This is an amazing place for an event! Came for the Detroit Auto Show and it was a completely great experience! Parking was easy and accessible on the rooftop. Lots of space for any type of event and plenty of bathrooms around. Great views of Detroit/Windsor and easy access to downtown Detroit via the people mover. Easy to navigate your way around the building and the surrounding area.

We were part of the first cohort of teachers to attend Ignite the Classroom, at the Ron Clark Academy. We had a follow up dinner to review and reflect on this process. We gathered at Huntington Place and they fed us dinner. The food was ok. There was plenty of space and the sound system worked great. They also paid for us to park. They were plenty of spaces are close to the door. They also had adequate signage so that we could find our room.

Very nice venue plenty of shops and vendors. Very close to restaurants downtown and right next door from the downtown and a ball throw from Windsor bridge.

Me on the balcony at the venue looking at Canada from Detroit.

Great venue right on the river in Detroit. Excellent catering. Beautiful spaces. Can't wait to come to the conference next year.

Came here for the state gymnastics meet and was not disappointed. Lots of reasonably priced parking, free WiFi, great snack, meal, coffee and wine options.

Another fun event hosted in the city! Spent my Friday evening learning about Egyptian Antiquities & new findings soon to be unveiled by one of the most famous Egyptian archaeologists Dr. Zahi Hawass. The entire lecture and presentation was fantastic. I was so excited to learn more about Egypt, as it is my #1 place to visit on my bucket list. I will get there one day i know for it is written in the stars. #afterlife

The TFC Center is one of the largest convention centers in the United States. It was formally known as Cobo Hall, and it was a location for a variety of famous events, most notably the auto show. As a building, it's well-suited to the purpose. It's large, there's plenty of room, in the lobby area is substantial enough that it can be used for additional exhibits and, of course, concessions. I honestly would never have thought to provide a review of the building itself. I wish that they were a review of what I saw here today, Van Gogh Detroit. Because of the large space available, this mind blowingly awesome exhibit had to be contained in temporary walls. And, what they put together here was impressive. I almost never record videos with my phone, but I made extensive use of it here. The images shifted and evolved, coming to life on the walls and the floors. I wish I could post videos here to show what I saw. I'm disappointed to find out that the auto show will not be returning here. But, for a variety of other purposes, it is ideally suited.

We were here for the Van Gogh Immersive experience and had a great time. I felt safe while there - guests without masks were given one. Hand sanitizer available. Clean restrooms. The exhibit itself was incredible! I can't even put into words how amazing the exhibit was - it started out with static silk screen replications of his art along with key verbiage from his letters to his brother. The "main event" was in a large room with the walls and floors alive with his art. My explanation will not be sufficient so please see attachments.

From taking the ACTs here well over a decade ago, to attending Auto shows here countless times, to parking on its rooftop more recently for work, to attending Beyond Van Gogh most recently, it's safe to say that I have a long-running history with TCF Center, formerly known as Cobo Hall and it tickles me pink leaving this review for it now! I have a long history with this place and this place has a long history with Detroit. The inside still feels grand, despite the place looking a bit outdated, and still hosts tons of important events for Detroit year in and year out. The rooftop parking lot seems to be permanently under construction, which can get tedious during non-pandemic times, but I love this space regardless. It's situated right on the river and slightly removed from the skyline of downtown, so from the rooftop, you get a really nice view of all the skyscraper-esque buildings of downtown. Parking here for work has been a joy! Each morning and evening I walk to and from the rooftop parking lot I look upon a different Detroit, and it fills me with so much pride! Keep on doing you, TCF Center!

This was the venue for the race expo when I was in town for the Detroit Half Marathon. There were several different parking options all within walking distance. I opted for the Federal Place Lot for a flat $10. I entered off of Congress St. The halls were spacious and clean with good signage. Their restrooms were also kept clean when I was there.

With many project cars also entered from local high school, college and university teams, this show at Cobo was everything I expected.

This property is housed in the 1925 Metropolitan Building, a stunning Neo-Gothic "Jeweler's Building" that sat vacant for nearly 40 years. Seeing it restored to its former glory rather than being demolished is a win for the city.  The entrance lobby and the grand stairway to the second floor are phenomenal--the restoration team clearly put a lot of heart into preserving the marble and the ornate details. Because the hotel has to conform to the original historic footprint, the rooms are unique and oddly shaped. It was a refreshing change of pace to stay somewhere that broke out of the usual "cookie-cutter" hotel mold. My room featured a long internal hallway, a small kitchenette, and enough windows to provide a fantastic view of the Detroit skyline.  Check-in was seamless, and the staff were excellent throughout my stay. I initially considered subtracting a star because my room lacked a steamer, but the breakfast service won me back. The made-to-order omelets and the yogurt granola station were top-notch, and that high-quality start to the day made up for any minor room omissions. If you appreciate architecture with a history and a bit of character, this is definitely the place to stay in Detroit.

The team at The Loft is on top of their game, is easy to get ahold of, and is great with follow-up. The catering was excellent, and I loved that they had vegan/vegetarian options plentifully available. Onsite staff was accessible and always willing to lend a hand if we needed to reset something in the room. Only a couple of snags we ran into: 1) in the warmer months the loft had a particular... odor about it. I don't know if it is because there is a workout studio below, or the neighborhood, but we had to cover it up with candles. 2) One particular event which took place in January the loft was without heat for the entire day of our training. An apology was made, but we were not given any sort of compensation for the inconvenience. Overall, it's a great unique space and I would recommend it.
