Horrible experience with Huntington from the beginning to the end. This because the receptionist answering the phone was very curt and unhelpful. The technician was polite when coming to the home, but he did not know how to work on ventless dryers and actually damaged the dryer more. They did get it running while he was here, but when I called them later that day they said I needed to file another warranty claim rather than fix the problem. The receptionist was very rude and refused to help. I DO NOT recommend their service at all. read more

My mom called these guys when her washer was not working. They did not ask if she had a warranty or advise cost of call. The guy came out, spent 8 minutes there and advised my mom that her main computer board was bad and she would need a new one. He charged her $192 and advised that a new board would run around $495. When we found out about this we had her call Lowes and learned that the washer was under warranty. Unfortunately the company she called, Huntington, was not one the warranty folks use so they could not reimburse the wasted $192. The warranty repairman came out and spent about 30 mins there. He explained that there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with the computer board. The harness was bad because when the washer was installed it was not leveled. This was no longer allowing the washer to spin. He ordered a new harness. My mom called Huntington and was told they charged her $100 for the call and $92 to diagnose the problem. She advised that they did NOT correctly diagnose the problem and would have charged her another 5 or 6 hundred dollars and still not fixed the problem. How can you charge someone for something you clearly did NOT do? These people are incompetent and dishonest. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! To basically steal 200 dollars from an 80 year old woman is criminal. read more

After another CL-based provider took 6 weeks and made several attempts to fix our LG refrigerator ice maker, they finally gave up and said they couldn't help. I called Huntington; one trip to trouble shoot and another trip to replace the part and it's fixed. Everyone we engaged with was friendly, the price was competitive and they stayed in touch to let us know what was going on. I'd like to start by saying that the technician that came to diagnose our LG dishwasher (~2 years old) was very courteous and professional. He let me know that the part that needs to be replaced is more than likely not covered, but if I call LG and let them know the situation that they may cover it. He would be able to do the work for $40.00 when the part came in. He also mentioned that my issue was part of bulletin that LG sent out to technicians and that they should be covering it. I did call LG after my wife received a call from the HAS office stating that the part wasn't covered. After some back and forth with LG (very painful to speak with) I was able to get our part covered as well as the labor and was provided a APN#, this is the work order ID. When LG called to let me know the work order ID they informed me to let the diagnosing organization know the APN# and that would be able to get the part and the labor done for us. Once we had the APN# my wife called Huntington Appliance Services and they informed her that we need to call LG back and have them submit an order or something to them via some system that they use. I wanted to get some clarification, so I called back, and this is where things went south. Spoke with a representative (I don't remember her name), and I let her know that my wife had called a few minutes ago and was told this and that. She immediately corrected me that my wife called 30 minutes ago, not a few. I can just hear the disdain in her voice when she said this. She explained what she told my wife, and I asked if I could speak to a manager about this. She transferred me to a "manager" who I think her name is Triana, or Trina, Dina, I still don't know as she was not really clear. She wasn't initially annoyed till I asked about how they communicated with LG when the initial analysis was completed. She let me know that they did not communicate with LG. I was perplexed...and asked then "How do they know how what is covered" She got annoyed and explained that in a venomous manner that they use an LG web portal to see what is covered. I was like, "Oh, so you did communicate with LG." She still said that she did not. Communicate with them in the way I was thinking. IMO, potato, potahto. And how does she know what I was thinking. I then asked if we could call LG together to get this all worked out. She said in her annoyed tone, "No, it's going to take too long", I let her know that it wouldn't take that long and reminded her that I have a hard time understanding the LG representatives. She wasn't willing to go the extra mile for a customer, and I was surprised at that. I asked what her name was, and she hung up. I called back, and got her again, I asked for her name and she straight out lied stating that she let me know her name 5 times! That's funny, because I only asked once, and you hung up on me. I asked for the owner and she said he wasn't around and hung up again. I did speak with LG and let them know about this company and how they treat LG customers. The LG rep told me that this information would go through the proper channels, whatever that means. LG also will be coming out handle the part and labor themselves. Now that is good customer service. To the owner, I don't know what your relationship is to this person, but she is not helping your business. I did a quick Google on your company and all the complaints that you have are due to the people in your office. The "manager" obviously has a level comfortability to speak to your customers in disrespectful way and is giving your business a bad name. We will never use your organization again and will let our friends know to stay clear. read more

