I recently came in for orientation to become a Sunrise employee and am impressed with the cleanliness and presentation of the building - inside and out! They have painted the rooms so that its not just LED lighting and white walls that give headache vibes. Instead, it feels professional and comfortable. I had to spend 5 hours here on this recent visit and look forward to the 75 hour training where 4 full days will be spent in person at this location. There are parking spots on both sides of the building but you are able to go from one side to the other if you park on the wrong side. There's a kitchenette with coffee, water, and a place to store lunch but I always recommend bringing your own and not bringing anything you need to heat up. This way everything is easy for you and you can maximize your break time without having to hassle over meal preparation. I highly recommend Sunrise if you want to become a caregiver, and they do have internal pay rates once you are certified. The classes make sense, and are hybrid so 4 of the days are in person, the rest are online at home. It's a great way to get certified and allows you to start work quickly while being fully prepared.

I am at the point of employing a lawyer to send them a cease and desist letter, so I can make their compassionate reminder, a cruelty in disguise, stop!!This is one company I shall surely avoid.

My Mom had home hospice care from Providence in the last months of her life. One evening I got an urgent text from Mom saying she thought she was having a heart attack and the nurse was trying to walk her thru which meds to take on the phone but Mom was too doubled over in pain to even see her prescription bottles clearly. So I went racing over there and got on the phone with a very calm nurse who told me which meds to give my by-now-greatly-suffering mother. I asked her if anyone from hospice was coming since this appeared to be a medical emergency. Hospice is supposed to be all about comfort care, and Mom was clearly in huge discomfort, to say the least. They balked at the idea of coming in person, at least not until the "shift change." They don't want you to call 911 for a person in hospice care, but I asked if I could do that, and they said,"What do you hope the outcome of that will be?' OMG, what a stupid question! As the night progressed, I spoke to various nurses and others answering the phone at the hospice center. One of them callously told me that everyone dies eventually. I had the phone on speaker so I'm sure Mom heard that. That night we learned that hospice must be Latin for "You're on your own." Mom somehow survived that evening and passed away recently. The hospice nurse who was there at that time was empathetic, so there is that. And the bath aid and occupational therapist that Mom had were both nice. But overall a far from ideal experience.

In short I've heard very good things about their hospice…read morecare, though obviously some folks have also had bad experiences (just within these Yelp reviews). This is a home-health review. Nothing truly disastrous happened, but it was a very mixed bag and wasted a lot of time. In long The positives were the physical therapy and the bath aide. Both compassionate, helpful, organized, and motivating. Really good, capable people who deserve all the credit in the world. The bad starts with occupational therapy. He has since retired for medical reasons of his own, so he's no longer a liability. But he was a mess on his best days. He would call to schedule an appointment and talk to my wife about nothing--one time for over an hour. And he would complain about being overworked and not having time to get things done. Maybe if a 30-second scheduling call could take place in 30 seconds, rather than 60+ minutes, you'd find your calendar more manageable. He also complained repeatedly about how state authorities unjustly investigated him at past companies. Not exactly confidence-inspiring. He would come over to tape up a shoulder for my wife, and literally watch a YouTube video on his phone about how to do it....*during* the session. You don't know how to tape a joint? C'mon, man. At least do that in your car before you come in. He would come up with inadequate solutions, too. Her shoulder needed a little more support from the arm of her wheelchair. Instead of recommending a thicker armrest, he stacked up pieces of styrofoam packaging from a parcel he had received at home. Obviously that's easy to knock off and she loses the support. When we switched to outpatient OT/PT later in the year, the OT found a perfect armrest online for under $30 and we still use it. The case manager was another disaster. He was OT by trade, but clearly not up to date, and not focused on what he should be doing. He came over for an eval and she mentioned that climbing stairs would always be a big goal for her. She had tried with PT with mixed results, since her dropfoot made her feel unsteady. He took her to the main stairs in our house. They're narrower and shallower than the front stoop, which the PT had wisely been using when she had her try stairs. She felt unstable after one stair, so he tried to talk her into taking her ankle brace OFF. Thankfully, she questioned this, left it on, and got back to her wheelchair quickly. Having her tumble down even 2 stairs could have been pretty awful, to say the least. Thankfully, we got her into outpatient care not much longer after that. It certainly could have been better, but it was a huge step up from Alpha, and she never felt unsafe at all. Turns out that the best therapists tend to work at in-patient rehab facilities, where they can see the most patients the most often throughout the day, and make the biggest difference. Home health usually falls below outpatient care in competence, from what we understand. Thankfully, she's found a better company for her current home care. Glad to be done with these busters.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I agreed to admit…read moremy grandmother to hospice around January 2025. I have no complaints regarding the care as it was adequate and communication from the care staff was consistent. My grandmother did well enough that she was discharged alive from their services. You would think this was a positive thing, but it has been a bureaucratic nightmare. On May 18, 2025, my grandmother was discharged alive from hospice, but reported DEAD to social security. This has caused her to no longer receive benefits from social security, her pension has been shut off, her bank account was suspended. As her power of attorney I have spent a minimum of 200 hours trying to remedy this situation. My grandma has no money, resulting in being unable to pay her caregiver the appropriate participation fee. She now faces potential homelessness at 95 years old. I am still working with SSI to have her deemed alive. I am still working to have her pension reinstated. I was able to get her bank account reopened. It has been over 4 months. I now have to pay out of pocket for her medications as she no longer has insurance, due to being reported as DEAD. My problem with Alpha Hospice is that they are so completely unhelpful. They provided a letter in June stating THEIR MISTAKE and that she is alive. Since then they have not returned my multiple messages for assistance. I would estimate more than 10. I am a hospice nurse for a different hospice and am absolutely APPALLED at their lack of accountability. I would never recommend this organization to my worst enemy. I cannot adequately describe the difficulty this hospice has caused me. 0/10 do not recommend
