Hurricane Cavaliers was previously owned by a lady named Donna. Donna passed away suddenly and a woman named Amber has taken over this business. Amber and Donna were good friends and shared dogs for breeding. My puppy came from Amber with the stud owned by Donna at Hurricane Cavaliers. Our puppy was very sick within a short time after we purchased her from Amber. I tried and tried to text Amber to let her know what the problem was and she would not answer me back. Also tried calling as well several times. After being fed up for months of being ignored and called Donna for help. Donna had Amber get ahold of me quite quickly. All Amber could do is say that there wasn't anything wrong with my puppy and she stated if I brought the puppy to her, she would try and figure out what was wrong. 3 weeks later, I got my puppy back weighing 2 pounds less than when I dropped her off. She claims there wasn't anything her vets could find. She also told me that my Vet was just ripping me off. Within a week or so of picking her up from Amber, our puppy started going downhill again. I found a new vet and he figured it out pretty quick. They did an endoscopy on our puppy with biopsies. She has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She also has a problem with her eyes that require expensive medicine and daily application and expensive specialty vet visits. It took months to get my puppy feeling better. The purchase price was $3,000 and we have another $8,500 in vet bills. Amber will not honor the "health guarantee " I received with my puppy and she didn't bother to show up in court. After speaking to several rescues in this southwestern area, I have been told to avoid these puppy breeders at all costs. This was so heartbreaking to hear as I thought I did my due diligence to find a competent breeder. Cavaliers are expensive dogs that come with a host of medical conditions. I am just now reading all the terrible reviews. This lady came highly recommended from someone I personally know who was a breeder. It's terrible that the main woman passed away (I had no idea) but the family/estate needs to give back deposits. She took $500 deposits and no one is making good on the contracts. We contacted Hurricane Cavaliers around August about the litter due in Oct 2025. Amber said that we were the first ones asking for a tri color and if we signed the contract and submitted the deposit there shouldn't be an issue with us getting a puppy. After I sent her the deposit I never heard from her again and as of Dec 7, 2025 she hasn't posted anything about the litter. Please be aware, that sadly the owner of this breeding facility sadly passed away in July. We were on a waitlist, with a deposit since 9/2023, for a puppy in 9/2024. We found out purely by coincidence that Donna had passed away in July; there was no information on the website. Eventually a woman by the name of Amber showed up as a contact on the website . After reaching out to her in the second week of September, she responded to me and stated that we were slated for a puppy and she would be contacting me in the next day or so. Superior option for a healthy, well-bred puppy My wife and I did a significant amount of research when choosing option for a new family dog. We set our sights on a Cavalier based on their temperment, size, and beauty. But, with so many options to choose from and reading about the many poor health scenarios for puppies bred for quantity and not well-being, we wanted to be careful. We found two breeders in the Phoenix area with the parental pedigree and careful breeding we were looking for. By far, Donna, the owner of Hurricane Cavaliers, was the most professional and detailed. She was fast with her follow-up, had a great list of resources, handled starting the AKC process, and sent us home with a thorough binder when we picked our dog up to take him home. Donna was patient and answered every one of our questions. That she fosters and takes care of the retired breeding dogs was impressive-- especially when we met two 15+ year-old grandmothers. For a breed that we read averaged eight to 10 years of age, it matched out goal to spend more for a dog that would be healthy for a long time to grow up with our little girls. The dogs are not cheap by any stretch. That said, my wife and I agreed that spending less now only to spend more later in vet bills and seeing a companion suffer is something we wanted to avoid. One note: Competition for a Blenheim Cavalier is intense. A co-worker said something about them (especially females) being popular due to the show Sex in the City. After researching and reading the reviews, we adopted a Cavalier from Donna at Hurricane Cavaliers. Our puppy seemed to be healthy and happy until she approached two years old. One day, almost out of the blue, she started limping and it didn't go away. Concerned about her leg, we took. her to our vet. After several exams and x-rays, we learned our cute little Bella had an issue with her knees - luxating patellas. Worse yet, our girl also has a small heart murmur that our vet says will get worse over time. To date we have spent nearly $5,000 correcting the knee issue and we are VERY disappointed. We paid premium dollars and didn't get a healthy puppy. In the future, the heart condition will likely require costly medications and shorten her life. We are in love with Bella and heartbroken watching her pain from these health issues. We love Cavaliers and will adopt a fourth one in the future, but not from this breeder. read more

I have gotten 3 cavaliers from Donna and all have been amazing dogs, however my most recent one Vito (originally named Mateo) is both a stunningly handsome dog and intelligent dog. Donna is easy to work with and is honest. Being that I live in LA and she is located in Arizona, she's made each experience easy by texting me pictures and videos of the puppy, constantly emailing me and answering my questions, and either driving the dog to me, having someone else drive it to me, or someone fly it to me. We just got our puppy from Hurricane Cavaliers and they are a top notch breeder. You don't need to go far to get your dog as they are centrally located. Donna, the owner, is responsive and very helpful. When we picked up our little puppy at 8 weeks old he was already trained to go through a doggy door, crate trained, and potty trained to go outside. Of course he isn't trained to let you know when he needs to go out but at 8 weeks old he was far ahead of the curve. I am writing this review because before I purchased my dog from Hurricane Cavaliers, I tried to look up reviews on Hurricane Cavaliers. I am pleased to be a very satisfied customer and to post the very first review on yelp. Originally when I started my dog search, I tried to adopt but I had a hard time finding smaller dogs suitable for my 400 sq. ft. apartment, so I started to look for reputable breeders in MD, VA, DC, and PA. There is only a handful cavalier breeders around us and many didn't have a litter or all the dogs were already spoken for. After a year of fruitless searching I decided to expand my search to outside the east coast. That is when I happened across Hurricane Cavaliers. Based on the information from their website, they seemed to be the kind of breeder I was looking for (healthy lineage, strict breeding requirements, active show dogs, microchipped, akc registered, etc) but I was worried that they could be misrepresenting themselves online. Donna, the breeder, mentioned that the dogs were raised in her home on a 1+ acre property and when I google mapped her, that is exactly what I found. No puppy mill, no sad warehouse. Also she was nice enough to send me photos of the house, play area, and yard since I could not visit. During my search I visited three breeders near me: one exceptional breeder in Salisbury MD, who my sister bought a puppy from, and two whose cramped house smelled of pee and the older dogs didn't seemed potty trained. When a dog is use to urine inside the home it is very difficult to potty train them. My sister's 10 week puppy came litter trained because the breeder took the time to properly train and handle them even from a young age. My puppy from Hurricane Cavaliers was a dream to potty train because he too was properly trained. My previous dog (which I foolishly got from a kennel) was impossible to potty train even with extreme diligence because he was use to being around his pee and poo. When it came to the transportation of our dog, Donna made it very convenient for us. One of her friend is an airline stewardess so our puppy was carefully escorted in the cabin and not the cargo area. My husband met her at the airport and we got our first addition to our family. Our puppy came with the following: - microchip (which the vet scanned, verified, and added to his file) - binder filled with lots of useful info (lineage, akc info, health certifications and vaccinations, awesome tips, food info, etc) We LOVE our dog from Hurricane Cavaliers and we would get another from them in a heartbeat. read more

Update: we received Oliver, another Blenheim boy, on January 22nd when he was 8 weeks old. He is feisty and full of energy and loves to play and wrestle with his big sister, Willa. She secretly loves him and the play partner has been good for this couch potato!! He is precious and loves to play outside in his backyard and runs all over the place and digs trenches and loves the sprinklers - pretty much "all Boy".
