The seal on my SubZero fridge had broken, so I contacted this company for an estimate. They asked for a few photos of the problem and the label in the fridge, and then Marshall called back explaining the price and time frame for ordering the part. Scheduling the repair was easy, and Dave came in the agreed upon time frame and professionally completed the repair. I felt confident that he has a lot of knowledge and experience, and he took care to remove any debris/packaging. Update to company's response: Put simply, look how the company responded.."take a walk guy". Are you sure you want to give this company your business if they are willing to talk to customers like this online... Also they inaccurately provided information in their response...I was told on the phone the prior quote was $600 not $925 (do the math it's about 140% increase at 1500 updated quote vs 600) Again, please reconsider using this company, there are multitudes of other companies that have better reviews online, also their response to negative reviews are around trying to make things right vs telling you to "take a walk guy"... Tried to use this company to repair an issue that previous owner of new house reported. They insisted that we pay another $170 dollar diagnosis fee for them to come back out to the house and re diagnose the exact same issues that previous owners had the company diagnose (diagnosis was done about a year and a half ago). The fact that this company wants to charge to come out and reevaluate the EXACT SAME ISSUE that was previously diagnosed by the same company is completely absurd. I finally got them to provide me a quote (that included the $170 service fee) and they increased the price 140% from the prior quote noting parts and labor increases. I can understand a moderate increase due to the old quote being a year and a half old but 140% is completely insane and goes to show that the goal of this company is to not honor prior quotes (or even increase prior quote to accurately account for inflation, not 140%) but to nickel and dime their customers and squeeze every penny they can out of them all while providing horrible customer service and bad attitudes on the phone. Do not go with this company, I would recommend one of the multiple other companies available to service your appliances. read more

Appliance Marshall is the ONLY repair service we call. Their maintenance plan makes it very affordable to keep our highend appliances serviced/repaired and in top shape. Everyone we have worked with has been so knowledgeable and kind, especially Marshall. His passion for what he does evident. He is a true pro. Feel compelled to add a review here, after reading some of the negative reviews. Marshall is nothing short of amazing... frankly all of their team are extremely sharp and know their stuff. They go above and beyond to explain the details, the whys, and what they're doing. No one else we called could help us with our needs for a replacement cooktop for a very old-style installation, but Marshall researched it on his own time, gave us a direction, and helped us get sorted. DO NOT USE!!! They only temporarily fix problems only to have the problem reappear again. They will not honor there service warranty. They will flat out tell you no after you pay them! The rep that answers the phone is the most rudest person I've ever spoken to. She answers phones for a living but yet you would think she is in charge of the free world with her attitude. I was extremely happy with the service Appliance Marshall performed. I contacted them for a quote to install a new oven and was contacted promptly with a reasonable estimate, and then had a scheduled date within one week. The installers were friendly, professional and communicated well. Most importantly, they were competent and did a very careful thorough job, especially taking care not to damage any part of our home while moving around a 400 lb oven. On top of all this they went above and beyond by making a small minor repair on a separate appliance for us at no cost. read more

My wife called Marshall repair to come out and take a look at our hood which had the LED lights flickering. They came out and charged us $100 for the service call (which would go towards the total service charge at the end). After looking at the hood they said it needed a new transformer but they couldn't source the parts from their vendor. Their advice was to purchase a new hood for ~$300 and then have them take the parts out of the hood and install it into ours. This obviously didn't sound like the most economical option so we called the manufacturer direct and ordered the entire replacement LED/Transformer kit for $39.99. After calling Marshall repair back they said their vendor didn't have the parts and it was the only option they had. I would expect a little more effort than calling your one source and telling us we need to buy an entire new hood. read more

Today, even though is the 13th, was a great day for me and my BOSCH dishwasher. After going back and forth for couple of weeks with Home Depot and their "technician" who tried to convince me there was nothing wrong with their installation, I called on the real technician. I am really puzzled by the bad reviews. Maybe there's another side to these stories? I had a service repair man here to check out my washing machine. The repair fees would be excessive and both he and I decided that buying a new machine was the best option. Before he left my home he was nice enough to show me how to clean the filter on a dishwasher I recently purchased (to possibly avoid any service issues). I highly recommend this company. read more

We have a refrigerator that started freezing up around the 4th of July. I called a couple of local places based on review and Appliance Marshall was able to come out within a couple of days (vs at least a week for some others). Brian was very helpful and was able to quickly diagnose the problem. The parts were ordered and arrived within a week. We got excellent service from Appliance Marshall and were not overcharged! Brian came back quickly and fixed the problem and we found another problem they were able to fix. Overall, we were thrilled to be able to save our fridge for several more years vs. buying a new one right away. Brian was prompt, professional and very courteous! Appliance Marshall also has very convenient hours to work around any scheduling. Although we got a 4 hour window, Brian was always there within the first couple hours of that window. My dishwasher was part of a recent recall for the power cord. Bosch gave me Appliance Marshall as one of the services in my area to do the repair. Despite having custom cabinetry around the unit the technician, Brian, had the wood trim carefully removed, the cord replaced, and everything back in its place in less than 15 minutes. My floor was appropriately protected and everything looks as good as new. Some services won't even come to your home when they hear the words "custom cabinetry." That was no problem for Appliance Marshall. When scheduling, I had to go out an extra week in order to make sure I was available all day. However, I've dealt with many other companies where they can't give you a window days in advance. I don't fault them for that. It's pretty much usual and customary these days. I also didn't mind the four hour window they gave me when they called to confirm. In the repair business, they never know what they will encounter throughout the day. Brian was an amazing service technician. Polite, professional and articulate. He also gave me some helpful information about my appliance. I would not hesitate for a moment to call Appliance Marshall Repair. I highly recommend them. read more

