1) Far more oversight and supervision of their crews/subs are needed during the roofing process: - $300.00 damage was done to our chimney brick during removal of existing roof. Husker Hammer reimbursed us for that expense upon receipt of our photographic proof of damage; - shingle scraps were left lying on our composite deck during heat and in direct sunlight leaving areas of tar residue that we had to remove with a power washer; - not all shingle ridge caps were installed in a straight line resulting in a visual distraction. 2) Husker Hammer mismanaged the required permit and inspection process: - the City of Omaha requires permits be obtained prior to any work being started. Not complying with that requirement can result in the City assessing a monetary penalty. Husker Hammer did not obtain a permit until 4 days after new roofing had been installed. Our signed agreement states Husker Hammer was to obtain the permit; - we were advised by the City of Omaha, 6 weeks after the new roofing was applied, the required inspection had not been requested and we need to notify our contractor to submit the request. We did so and the inspection was conducted 7 days later. 3) Husker Hammer ordered two replacement skylights that were not as specified in our agreement: - the larger of the two replacements was reordered resulting in the need to for the roof opening to be temporarily patched,for 5 weeks until the correct skylight could be installed - the smaller of two replacement skylights was also not ordered as we specified and was installed without our approval. Husker Hammer advised it could be modified in place with the shade option we had requested. The shade option was ordered and arrived 5 weeks later. However Husker Hammer personnel did not properly install it. Husker Hammer then referred us to the manufacturer's local representative for resolution. The manufacturer's representative was very helpful. He is arranging for the delivery and installation of a new shade by one of their certified installers. 4) As 10/6/25, we are entering in our fourth month of resolving issues with the reroofing our home by Husker Hammer. read more

We were recommended Husker Hammer as roofers this spring by a family friend. Upon contacting them, they were quickly responsive and came to give us an estimate for our needed roof and gutter replacement. Materials were delivered and the entire crew arrived, reroofed, cleaned and left in eight hours. We did not find a single nail or piece of debris anywhere in our yard. The professionalism was great. When our insurance company made an error and caused a three month delay in payment, Matt was extremely understanding. I cannot recommend Husker Hammer enough to someone looking for a new roof. Thank! The review that I gave Husker Hammer 6 years ago with a 5 Star rating was before we had to hire another company a couple of weeks later to fix our skylight after Husker Hammer told me that they had repaired that skylight after it started leaking in our Living Room after their shingle installation. We went on vacation and when we returned a major part of our ceiling had come down which required a major and expensive repair. I would not let Husker Hammer anywhere near my house again. Two stars were given for the shingles that are still in tact, with a hope that they will stay that way. My next door neighbor had to have his Husker Hammer shingles replaced because of faulty Husker Hammer shingles. read more

We had damage in the June 2017 Bellevue storm. Husker Hammer came out and gave us an estimate on the roof which our insurance company was replacing. We decided to go ahead and get new windows and siding too (we'd been saving up for it for a few years and figured this was a good time). We went back and forth over colors/style, and had some conversations with Aaron about what was really important to us (insulation!). I can honestly say we've probably not been the easiest customers but they've been very patient. They've finished the roof. Great job, fast and good cleanup. We're just waiting for windows to arrive and siding to go on. There's been a bit of a delay on getting the windows (not sure why) but other than that we're very pleased. read more

I would like to share with you all my review of Husker Hammer, and more specifically Aaron from Husker Hammer. To start, I was initially impressed with Husker Hammer because they went out of their way to tarp my roof and remove branches while away on my honeymoon. I thought going with this company would be a great experience. Instead, I had to deal with contractors who didn't show up when Husker Hammer said they would which put a delay on the work they were scheduled to do. I had to rearrange my schedule on several occasions to make sure the contractors would show up as expected. The contractors were not informed by Aaron and/or Husker Hammer specifically on what work needed to be done. When they came to the house, they looked around and said they'd be back to do the work the next day. They wouldn't show the prices of the material on the contract, and the lack of communication was very appalling. After all of the hassle, the work on the contract wasn't fully completed and they decided to do some things different without permission. I checked everything on my contract for proper completion of the work, and there was $680 worth of work that wasn't completed. At no point did they try to contact me about any work that didn't need to get done or work that they were going to do as upgrades. I had to reach out to them when I noticed the vents that were on the contract weren't installed, but instead an upgraded, more costly vent was installed. The contract stated that any upgrades or changes would be OK'd by the homeowner prior to the start of work being done. When I brought this up with Aaron, he proceeded to argue. He held the tarping of the roof above my head, so he wouldn't have to take off the $680 worth of charges. I was able to get the charges removed only after setting up a meeting with Matt, the president of Husker Hammer, and Aaron. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a meeting with Matt and Aaron. On the morning of the meeting, Aaron removed the $680 charge and canceled the meeting saying that he talked with Matt about it. It makes me curious as to how many homeowners they've done this to without their knowledge of it, because people expect that Husker Hammer will do the right thing as with any reputable company. I will never recommend this company to anyone because they don't care about customer retention. They have treated me poorly and tried to scam every dollar out of me that they could. To be frank, it's been a horrible experience. I hope this review helps you choose your next company wisely. read more

Husker Hammer repaired our siding and installed a new roof. They did a good job on the roof but we've had several issues with their siding work which needed to be resolved. They were fairly responsive to make corrections at first, but they never followed through on some trim around a door frame that they badly botched. They haven't ever returned to complete it and it's been ore than a year. read more

The Husker Hammer team went above and beyond my expectations when I experienced damage last summer's hail storm. I cold called Matt Cradick to assess the damage on my roof. Matt met with me and my insurance company's adjuster and engineer. His goal was that I would be treated fairly during this process. He did all of this work with no commitment from me to work with his firm. Once my roof was deemed to be a total Ossetia I did contract with Husker Hammer to replace my roof. The same level of professionalism that I experienced prior to the sale contained through the the entire replacement process. I highly recommended Husker Hammer. read more

DID NOT HONOR CONTRACT. Nine days after reaching an agreement with the president of the company and giving them my credit card for down payment. I was called back and told they would not be able to do the job for the agreed upon price. I'm sure they want to focus on jobs that have a better profit margin right now following the recent hail storm. But we had a contract that they did not honor. Husker Hammer recently replaced my roof on a recall from Atlas. I choose them because they had installed the original shingles and brought the recall from Atlas to my attention. During install they had to remove my satellite. I am not sure what happened in the process but I do know after they mounted it again it does not work. I am waiting for satellite company to fix which will be a total of 5 days before they can come out. Husker Hammer refused to pay the service call for the satellite repair claiming they dont fix it unless they brake it. Well? I have contacted Atlas to inform them of Huskers response to the situation. They have ask me to put event in writing so they can review and attach to my file. This is just bad business. The cost was only $50. You brake it you fix it. Good service you tell 4 people about bad service you tell 12. read more
