After her (presumed) first walk of the day, she asked to get up and do it again in a few hours. The response was that it wasn't possible, the staff "were too busy for that". Note -- her surgeon AND hospitalist emphasized that the point of a SNF was doing her exercise regimen 3x daily and having staff to help her improve her mobility at other times of day......... Hi there, ICC staff, have you read her doctor's notes and treatment plan? Are you planning to simply not follow that plan? I'm honestly really worried that my grandma's health will get worse in her stay here. If the staff can't be bothered even when the patient asks for assistance....... Will they bother to make sure the patient is using their incentive spirometer, so that their very high risk elderly patient doesn't get pneumonia? Will they bother to take care and measure an elderly diabetic patient's blood glucose? Will update this review after her stay is over. First of all, is a perfectly beautiful location on the waterfront. The facility itself is so cute, they put flower pictures everywhere and big cutout of flowers to make it look like you're living in a garden. All the staff works so hard and truly care about the patients. We have been so happy with Rita at the front desk, Christabel the manager, and all our nurses, Mark, and Andrine, Ohnee, Marina, and Julieta in housekeeping. Ofra in charge of activities has been just terrific, we bring my four small kids and she lets them play with some of the activities for the patients and I think all the elderly people enjoy having the energy of the kids around. Oh, and the PT/OT team has been terrific. Susan and Alex work hard every day to get my mom on her feet and moving. Our end goal is, like Rita says, "they roll in and they walk out!" Skilled nursing is a difficult job and I think they all do it with great grace, patients, and care. I highly recommend Covenant living at the shores.

Over just four days, he gained 14 pounds. We visited every single day and reviewed his chart ourselves. The chart showed no significant weight change until the fourth day, when it suddenly reflected a 10-pound gain. No one contacted us. No one expressed concern. Alarmed, we examined our father ourselves and discovered his feet and legs were massively swollen. This was on a Saturday. When we called the head weekend nurse, he was not at all alarmed. We demanded that a doctor be contacted, but were told that no doctor responded because it was the weekend. To make matters worse, the room smelled like urine, and his medications were disorganized. While weekday care had seemed acceptable, the weekend care was completely unacceptable. Fearing for our father's life, we called 911 and had him transported back to the emergency room. In the first day alone, doctors removed 7 pounds of excess fluid. That fact speaks for itself. This was outrageous and dangerous negligence. If you place a loved one at Covenant Shores, do not rely on what you are told. Go every day. Look at the charts. Look at their body. Ask questions. Trust your own eyes. Never again will we allow this kind of treatment to happen to our family.

My father was admitted to Bellevue Post Acute after a stroke on April 30, 2026 for rehabilitation…read more Prior to admission, he was able to walk with assistance and was expected to receive physical, occupational, and speech therapy to improve his condition and prepare him to return home. Unfortunately, our family's experience was deeply disappointing. During his stay, I frequently observed my father sleeping, difficult to engage, and often unable to participate meaningfully in conversations. By the time he was discharged approximately three weeks later, his physical condition appeared significantly worse than when he arrived. The medical records provided by the facility show that his Quetiapine (Seroquel) regimen was increased from once daily to twice daily during his stay. The records also show administration of melatonin and olanzapine. Physical therapy notes documented that he was "extremely somnolent" and required maximum verbal and tactile cues to stay awake, and the therapist consulted nursing staff regarding possible medication adjustment. Most concerning, the physical therapy discharge summary states that the patient exhibited "little to no functional progress as a result of skilled rehab." For a patient admitted after a stroke specifically for rehabilitation, this is very troubling. The discharge process was equally disappointing. Despite my father's significant physical limitations, our family received inadequate support in arranging post-discharge services. Necessary referrals, home health coordination, caregiver assistance, equipment recommendations, and follow-up services were not properly organized before discharge. We spent weeks trying to obtain referrals, records, and assistance that should have been addressed as part of discharge planning. The lack of social worker support and care coordination at discharge left our family struggling to secure the services and equipment my father needed. Instead of a smooth transition home, we faced delays, confusion, and significant additional stress while caring for a stroke patient with substantial mobility and cognitive challenges. In addition to concerns regarding his care, obtaining records has been an ongoing challenge. Despite repeated requests, I experienced significant delays in obtaining documentation related to an incident that occurred during his stay. While some medical records were eventually produced, I continue to seek incident reports, investigation records, witness statements, and other documentation related to the event. Every family must make their own decision, but based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this facility to closely monitor their loved one's medications, therapy participation, rehabilitation progress, discharge planning, and communication with family members throughout the stay. This review reflects my personal experience and observations, as well as information contained in records provided by the facility.

