I live in Fours Seasons Farmington Macungie PA and they cut down a small tree that was planted in a pot on my back patio this pst summer!!! They have also whacked down perennials I have planted in my front landscaping. If they don't know the difference between a perennial and a weed, they should not be working for a landscaper!!! read more

They did a nice job, when they finally did it. Started the process in March and it took forever for them to respond. Even after we sent in our deposit it took them a long time to respond to emails and phone calls. Very poor receptionist answering the phone. Did a nice job but will not use for the rest of our house. read more

I live in Traditions of America Saucon Valley. Hursh is the group contracted to provide service (lawn and snow removal) to our community. In December, 2020 snow storm, the path to my front door was a snow-shovel width - about a foot wide. This was done by a 3-4 man (looked like kids) crew...one shoveling and the others watching. I thought it was initial prep for the final snow blower to come through...nope. Driveway was given a cursory plow (not to the blacktop) after a long period of waiting (was told one bobcat had mechanical problems, sigh). This storm ( February, 2021), it is now a full day after the storm. They did NOT work during the night (if they did, I didn't see or hear them). I have had no shoveling, plowing or snow-blowing at all. We are told to "be patient...it was a MAJOR storm" - yup, but it WAS predicted and they should have been prepared. I was told a bobcat was just sitting idle in the parking lot of the clubhouse, maybe more "mechanical problems"? I feel we are not even getting minimal expectations reached. I have had snow removal people at my other homes for over 20 years - NEVVER this horrible or late! Others could be heard at night plowing my driveway. read more

We had a representative from the company come to look at a landscape project two weeks ago. At that time the gentleman told us we would hear from them in a few days and he would be able to tell us more about the brick that would work. A week went by without a word. When my husband called to inquire, he was told that they respond within a week, and abruptly hung up. I called on Friday of that week and again was told that when she (I assume office person) got back to the office she would check. I asked her to call and leave a message on our landline...never heard a word. I called today and was told that we were sent an email explaining they couldn't meet our deadline (we NEVER GAVE ONE) and said they couldn't meet our needs. She didn't let me get in a word to let her know that 1. We never had a deadline, and 2. We never received any emails. She abruptly hung up on me. Is this how one treats potential clients? read more

I had them install a French drain. It took less time than I expected, they filed everything in and seeded, and I didn't have to clean anything up myself. Also costs me less than I thought I'd have to pay for all that work! I highly recommend this company. read more

I do not recommend using Hursh landscaping. They promised us they would match the brick in our current patio when we hired them to extend the patio. They installed grey bricks which do not match the original brownish brick and the grey bricks that were installed were different shades of grey. Some are dark grey and some are a very light grey. The result is not good and I have not been able to get any satisfaction from them. read more

Shawn Hursh literally accused me of pulling my own grass out of my yard, and throwing it onto my back patio so their men would have to come back and blow it off. They killed my plant and never replaced it. I have paid hundreds of dollars to establish my own landscaping. The guy cutting the shrubs butchered them. We have more crabgrass than ever in my entire community. They dumped snow in my yard from the winter of 2016-17 and damaged my yard and cracked both ends of my driveway. They never acknowledge the damage they caused from their equipment to my driveway and I had before (took picture prior to snow season) and after pictures. Not mowing up to property lines numerous times. Stop and go marks caused by lawnmower within our community. Tractor marks from going too fast in hilly areas when grass is damp/wet. Hursh does the snow removal and lawn care for our 55+ community. Putting it tactfully, their work leaves a lot to be desired. For example, when they spread chemicals for lawn care, they routinely miss about half of the ground coverage resulting in long stripes of green grass parallel to long stripes of dense weeds for the entire community. I complained once but was told by Hursh that the "striping effect" it is due to the large amount of rain we have been getting. That is total nonsense as the rain has nothing to do with it and the community across the street is all green without the alternating stripes of weeds. Before you consider hiring Hursh , I suggest you drive through Millbrook Chase along Lower Macungie Road in Lower Macungie Township and see for yourself. We can only hope that Hursh improves their services and starts taking pride in their work. If and when they do improve, I would be glad to report any progress and improvement, otherwise this review stands. read more

Hursh Landscaping is okay for up to eight inches of snow but when there is more than that or a big snow storm their service is HORRIBLE! We live in an HOA community and we are not allowed to have a snowblower so we are totally at the mercy of Hursh to get us plowed out. It took three days for them to come clear the driveways and they did not clear it sufficiently. In fact they plowed the snow from the driveway to places that totally blocked access to our walkways to our front doors. The snow is piled in some cases about 9 feet high at the beginning of the walkways. We are currently at Day 6 and they haven't worked on the walkways yet. Some neighbors have done their own. The owner writes emails of what will be done and they do not live up to their commitments. Glad to have a place to give a review and a Heads up of what to expect from this company. read more

Called for an estimate. Someone came out and completed the measurements for my landscaping job, but never called or emailed me back. I called twice asking about it. The first time I was told it takes 2 weeks to complete the estimate (makes sense). Called and second time and was told they would look into it, and I never heard back. No worries, if you can't complete an estimate timely what makes me think you can do the job... thanks anyways! read more

My community hired Hursh's for snow removal. Our contract is to pay a large sum monthly, whether it snows or not. And because of this horrible contract, we get shoved to the back of the line so they can make money hand over fist taking hourly contracts. There haven't been more than three workers here; one plow for the "first pass" of our two streets, a backhoe which did the "second pass" and then one ride on snow blower to do driveways. Needless to say, the majority of driveways are still unfinished. My husband and I worked for hours to clear our own driveway, their plow pushed a mound of snow from the street into the end of our driveway and when my husband returned home, he asked the Hursh's worker to please pull that snow back out so he wasn't parked in the center of our street. The worker declined but then changed his mind once offered cash to help. A company that takes your money and then doesn't perform as expected is NOT a company I want to do business with. And they plowed new, unoccupied homes and left most is us to fend for ourselves. It's maddening and deceitful. read more

I hired Hursh's to cut my lawn and take care of my landscaping. It's effortless--I don't even think about dealing with my yard anymore. They do a great job with my lawn and my bushes and hedges look great. They mail me a bill once a month, and I pay it with a credit card on their website. Yards are meant to be enjoyed. I don't have to do anything with my yard except enjoy it, thanks to Hursch's. And the price is VERY reasonable. I'm paying 20% less for my lawn than I was with my previous service, and Hursch's does a better job. read more

We hired this company in March 2017 for mowing, spring clean up and mulching and lawn care services such as fall aeration and fertilizing. Spring came and went and they never came. However i was billed for those services. Called to complain and the owner blamed her staff for the "mix up" and took it off my bill. A few weeks later they cut the grass way too short resulting in huge dead patches burnt to a crisp. We are daily grass waterers so it wasn't the summer sun that fried the grass. They told us it wasn't their fault and refused to reseed. Yes this is where i should have ended the contract but didn't. Then last week while we were on vacation, they came and fertilized and did grub prevention. Now i have multiple areas of dead grass that I get to pay for them too kill. We contacted them and the owner passed us off on another staff member that has yet to contact us. Today is our weekly mow day and they haven't bothered to show up yet. Needless to say they won't be doing any work for us again. read more
