It's the kind of place where you want to be a regular. Maybe that's their strategy, have so many things to choose from, so much stuff to look at and such good food that you just keep coming back over and over. Well, it's working on me! It's important to take some time looking at all the different frozen options. There is a ton of variety for sides, meals and everything in between. Pretty much anything fresh at the counter can be picked up frozen for a later date. The lasagna, onion rings and tater tot hot dish are sure things. All your classic cuts of meat are in stock but you'll probably notice the assortment of beef sticks, delicious! Flavors are subtle, I haven't tried them all but nothing was overwhelming. My go to is definitely a couple smoked sausages though, a signature item easy to heat up and enjoy. You will notice the decor...Classic model trains, cars, collectible toys and countless other nostalgic memorabilia. It's like a museum mixed in with a butcher shop. Plus, they process wild game and buy guns!

Came to Osseo Meat Market during the Thanksgiving weekend. We were responsible for BBQ Friday after Turkey Day. I had heard about this place but had no idea what I was in for. Waking in gives you a throwback to the small city butchers of years past where the guy behind the counter knows your name, your preference and what I like. My wife had sent me in for several things: bulk ground beef, brats and slab bacon. The beef is a better deal than Costco and the grade is where you truly noice the difference it's fantastic. They have pre packed 10 1 lb. bundles and per pins options. Their steaks are amazing and they have a huge selections of homemade brats and hotdogs. There is a sign on the wall that says our competition might have cheaper meat but it reflects their quality and they know it, the meat here is really good. They have a small store of spices, rubs grill supplies homemade specialties like chicken pot pie and there staff is so helpful/. Lastly the decor is really cool, I won't do it justice but there are old guns, accessories, classic trains and throwback memorabilia that gives Osseo Meat a cool vibe. I love having a place this cool close to home and will be using them for daily dining and all big parties !

Wonderful place, they recently made a card minimum purchase amount of $10 which has made me go there less though.

it is a tender type of jerky with tons of flavor and not hard to eat (which is hard to say when it comes to jerky).

I finally made it over around lunch time and apologized in advance because I wanted to "taste test" a variety of different items. The gentleman who was helping me was super patient and just overall thrilled to have me wanting to try so many things so this was my spread & reactions: 1. Turkey jerky - very interesting compared to others I've had, a bit too salty for my liking but my husband said it was in his top 2 and is a turkey jerky fiend so I'd take his word over mine 2. Normal jerky - a little thinner than I prefer but really great flavor, easy to chew without being too soft nor hard like leather. It's in MY top two for sure! 3. Beef stick & cheese beef stick - these were both really good! The butcher helping me recommended trying the cheese because it's his personal favorite but I actually thought the normal beef was actually better! 4. Smoked salmon - this was actually my favorite of all the different snacks we tried, it was smoked really well that brought out the natural flavors of the fish. It wasn't dry or crumbled, but kept its own and easily was devoured without any morsel left behind! Although I didn't try anything from the freezers, they had such a huge variety we just have to come back again soon! Thanks for the great service and hospitality while I took forever to explore!

This place is dope…read more First time I walked in, I thought the guys behind the counter were giving me a little attitude. Like they knew everything about meat. Turns out, they fucking do. You ask a question, they've got an answer. Ask another one, now you're learning about cuts you didn't even know existed and suddenly you're standing there reconsidering your entire weekend barbecue strategy like a man staring at religion through a glass display case. That's the problem with this place. You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab some hamburger and maybe a couple steaks," and five minutes later you want to leave with half the damn store. They've got custom sauces, spices, rubs, marinades, meat enhancements, all the stuff that turns a backyard cookout into the kind of meal where people stop talking for a minute after the first bite. I've been to a few butcher shops around the city, but Ready Meats feels different. No gimmicks. No artisanal nonsense. No guy in suspenders trying to sell you parsley foam for nineteen dollars. Just meat. And people who know meat. Which is kinda the whole point, ain't it?

The staff was super helpful--especially Casey, who took the time to chat with me and recommend a few of his personal favorites. I ended up picking up a variety of brats, some garlic bacon, and seasoned pretzels. Everything looked and tasted fresh, high-quality, and clearly made with care. It's great to have a place like this nearby with such a solid selection and friendly service. I'll definitely be back soon--this is exactly the kind of local spot worth supporting.

At lunch,…read morethere can be a mad rush for their classic roast beef sandwich, but the staff handles the crowd with efficiency and detail. I was on the street in front of Clancy's when one of their customers was mis-identified as an officer of an organization that was terrorizing Minneapolis. It had nothing to do with Clancy's! As I tried to get to my car, people yelled the most obscene and disgusting epitaphs at the couple in front of me. I was just walking down Grand Avenue. They were even spitting at this innocent individual. As a liberal who marched for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam during the 1960s and 1970s, I was horrified. Blaming Clancy's is ignorant, and an integral part of how this country is dismantling. Clancy's Meats & Fish is important to our neighborhood, and represents the kindness and empathy that has been representative of Minnesota for decades. Give them your support.

On one side is a meat market with a variety of cuts of steaks, lamb, and other meats, which all looked fresh and quite nice. They also have a variety of items such as canned goods, pasta, eggs, etc. on the shelves opposite the meat counter. The entire place is quite sunny, pleasant, and cozy. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.

Great place - 5 stars!…read more I've been buying most of my meat products from Coborn's in Ramsey for many years. But I haven't been very happy with the "Four Brothers" brand. (The previous "Kretschmar" brand was even worse.) Fortunately, I visited Anoka Meat and Sausage for the first time and I'm very impressed. This is definitely my new go-to spot for my zero-carb, meat based diet. This place has nearly everything you could ever want from a meat market. Plus, they have tons of extra specialty products like spices, rubs, sauces...and more. And they're the ONLY place I've found (so far) in my local area that offers bacon with no added sugar! I don't know why it's is so hard to find processed meat with no sugar. Companies insist on throwing sugar in every damn food product and they even do it with meat...rotisserie chickens, hot dogs, sausages, hot dogs, jerky, brats, bacon, braunschweiger, etc. Don't believe me? Read the labels. They try to hide it by listing sugars on the ingredient label as organic cane juice, turbinado sugar, sucanat, molasses, honey, dextrose, kings syrup, invert syrup, maltose...you name it...they try to sneak it in everything. I found a website that lists sugars by 65 difference deceptive and sneaky names. It's sad. I guess the big food companies want everyone to be diabetic. Last but not least, the employees are very friendly and I feel the prices are very reasonable. You can go to Main Street Anoka and buy a high end product for the same price (or less) than the big box grocery stores with questionable quality. What's not to love? Thumbs up! -Maxx