Wanted a quality place where she would feel at home and be able to make friends and socialize and stay busy. The Executive Director, Madelyn, is absolutely fabulous to work with, you can tell she really cares about the residents and has a passion for what she does. The support staff and activities team are all so welcoming, smiley and overall great to be around and provide a very warm and welcoming vibe for residents and visitors! We did some extensive research into assisted living facilities and this was by far my #1 choice for reasons I will list below: 1. The amenities - activities galore and always changing, well thought out and the activities staff are friendly and are proficient in social engagement for the elderly and cognitively impaired. They do a good job of offering lots of engagement opportunities for residents. 1.a. - Addtl ammenitites - attached bistro that is open to the public, resident key required for entry from bistro into the facility. Nice for a little change of scenery 1. b. - Addtl - salon on site! Addtl fee, but there is a hair salon ON SITE ... I believe they might do nails as well but not sure... but this is SO convenient for those that don't drive and don't want to hassle with booking the resident shuttle LOVE LOVE This! & it's right off the entry way so it has a nice window view to the street 1. c. - Addtl - shuttle! The resident shuttle can be booked to take vehicle-less residents to their doctors appointments, or any other places within a 5 mile radius that they need to go! They typically have a weekly grocery trip on the activities calendar as well, so there's a pre-planned trip that everyone can go on for any grocery needs. 2. The facitity itself - always clean, very beautifully decorated, love the small touches of real flowers on the lunch tables when they have them as well as holiday decor, little snack and treats in the lounging area with some fresh water, apples and cookies, great layout of the facility, good location with a decent flat walkway right out front that residents can go for easy walks. Elavators with key required access to go to up resident floors. Location is RIGHT down the street from Overlake hospital, which is convenient, we did have to go there one evening when gma was having dizziness and vomiting and it only took a few minutes to get there. VERY convenient for healthcare reasons. 2. a Rooms - rooms are somewhat small but are perfect size for one or two people that are mostly going to be out and about in the facility the majority of the day. Each room has decent views so that is very nice (we looked at several different options of rooms before choosing). The bathrooms are large and perfect for safety for the age range of target residents. Linens and house keeping are provided once a week!!! Yay!!! 3. Care & safety - The assisted staff bring meds in the AM and they do nightly safety check rounds, call button lanyard for each resident and emergency safety pulls in each restroom in the facility and in each private resident restroom. RN on staff with 24/7 staff on site who can call the on-call RN if needed. Concierge staffed desk during the open hours of the facility, which is so nice there's always someone monitoring who is coming in, check in required with name badge. Resident key required for elavators up to floors! 4. Food & dining - the food is excellent and a well thought out rotating menu. Some of the same, regular items available, but always a new highlighted daily menu with new and exciting items. The food is clearly quality and cooked well, they didn't hire just anyone, the chef is a real chef! The dining room is open access all day from AM until dinner time, I think they close up at 6pm. 5. Staff - how the facility chooses their staff and what type of staff they have on site says a lot. All the staff during my visit seems welcoming, pleasant, smiling, helpful and overall enjoyed being at their jobs. The long term care sector can be one that is overlooked and underserved and we were not going to choose a place that hires people that don't want to be at their jobs because caring for loved ones is a very important role and this was a huge factor for us as well. 6. Price - price is expensive but honestly is similar to other facilities yet far exceeds in value above and beyond the others that we looked at. We visited this place about a year prior to moving Gma in, they allowed us to come for a complementary lunch and activity to get a feel and be shown around and all that. Mom and I visited, did the tour and looked at rooms and a later date I brought Gma for lunch and an activity. I was very pleased with the experience and recently visited Gma in Oct of 2025, a few months after she moved in, for about a week and a half. The experience was nothing less than the prior visit! A+++ would HIGHLY recommend!

This was the first place that understood her requirements, met them and provides amazing personalized care. Dee, Mary, Melissa and their team of caregivers are amazing. The setting is surprisingly tranquil for Renton and is in a beautiful home. Only one of the 5-6 rooms has a private bath. There is 24x7 constant care. The doctor makes house calls once a month! What can I say? With Sunset Gardens our family and mother would have been in serious difficulty.
