I have sent both my son and my daughter to Huntington's for years now and they have done wonders for them. My son hasn't attended in 2 years and is still an entire grade level above in testing thanks to his time there and they caught our daughter up after being left behind due to a personal setback in school and have helped us all along the way. Unless your child is young and needs the one on one help, such as reading the instruction, don't waste your money and time with older children. For older children they are only there to babysit them NOT to tutor them. You will benefit more to reach out to an independent tutor. read more

I highly recommend this facility for your kids' educational needs. Our son needed enrichment during covid since he was getting so few hours in school. They gave him all he needed and more! He loved going every week and never complained about being there. It increased his confidence and he gained far more than he would have during that time in school alone. We took our kids to the Huntington learning center location in Roseville to be evaluated and get them the extra help that they needed after the COVID-19 school year. When going over the results of the evaluation with Douglas Newman the executive director and franchise owner of the Roseville, Rocklin and Granite Bay facilities at the Roseville location, we immediately felt like the evaluation was not accurate. We were advised that our almost 5th grader who has exceptional grades in Math could not add and subtract. When we brought this up as a concern of ours to Mr. Douglas Newman he responded in a demeaning nature stating that what does he know he has only been an educator for X amount of years. When the center called us to schedule our son starting the program, I addressed the concern of feeling talked down to and attitude of superiority. The response I received from Mr. Douglas Newman was that its okay there are plenty of parents who love him. I don't know about anyone else but if I am paying to get my children help, I certainly want to be treated with dignity and respect as the parent of my children who is employing Hunting Learning center in Roseville. We called around to other centers and found the Huntington Learning center located in Citrus Heights (Address: 5739 Sunrise Blvd. Citrus Heights CA 95610) (Phone Number: 916-728-2981) owned by Debi Nason on Monday and oh my goodness what a difference in centers! It was a breath of fresh air! My son left the center gleaming and excited to learn even though he is doing 20 hours of tutoring a week. He is excited to go back and learn. Debi Nason is an educator who is a retired principal and you can just see how much she puts her students first. She makes learning fun, and my son is excited for his summer of learning. I asked my 10 year old what he thought when we left the center and he advised it was such a different experience than the Roseville location. The atmosphere at the Roseville Center was cold and uninviting just very business oriented as if the only concern was my tuition. The atmosphere at the Citrus Heights location was inviting, welcoming and caring, I could feel how much the staff and director cared for my children's well being and growth. When speaking with executive director Debi Nalson and scheduler David I felt comfortable, confident and excited that my son would get exactly what he needed at the Citrus Heights Center and though its a longer drive than the location in Roseville I would drive 100 miles for the difference. If you are considering Huntington Learning Center for your children's education I would highly recommend you bypass the Roseville location and head straight to Citrus Heights, Speak with Debi Nalson and have your child get exception education with a inviting atmosphere, where your opinion matters and you and your child will be respected and cared for. If you are looking for a business transaction then certainly call Douglas Newman at the Roseville Center. read more

My daughter has been going at this Huntington Roseville location for more than a year, but I do not see her to make positive progress. I do like the Huntington material but they failed to access my daughter to a right level; i.e., they have been giving her easy material. I have been very vocal about this but words fall on deaf ears. In addition, the girl at the reception, Samantha, is ignorant and unhelpful. This center is money-oriented. This location is bad not because of its teaching material but it's about the people who work here. Don't waste your money and time at this location. They charge $50+/hour, but don't deliver result. read more

My granddaughter was showing signs of struggles in school. My daughter took her to Huntington Learning Center in Roseville, CA. She has spent 3 days a week during the summer at the Center. We cannot believe the results. Not only have we seen such a difference in her reading but the confidence she has now is totally unbelievable. She is so excited to start 4th grade. Huntington Learning Center (HLC) in Roseville provided a really positive experience. HLC provided a welcoming place where our daughter, who didn't want to go to tutoring, spent 14 hours a week during the summer, reading, interpreting, and doing math, and ended the summer a grade and a half further along than when she started the summer. To top it off, she didn't end up complaining much either. HLC was always kind, warm, and provided monthly progress reports to let us know how she was doing and provided positive reinforcement, encouraging our daughter all along the way. You will find that HLC is not cheap, however its because they hire good, qualified teaching staff that make the money spent a very worthwhile investment that you won't regret. She is having a fantastic year in school now!! We are very thankful to HLC, and would definitely recommend them to a friend. read more

Terrible place for kids. People at the center do not take care of smaller children. My 6 year old went to take the evaluation test for which they charged me $95. They put her in a small room with air conditioning at full blast. She asked them repeatedly to warm the room but they refused. She was freezing in there for 3 hours during her testing. She could not even do the testing properly under freezing conditions and was also shaking when I came to pick her up. Her arms felt ice cold. I do not recommend this place for smaller kids. There is no sense of responsibility to take care of our children among the staff. All other front office staff had sweaters on. Hopefully they recommend future test students to wear warm clothes or a jacket. They are so mean to refuse the request of a 6 year old who has been freezing for 3 hours. Don't they have kids of their own??? They have kept the $95 for a test which will never be evaluated as my daughter would not enter that place again. read more

Our 8 year old son has been attending Huntington all summer to help him catch up to grade level in reading. I can not express how amazed we are by how quickly he is improving! Night and day! He loves attending, enjoys each of his teachers, is excited about his progress, and is so much more confident. Reading has been a huge struggle for him and he's now asking us if we can get him new books or if he can read to us. Something that has NEVER happened before! His personal joy and witnessing the results from his time at Huntington makes the cost worth it. The owner and director are also amazing. We are having an excellent experience. read more

My son has been using the Huntington Learning Center to build his basic skills in Math and English. He is an IEP student and has benefited beyond measure from the support he has received both in skills building and support with his current curriculum. The Huntington Director, Tawny, attends his IEP sessions, contacts teachers with our permission, to compare notes about his current work and assignments. The help we (yes we), receive from Huntington Learning Center has gone a long way in increasing our sons' performance, his confidence and the teachers' confidence that we're supporting and augmenting their efforts during the school day. Good Time Had By All!! Attended our grandson's awards day on Saturday, pizza, soda, ice cream, trophies and somehow they also had time for tye-dying shirts. Lot of fun and a special time for the kids. Debi and her staff did a great job and it was so nice that the teachers were there. Debi and her staff not only made a great improvement in our grandson's reading, but they did it by making him feel special everyday he attended. Thanks for making a little boy feel so confident about his reading and giving him the best start to a love of reading. We went back and forth making the decision to start at Huntington, but I'm so grateful we made the right decision and enrolled him. The difference in his reading made it all worthwhile.
