They typically carry one of everything, but not necessarily a lot of variety. But that's ok! I love that all the people that work there are townies, and the cashiers are generally SSP Packer High School students. I'm grateful for Knowlans for being the place I can run to quickly for that last minute ingredient or item. However, Knowlan's is rarely a place I go to when I need to do my weekly grocery shopping. The lack of variety and hit-or-miss or hard to find produce usually drives me regrettably to Cub or Rainbow.

I am all about supporting small and/or locally-owned businesses, but this place just feels like…read moreit's not even trying. The store itself is outdated and the atmosphere is depressing. What is also outdated is the selection. The produce section is very small and the frozen/unhealthy foods sections are very large. The deli selection is also small and overpriced, in my opinion. I live close by, so have stopped in here on numerous occasions to pick up just one thing, and they often do not have it. Today, it was pita chips. Fucking pita chips. But they had plenty of Lay's Southern Biscuits and Gravy-flavored chips (GROSS). I would rather just wait until the weekend and go into downtown St. Paul to shop at the farmer's market. While customer service here is usually friendly, speed and efficiency are not their strong points. There will be one checkout open and three or four employees just milling around, even if the line is several people long. Sell more produce and less packaged, processed crap!

It's truly a one-stop shop--part grocery store, bakery, deli, gift shop, and even a spot to grab kitchen supplies. This time around, I came specifically looking for a piñata, and they had a great variety to choose from. You can tell a lot of care goes into curating the products here. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and more than happy to answer all my questions. And let me just say--it smells amazing inside. I was so tempted to grab some pistachio ice cream, but sadly I wasn't heading home and didn't want it to melt. Next time, for sure! Whether you're shopping for groceries, picking up a treat, or just browsing, Mexatlán never disappoints.

They have a variety of gifts, bakery goods, produce, deli area, also an area where you can have different types of cooked meals. I decided to get a pound of carnitas which was delicious! They came with a pack of tortillas and salsas. People were very friendly and this was all in Spanish. They have a variety of products from South American as well not just Mexican products. They had a great selection of everything honestly! I'm looking forward to coming here again and bringing my family. When I went the road was under construction but you can still access the parking lot.

It's nice that you don't have to go too far down Concord from the highway to get to it. The place was clean and had a lot of options I didn't expect for the area. Which is really nice. They offer food, but I think it's only available on the weekends. They also carry some items I didn't expect to see in store, like Mizu Lab electrolytes. Didn't interact with anyone working the store part, they didn't even acknowledge my existence if I'm being honest but that's an Asian store for you. Everything was clean, well stocked for its size, lots of options. Not much fresh produce but that's okay. They also carry Jolibee at this location that they pick up from Chicago like they do at the Burnsville location. Nice option to have when you don't want to do the St Paul trek. Try their deli out if you get a chance.

I didn't know they had crispy pork until I heard one of the customers order it as it's at the back but they do have a small sign by the counter and they sell it by the pound! Absolutely delicious but probably bad for you if you're avoiding fried food. I didn't care, I like it! A great place to have a bite with friends or family and then shop around for some Asian treats. We certainly indulged in our shopping and bought some baked goods that were made in Minnesota but with Filipino recipes. Truly a good find and worth the drive!
