The key difference is that they don't make your child fit into an existing program--they tailor a plan to fit your child's needs. Right down to pairing the right tutor with the child. And the tutors are brilliant. The owner takes a special interest in every child's academic needs. She is genuinely invested in my child's success. She introduced my younger daughter to a new way of looking at mythology that got her excited about learning! She helped my older daughter with conversational French. I can't imagine why anyone would go anywhere else just to pay higher prices for the same old generic approach.

For starters, it feels great to be enrolled again after a lengthy break. We started out with the kids attending Kumon and just going for it. When they were leaps and bounds ahead of their grade levels and peers, we scaled it back to summer enrollment. Then COVID happened and now we are finally back again, but to be honest? I wish we never stopped! Fear grips us all differently and unfortunately the pandemic had us not doing much in the way of being out. On that note, Mrs P and staff are amazing about how they are handling things with the children at the center. They are spacing out sessions (which need to be reserved in advance), and masks are not required but gently encouraged. There is also now the option for the kids to do their sessions from home via Zoom. During our time away both of my kiddos have slowly back peddled academically and that makes me sad but what it also does is prove how effective the Kumon program truly is. Mrs P's own children are shining examples of what programs like this combined with parent involvement can result in. I have watched them do the program, work at the center with their mother, graduate high school at the top of their classes, and both be accepted into an Ivy League University. Everything about Mrs P, her family and the Kumon staff INSPIRES us. We feel so grateful that they welcome us back year after year and we will always highly recommend this method of academic enrichment.

I really think it is one of the most beautiful and…read morethoughtfully designed Montessori schools in the greater Sacramento area, definitely in Roseville, and honestly for me one of the best in Northern California. When I say beautiful, I mean the materials the children get to interact with every day are next level. Everything feels so intentional, carefully chosen and really aligned with the Montessori method. Our daughter has attended Rocklin Ranch Montessori from 16 months old through age four, with some pauses along the way while I stayed home with her and later had two more girls. But we have always come back to Rocklin Ranch, and Aman and the teachers who have had our girls have been excellent. One of the best parts of the school is the communication. They send daily updates, especially for children in the 16 month to 3 year age range, and weekly photos. Their newsletter is wonderful and keeps parents updated and it is so special to regularly see photos of your child with their friends throughout the week. They also have a great skills chart where they track what your child is learning and working on. The outdoor play area and playground are gorgeous. There is a beautiful little garden and outdoor space where the children get to eat lunch and the whole environment feels sweet, calm and thoughtfully cared for. I also really appreciate that the children have the opportunity to nap for up to 2.5 hours, which is such a gift for young kids. They also have an option for the girls to play soccer during the day, which has been really great for our family and has simplified the need to put them in an extra soccer program after school or on weekends. Their pick up and drop off hours are also extremely flexible which has been so helpful for us. We currently have two daughters enrolled in Montessori and one of the sweetest parts is that they get to see each other during the day. That has honestly changed childcare for us, just knowing that they are both there together and near each other, instead of totally separate all day. Most importantly, Rocklin Ranch actually adheres to the Montessori method in a peaceful, organized and intentional way. For our family it has been so worth it.

We had just moved cross…read morecountry and were dealing with a lot--unpacking, adjusting, husband starting a new job, etc. We have an older son who was going into 1st at the time. Rocklin Ranch accepted our son, but had us ramp into a full day care very slowly. Like an hour a day at first. I've never had this experience--neither of my 2 boys ever had such a slow transition period across 3 other day care programs between them. This was frustrating as I my husband and I work full time and paid for full time care but the director, Aman, kept saying he wasn't ready. He was crying too much and it was disrupting other kids. Once he was adjusted things seemed to be going fine, with some comments about rowdy behavior or getting up during circle time from his teachers. We said we'd work on it and both sides acknowledged is was developmentally normal but something to work on at school. His teachers seemed fine working with him on this, but the director, Aman, constantly talked about how disruptive he was. My son was put on probabtion by the director despite a good parent teacher conference. In fact, his teachers were incredibly good natured about my son's "disruptive" behavior and we even shared a laugh over one of the more ridiculous things he did. We would check in all the time and his teachers reiterated to us that he was rambunctious but normal, one teacher said he was just like her nephew and she knew how to work with a kid with his temperament. But then, when this teacher was out of town ... and my son acted up a little cause his favorite teacher wasn't there ... the director, Aman, called and told us he was being kicked out and we had something like 2 weeks to find other care. Not only was this really disruptive for everyone, it was just sad. My perfectly normal toddler was acting like a toddler and was rejected from a school for doing so. It was definitely for the best--he went to another school and thrived and we all made good friends there. But I will never forget how bad this experience was with Rocklin Ranch and I will let anyone I know considering that school not to go there.

