headstart…read more I am writing this review to warn parents about the unprofessional and unsafe environment at Bayshore Headstart, specifically in Miss Alexis' classroom (classroom five). My three-year-old son attended this school, and I was deeply concerned by the conditions and the treatment he received. Unprofessional Conduct and Unsafe Environment The school is dirty, unorganized, and unprofessional. I was appalled by the lack of cleanliness and the chaotic environment. The teacher, Miss Alexis, has been very inappropriate and unprofessional. My son has repeatedly told me that she hits him, squeezes his hand, and yells at him. When I confronted her, her response was dismissive and highly inappropriate, questioning why I still brought him to the school. Teacher's Behavior Miss Alexis' behavior is unacceptable. She appears to have severe issues, including being loud, unprofessional, and possibly substance abuse problems. Her appearance and behavior, including smoking excessively and having a strong odor, raise serious concerns about her fitness to be around young children. Lack of Support and Services Throughout the school year, I have been trying to get services for my son, but Miss Alexis consistently denied there were any issues, claiming he was doing well. This lack of acknowledgment meant the school district did not provide the necessary services. Only towards the end of the year did they start acknowledging the problems, which should have been addressed much earlier. Racial Insensitivity It has come to my attention that my son is the only Black child in the classroom, and Miss Alexis has demonstrated a lack of understanding and sensitivity regarding racial issues. Her communication skills are poor, and she does not know how to interact appropriately with the children or their parents. Immediate Actions Taken Due to the ongoing issues and my concerns for my son's safety, I have removed him from Bayshore Headstart before the end of the school year. It is traumatic for any child to endure such treatment, and as a mother, I could not allow this to continue. Despite requesting an emergency CSE meeting, the school district stated that nothing could be done at this point in the year, which is unacceptable. Conclusion My experience with Bayshore Headstart has been extremely negative, and I urge other parents to be vigilant about their children's education and well-being. Ensure that your child feels comfortable and safe in their learning environment, and do not hesitate to take action if you suspect any form of abuse or neglect. The behavior and lack of support from Miss Alexis and the school reflect poorly on their character and the institution's mission.

My granddaughter was in Mrs. Alexis class for 2 years. She learned a lot from Mrs. Alexis. Miss Rachel is incorrect about her son being the only black student because my granddaughter is BLACK. My granddaughter complained her son was hitting her, other children, Alexis and the other staff members. The fun thing about Mrs. Alexis being racist is a joke because Mrs. Alexis is Black.. Mrs. Alexis been teaching at this school for over 30 years. Some of her students now are grandchildren to her former students. She has taught generations at Bayshore Headstart. Mrs. Alexis is a fair and loving teacher. Don't let one BAD APPLE turn you from getting your child or children the best start in their EDUCATION.