Couldn't be more disappointed in this business. I spoke with Marshall regarding my malfunctioning Scotsman ice maker. I was told that frequently the diagnosis of these units was time consuming but that the service call fee would be waived if I were to bring the unit directly into his shop rather than having him drive a total of 1 hour to my home and back to service the unit. Once the ice maker was in the shop he could be more productive in diagnosing the problem as he could also be servicing other appliances during the period the ice maker took to make ice. Seemed very reasonable. I called the shop on Monday and was told there were no techs in the shop and for me to try again on Tuesday. I called first thing Tuesday morning and was told there were techs available in the shop and that I could bring it in anytime. I immediately drove the unit to their shop but upon arrival was told there were no techs in the shop to help me unload the unit(unit weighs about 100 lbs). Before unloading the unit, as I was filling out paperwork I was informed that the $150.00 service called was required. I explained what Marshall told me, however, she said that policy was changed within the past several weeks and that the service call fee was required even if no service call to the home was made. Why? This is an unacceptable business practice. I understand charging for time, parts and labor but there was no service call made to my home. The front office staff were very unprofessional and unhelpful. I will never use their shop and would advise others to avoid this repair center as well. They apparently can change their service fees at will. They do not honor their word and could care less about the customer.Terrible, terrible business. read more

Awful customer service! Took extremely long to schedule a service appointment. They gave me a four hour time window for the service technician to come out. After four hours of waiting nobody showed, I called the office they said that the service technician was still at his previous call and would be another 45 minutes. When I requested to re-schedule and be the first appointment they refused. Telling me that they would still have to give me the four hour time window. Extremely unaccommodating, unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and completely lack any integrity. I was appalled with the way they treated and spoke with me. I called Miele immediately and explained my situation. They were very disappointed with this outfit and are sending a senior Miele repair technician to service my machine asap. Not sure why Miele every decided to send business their way. Not the caliber of customer service I, nor Miele expect. They called me "demanding and unreasonable" because I was upset that they did not show up for my service call. I guess the 4 hour time window is too small for them to accommodate. They put in ZERO effort in trying accommodate me in any fashion. As if it were my fault that their technician was a NO SHOW! I just read your reply that FULL OF LIES that I will not even waste my time to address! Your "excellent service" is why you such high ratings on yelp, right???? read more

We had issues with our Viking Professional refrigerator. Technician Dave was outstanding. Very pleasant, detailed and solved the issue during our service call. He also adjusted a few items that we did not notice on the unit that we purchased from the very large appliance retailer in Glenview, which they should have done during the original install. Marshall came out the next day.... the Glenview store quoted over a week for an appointment. If we ever need service again - they will be our first and only call. We had Appliance Marshall Repair replace our Miele range. Called when they were on their way and arrived timely. They did an excellent job removing and replacing our heavy range, covering every inch of our new hardwood floors and entry door. Very knowledgeable about the range and how it operates. To summarize, timely appointment, careful installation and excellent knowledge! We would definitely use them again on any future appliance repairs. read more

Honestly, could not recommend this company. While they came out to diagnose the problem with my washer promptly, I had to wait 3 weeks for them to come back out with the part. I called at least 4 times during those three weeks to check status of the part and was told something different each time why the part wasn't in (even tho it had supposedly shipped the day after it was ordered). They finally came out to do the repair and charged more than three times what the part cost even tho it took the tech less than five minutes to pop the part in. And on the tech's way out after repair finished, he told me the part was only guaranteed for 3 months! Seriously? read more

It's been awhile (Nov 2014) since I used Appliance Marshall, but our washer is currently in need of repair and was reminded of this service (I guess I was a little more bothered by this than I remembered). Had just moved to the area and was looking for repair on our dryer and to find a company to continue to use into the future as repairs arise. Called Marshall and they came out to do the repair. Come to find out it was an easy fix...as in cleaning lint out of the vent that is outside the house. (First time home owner mistake...didn't do the correct problem solving). Not only did I provide the ladder for the repairman to reach the lint trap, he spent maybe 7 minutes at the house, 2 of those minutes were me writing out a check for $170. Totally ridiculous price for the (admittedly) ridiculous repair. Actually, it wasn't even a repair. It was $170 to blow lint out of the filter. There are better companies out there. read more

I have to stand by my negative review. The office lady is nice. But there is a substantial wait time to get service. In my experience a week roughly. Then you are given a 4 hour window in which the service person is supposed to show up. In my case the service guy really made me uncomfortable in my own home. And he contradicted his diagnosis which baffled me. He made a incompetent diagnosis resulting in HIM denying warranty repairs. So now I am hiring elsewhere with no long delay. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that he did not replace parts or components that he removed and in fact one is missing. Given the satisfaction of other reviews I figure that I am the exception and just got a bad repair person. I hope they replace this guy asap. I really hate to see a small business suffer because of one bad employee. The boss never knows what the help does when he's not around a few customers will say anything. They just go somewhere else. read more