Centerpoint is such an amazing preschool and kindergarten. They recently added kindergarten and I'm…read moreso glad they did because we are excited to stay an extra year. I've spoken with other parents in that class and explored the curriculum with the teacher, and can see that the kindergarten is doing such a great job of preparing the kids for elementary school. The whole school truly treats the kids with Christ at the center and the culture is so welcoming and caring. I personally love that they provide lunch and snacks. Parents also bring in snacks for the class about every other/every month. The place is clean, safe, and vibrantly decorated. They send pictures, videos, and updates to parents, maintaining transparency on what's going on each day. They have a big and little kid playground with bikes for the kids to get plenty of outdoor activities as well as a big gym the kids get to play in on rainy days. My kids have learned how to pray before meals, who Christ is, and how we are saved through him. I love that my kids are excited to know Jesus, learn Bible stories, and sing their Bible songs. The teachers have also met with us to discuss the educational and emotional development of our kids. I feel 100% confident that, thanks to the love and support of the teachers at centerpoint, my kids will be educationally, spiritually, and emotionally prepared for wherever we decide to enroll them after they graduate from centerpoint preschool and kindergarten.

Statement to anyone considering enrolling their child at Loomis Gateway Academy…read more As a mother of a severely dyslexic child I feel a responsibility to share with our community that the director at Loomis Gateway Academy is falsely stating she is certified in Wilson Reading System. I have verified with Wilson Reading System (WRS) that the senior director is not certified in any WRS program. As parents of dyslexic children I find It incredibly disheartening that anyone would attempt to mislead our parents. The director, Tesa Briles is trying to pass off WRS course work as being certified in Wilson. As a certified Wilson instructor (Wilson Dysleixa Practitioner) and a mother of a dyslexic child I feel it is my moral obligation to advocate for the children and support the parents. Her statements are misleading and factually untrue. Parents who are planing on attending Loomis Gateway Academy now or in the future, please know that there are no certified Wilson teachers at Loomis Gateway Academy. Tesa Briles, or any teacher at Loomis Gateway Academy does not hold a certification in the Wilson Reading Program. We sent both of our children to The Goddard School until recently. Overall, we are very thankful to…read moremany of the teachers and staff who cared for our children and genuinely tried their best. Unfortunately, the reason we ultimately decided to leave was because we no longer felt our children were safe. We had ongoing concerns regarding repeated aggressive behavior involving the same student. From our perspective, the school's ownership and management did not adequately address the situation despite multiple incidents and conversations. We tried to be part of the solution. We met with the owner, Dee, and even offered to personally pay for a behaviorist to come to the school and provide professional support. We also suggested creating a resource board to help connect families with behavioral specialists and other services. Instead, we learned that the student was being moved between classrooms rather than the situation being effectively resolved. On one particularly upsetting day, our son was physically hurt four separate times. To our knowledge, no child was sent home as a result. Initially, Lisa led us to believe that the problem might have been specific to the relationship between this child and our son. However, after speaking with other parents, we learned that other families had experienced similar concerns. I was also personally told by a teacher about a serious incident involving that student and a staff member. After these experiences, we began visiting the school more frequently and reducing the amount of time our children spent there whenever possible. Once our new school opened, we were finally able to move them. The reason I am still giving this school 4 stars is because of the TEACHERS. There are some truly wonderful people working there, and they deserve recognition. Ms. Corina -- what an amazing human being. Thank you for everything you did for our family. Ms. Monique -- our baby girl received so much love from you, and we will always appreciate it. Ms. Morgan -- thank you for all the love you gave our children. Ms. Vanessa -- thank you for teaching our kids so much and caring for them with so much love. Ms. Michelle and Ms. Mai -- thank you for all your efforts and everything you did for our children. And to Kim and Sam at the front desk -- thank you for your kindness, professionalism, and for greeting us with a smile every day. Our criticism is directed toward the way management handled our safety concerns, not toward the wonderful teachers who cared for our children. Lastly, in our experience, the school is significantly overpriced considering the student-to-teacher ratios and the level of services provided. We are grateful for the teachers who loved and cared for our children, but as parents, safety has to come first.
