Amazing work done by some really amazing guys. They finished on time, showed up on time. There quality of work is beyond perfection.

I could write a book on how awful Husband for a day is. I was battling the fact that my Mom kept using them over and over during her dying days as she lost her battle with Cancer I had to fix EVERYTHING they touched. I am convinced it was the drugs as to why she would have EVER called them again. Here were the issues. 1. They were asked to screen in the porch which Dale (Husband for a day owner in Fenton Mi.) Called another franchisee of Husband for a day (a man Dale hired but didn't pay franchise fees on time WHILE he was doing the job for us) Well he called yet another contractor to lay the cement. Once winter came it froze and then split and cracked the entire porch. It ruined the entire job and the cement unrelated to the job, the porch, the sidewalk, the picnic area. So as my mom is sick and unable to speak I had to call to figure it out. Dale wouldn't take responsibility, and the guy he recommended and he hired had been fired so he wouldn't take responsibility and the guy who laid the cement wouldn't take responsibility because he did exactly what he was told to do by Husband for a day. This job alone took 30k off the sale price of the house due to the incompetence of the build. PLUS the cost to have it done. Nothing was refunded or fixed. 2. My mom had the Kitchen backsplash done. It was done so poorly​ ​by his employees that she demanded Dale come fix it. It had to be started over from scratch. It took 2 and a half months. She told me she wanted the upstairs kitchen done (I handled this) I called a real company that had actual experience in kitchen remodeling and it was done perfectly in 2 business days 3. She had the basement painted. It was supposed to be done by the time spring came so the painter (Jeff the drunk) could have 3 months to finish it over the winter. We called him Jeff the drunk. Need I say more? Matt (Dales son) finished the job 27 days late.The job wasn't even started until it was originally supposed to be finished, no refund no admission of fault ... Nothing. Jeff the drunk claimed it was "Payment issues" when I had proof it was prepaid tacked on the wall he was supposed to paint. Dale claimed that my Mom wasn't returning his calls after I had left 14 messages with "Andrea" (the receptionist) that I would handle everything. My Mom was unresponsive and in the hospital when Dale was claiming she wasn't returning his calls. It didn't matter who was told what... None of them speak to each other. 4. They covered light switches and vents. As in completely covered with drywall. They had to come back to fix the lazy incompetence of Drunk Jeff (Again). 1 month and a week after it was supposed to be fixed. Time mattered because my mom wanted to come back to home. She never made it back, it wasn't ready for her anyway and she died before they finished it. 5. The pulls on the cabinet doors were supposed to be put on. Also included in the prepayment. I did it the first day and we never got a refund because no one verified thoroughly that it was done. If I listed everything I had to fix it would be everything they touched. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Period. I will say that Dale is nice. but nice doesn't cut it. read more

I requested simple handyman repairs and had to have them send someone back out to repair the repair. After all that, the door they hung opened with the slightest wind gust. I just did my own repair. read more

Set up quote appointment with Andrea on July 5th for July 21st at 5PM (their earliest available). They did not show up to appointment or even bother to call and reschedule after I had spent time preparing and left work early to make appointment. On Angie's list he had replied to my complaint saying he wasn't sure what happened but I didn't make it to the quote calendar. Just proves how unorganized this business is. Husband For A Day helped us design and totally remodel our kitchen about 4 1/2 years ago, installing new cabinetry, granite counter-tops, sink, floor tile, along with new appliances and some necessary re-plumbing. We could not have been happier with the price, the work, and the pleasant & efficient staff. We are still getting compliments on the final outcome. Recently, now 4 1/2 years later, the laminate on one of the panels in our cabinetry began to bubble. All it took was one call to Husband for a Day, and they came by promptly examine the problem. When repair was ruled out, they were able to find an original replacement from the manufacturer (even though it was a discontinued product). Once delivered, they promptly installed it, and all at no additional cost to us. This company truly stands by its work. We highly recommend their services. read more

This is a warning, if you value your money and need the work done, do NOT use this company. We used them for repairs, we had a deadline to meet so we could refinance our house. They came out one day, did some repairs that were NOT on the list of repairs to be done, I paid them 1/3 of the money to do the repairs. Once they had $1250 of our money, the would set up time to come out, then just not bother to show up. This happened twice. On the first day, they dry-walled two of my cats into the wall, we had to reopen the hole to get them out. The hole is STILL there. I couldn't get them to come back and fix it. My husband and I left messages, emailed them, left more messages, all being completely ignored. Now we are needing to seek legal counsel in order to recoup some of the money we lost because they never showed up to do more work. We have hired another company and they have indicated the work that Husband for a day did was inadequate. We have missed our deadline for the refinance, they have our money, and we still have a gapping hole in our wall, as well as other repairs needing to be done. They are unprofessional, mediocre and don't care about the quality of service we as consumers deserve. read more
