Nice people to work with but the last two times at the house completely misdiagnosed a "problem" I had with my heat pump. Got a second opinion and their analysis was not accurate. Saved me a lot of money having someone else look at it. Had them out one more time and was charged an exorbitant amount for what amount to 15 minutes of work. Upon inspection in the attic is was not cleaned up as they said it would be. In summary, nice people, check their work, if something seems more expensive than it should be, get a second opinion. Be suspicious of "problems" that need to be addressed.

They were unsure which unit needed troubleshooting and did not bother to call for clarification. They went on site on Friday, and by Wednesday we still had no proper updates. They repeatedly told us they would submit a repair quote, only to finally admit--after 5 days--that they did not know what needed to be done because they were unsure which unit required service. This wasted 5 days of my time!When we asked to speak with the "owner," who was the one performing the assessment at the time, we were told, "You can't speak with him because he's busy working." We were also working and needed this issue handled promptly. If communication and follow-up cannot be provided because you are too busy "working," then that reflects very poorly on your business practices. The lack of accountability and honesty was extremely frustrating. :) And for future reference, the operator should never raise her voice at a customer. Professionalism and proper customer service should always be maintained. I was the one dealing with the issue and the unnecessary delay, so that response was completely inappropriate. I strongly recommend additional customer service training for her.

One of the power supply breakers to our unit was chattering and was hot. I called Compass and a technician was dispatched the next morning. He checked the situation and determined the breaker was failing due to age and not my HVAC unit..he obtained a new breaker and replaced the faulty one. The problem was solved better than new. First American could not find anyone wiling to do the work and told me to find an electrician and they'd reimburse me. I called several electricians in the area - none wanted to work on a 24v line, until I called Roger L Newman, Their attitude was "no problem" and they were out the next day and fixed my problem with no hassle at a very reasonable cost. They explained the problem, offered me a couple of solutions, and worked efficiently to get my VERY old a/c back working. Thank you very much Max and Hunter E., and the kind and efficient office staff who were so great at communicating with me. We fired Roger L Newman on the spot -- that was almost 15 years ago, and the system still works fine.

I want to warn people that Alex charges whatever he can get away with. I agreed to a $200.00 fee to…read morepressure test my gas lines and have him do the required gas safety inspection with the City of Farragut. He told me that after a pressure test on my gas line that there were two leaks in the gas line. He said the pipes could be rusted out and would need to be replaced. If I wanted this to pass inspection I had to okay his estimate for service for $1,155.00 This was $200 for his fee and $955.00 for the repair. I expected to be told that they dug up rusted pipes and replaced them. However, I found out that he subbed out the work to a plumbing company and the two leaks were minor. They involved changing the pipe tape where the fittings went together. This reminds me of going to the car dealer for a noise in the engine and being told it could be the transmission and if you really need to use the car then you have to approve the cost of repair. When coming back to pick up the car you are told it was just a belt, but, because you approved the cost of replacing the transmission, you have to pay $3,000 not $300 for a belt. I don't know if Alex Buie thought it is easy to take advantage of a person not present, or because it is easy to take advantage of a senior citizen, but the charge of $955 to replace the tape used where two fittings come together is exorbitant. I have no complaint with the work done, but I do have an issue with the ethics and the greed of Buie's Heating and Air Do not use this company if ethics and price are important to you.

DO. NOT. USE. Chaffee!! If they mess something while performing service, they will act like it was…read morenot their fault and just charge the customer to have it fixed!! They came out to the house on a Friday to clean the blower wheel and condensing coils, and I will add for free because previous techs had not been doing it correctly, is what they said. It really impressed me that they would do something like that. After the service was complete on Friday, the blower turned on, but shortly after, the unit completely stopped working, and the thermostat was completely turned off with a blank screen. Upon further investigation, they had not wired the transformer back up correctly and ended up ruining it. In the photos, the red wire was not supposed to be connected to the other red wire. Once, I called and went by the office to confront them about THEIR mistake!! Michael told me it WASN'T their fault and that parts just go bad and it would cost $230-330 dollars to fix. He claimed that if they felt it was their mistake, they would resolve the issue for free, but even with photo evidence, they were still denying THEIR mistake! I ended up buying a transformer for about $15 and wiring it up CORRECTLY, and the unit turned right on. I would watch out for this company; they will try to take advantage of you and be dishonest, even if all the evidence points to them being in the wrong.

Well the warranty company sends these guys out when i'm not here and their technician says that because apparently I messed with things that are issue started before our warranty kicked in. He said it was a pre-existing condition. How the hell would you know anything like that from AC unit? do yourself a favor and don't use this group because I'm pretty sure they're untrustworthy