Over the weekend, during these crazy covid 19 quarantine times our 17 ft upright freezer stopped cooling; yikes. I call and leave a message (it's a Sunday). Unfortunately their message was to let customers know that the service to homes has been suspended for health concerns...not looking good here! Next morning Don, I believe, calls me. Asks lots of questions and tries a diagnosis over the phone! Saving us the service call fee! And yeah- he got the diagnosis spot on! Had the item shipped overnight and called promptly when it arrived the next day! And hubby put it in and we have frozen food again! I am not a customer, unfortunately, but that is only because Janet was a HUGE help over the phone. While, she is not a technician, she knows her way around the refrigerator. When I explained to her what was going on with my parents Samsung Refrigerator, she started asking some diagnosing questions. When I answered her, she knew exactly what the problem was. She told me because the refrigerator was only 16 months old that I should go to Samsung direct after doing some research online first, of course. She explained that this is a recurring issue with this particular model of Samsung refrigerators and that Samsung has been fixing many of them but only if the consumer initiates the call. I thank you, Janet, for pointing me in the right direction. Today we had a Samsung Tech out and he did indeed fix it at no cost to my parents. THANK YOU! I can't tell you how relieved I am to know that it is fixed. You did this and didn't have to. I rarely do this, but must be done. Huntington service out of Marengo, IL is not a good business. They need to learn customer service, compassion, and understanding. I called when I smelled gas when I turned on the oven. I spoke with the receptionist, who I believe is the owner's wife. She was extremely rude and condescending. She asked if had painted and done any work in the house. I said yes. She told me it was not gas I was smelling, but rather the fumes from the floors refinished and paint. I said no- its gas. She then argued with me that I was wrong, it was fumes. I said no, its gas. Again, argued. Finally, she scheduled me an appointment. Yesterday morning, Don, the owner of the company, came out. He walked in, walked over to the stove, turned it on for a second, and said it was the fumes from the floor. He said he could smell it and it was a strong smell. I said no, its gas. I painted and refinished floors over 3 weeks ago. He said no, its fumes. He turned the oven on, wafted, turned it off, and said its not gas. "Ive been doing this for 40 years, and thats not gas." I'm livid and on the verge of tears now. He chuckled and said that he knew I didnt believe him, which I agreed. He said he wouldn't charge me for the 4 minutes he was in my house, and smugly said "I was in the area anyways, so it wasn't a wasted trip." I wanted to kick him out. I called my parents in tears, so upset because there was something wrong, but Don made me feel like an idiot. He never even brought out a gas detector. Today, I had a different company come out- Noble appliance repair. The igniter and valve was broke. There was a gas leak. He fixed AND CLEANED my oven for me. Please don't use Huntington Service in Marengo, IL. When we called to tell them, her response was "well we have insurance." How rude is that. If I or my son died, would your insurance cover gross negligence? I would say no. read more

I had this company come over and look at my ice maker in my fridge. The guy that came is really nice. He came in took out my ice maker looked at a switch and put the maker back in. He was here no longer than 10 minutes. So when I called to pay my service charge of $79 dollars the lady told me $99. When I questioned her about the extra $20 charge, she was for labor. What labor? He was here for 5 -10minutes and DID NOT do anything. It is unethical to charge just for looking at something and calling in to order the part. He did not fix it. Huntington was called to my house through a department as a third party service repair. My washing machine would not work and was filled with water and I smelled rubber. Of course my laundry room is filled with wet stinky clothes and stinky water. Not only does the guy come out and diagnose the problem but he does NOT drain the smelly water! I live in a condo with two bedrooms in the laundry room is across my sons bedroom. When I called the company to ask why they didn't drain the washer since they probably won't get the part in for another 3 to 4 business days at the best. Why would he not drain the water, after a week it's going to smell terrific! Apparently that's the wrong question to ask the girls who answer the phone there they were very rude and told me that he would not be supplied with anything to drain it , lol they repair washers. I asked wouldn't it be common sense to remove smelly water for a customer if you can't fix it the same day. I asked if they could come back and drain the water and apparently that was quite a big deal and the answer was no and she couldn't get ahold of a tech and there was no tech in the area and many other excuses. I told them if they couldn't be courtesy to remove water clearly and they're not touching my appliance you're fired! And by the way they left no paperwork and what needed to be done I have no idea what they even did since my 18 year old was here. I've had my dishwasher break before and them have to order parts each and every time I've had my water drained to avoid smelling up the condo by other Caring companies read more
