AHS hired a different company to install a new furnace (Lenox)after my motor stopped working on my previous one. Everyday for a month afterwards there existed a terrible sleep-disturbing knocking sound. They sent the original installers to assess the problem. I was told the knocking was due to expansion of the air ducts and there wasn't anything they could do. I didn't have this sound with my original furnace. After much persistence, AHS finally sent Sash from JT services to investigate the problem. Sash and his boss (who he called on the phone) finally figured out that the above screw was erroneously placed in the motor blower; once removed, the knocking noises disappeared!! He was polite, punctual and even put booties on to walk through my house. I had a new Bosch dishwasher that needed to be reinstalled after a botched installation by the Home Depot-recommended installer who couldn't get the unit flush with the adjacent cabinets and crimped the drain hose trying to jam it in place. I read the reviews on JT Services and gave them a try. Eugene was very professional and knew exactly what to do. He moved the electrical conduit into the drywall to get it out of the way and drilled new holes in the sink cabinet so the new drain hose and the water supply line were routed lower and out of the way of the dishwasher body. The unit is now installed flush with the adjacent cabinets and working properly. He only charged me the very modest standard installation fee (not for all the extra work) since I was a new customer and local. I will definitely use JT again should the need arise. read more

Needed refrigerator service for fridge stopped working. The technican came, pulled the fridge out, scratched my floor, suggested that unit was not working , because not enough air circulation to cool. Didn't check if there was Freon leak( what I think the issue might have been). Bottom line I ended up with my floor scratched and back to square one-fridge not cooling enough. I was skeptical when our home warranty company recently scheduled JT Services to come out and fix our central air-- the same repair company that also fixed our washing machine. In the past when we needed air conditioner service, we hired an air conditioner-only repair company. I was worried we wouldn't get a proper diagnosis, but I was totally wrong! These guys were amazing, and our technician fixed our issue in 20 minutes and went on his way. If you remember that really hot 90 degree weather we had in May, our air worked for a day and then all of a sudden it wasn't really cooling after that. It's an old unit, so we thought it might be at the end of it's life. We really wanted to go through our warranty company, especially since we were convinced we might need a new unit. We learned that several other neighbors in our area also had their air go out. Apparently everyone in the area needed air service, because no one was expecting 90 degree temps in May. We learned that all repair companies were slammed. We had to wait for an entire week! We purchased two of those giant floor fans and suffered. Our kids hated us (more than the usual) that week. We probably should have purchased a temporary unit, but we knew we wouldn't need it again. We figured this would be a good character-building moment for our kids...and us. It just plain sucked. We didn't learn anything, BTW. When our repairman did come out, he arrived on time (wearing a mask) and went straight to our unit outside. He diagnosed the issue (we just needed a freon refill), and he was gone. And...we have air! Oh, and we learned that our unit is in great condition still. Woot! *Pretty sure our kids still hate us ;-) read more

This company, at least if you are using a home warranty, performs shoddy work. I had to call them out 3 times within a year for the same issue with my gas furnace. I am currently sitting in my COLD house, after the apparently "fixed" my furnace on 11/30/23. It seems their work only lasts about 45 days, at least for home warranties. They know that the home warranty only has a 30 day recall period and after that, you have to pay for another service call for them to come out, so they seem to make sure that their work only last just slightly outside that time period. This is not a spam review, it is a true review. I just got off the call with them this morning about 9:07 am. I have overpaid them for the issue I am having, more than I would have paid if I would have just paid outside of the warranty. I apparently spoke with the owner of the company, a lady, who stated she was the owner, and she did not care that I was freezing my butt off in sub-zero temps. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I called them because my wash machine was not spinning during the spin cycle. I told the gentleman I believe that either the belt went bad or it was the coupling. But it also could've been the transmission. He said well let's take a look and we'll see. To make a long story short it was the coupling. He replaced it and it seem to work just fine afterwards. He did not end the service right there. He made sure that everything was working properly, by having me put in a load of laundry in to make sure it would agitate and spin properly. But then it unfortunately it started to give us a rubber burning smell. He took the time to explain that it could be because of the oil on the new coupling. The smell Did fade a little bit. He explained a lot of things in detail to me but I won't bore you with that. All in all, I definitely recommend TJ services out of round Lake Beach Illinois. I love JT Services. I had a installed microwave below my cabinet that had just turned 5 years old. They came out and looked at it, plus more. For $60 they pulled it apart, tried new parts and spent much time trying to fix it, but in the end the part that was bad was a major component that would need to replaced. In turn, they estimated the fix and recommended that the cost would not be worth it and stated I should purchase another microwave (and not thru them). I did so. After purchase, I contacted them to install the new product. At first the technician was suspect that it would not fit. I assured him it would. He didn't balk... he just worked hard to do the best he could to make sure he could fit it. And indeed, it did. Afterward he took the old microwave and boxed it for us to take to recycle as well as cleaned up any "mess" he made. I will call JT Services again. BTW - on both calls Eugene was my technician.
