More over when you walk into the place you can see all the cool kitschy stuff on the wall? panel freezers with all kinds of ready made items to accompany your meat purchases Probably my favorite section is the cured meats area. Their bacon is so good, thin or thick sliced...or they can cut it to your requested size. Breakfast sausages are amazing too, but probably my favorite thing here is the beef sticks! Plenty of flavors to choose from, but I will tell you the best of the lot is the smokey cheddar beef sticks. This is your place for meat, meat questions, meat accouterments, and many other others. This place is incredible. The bacon here is the best that I've ever had (and I've had a lot of different types of bacon). The prime rib jerky is also amazing.. it is a tender type of jerky with tons of flavor and not hard to eat (which is hard to say when it comes to jerky). They have a lot of other products as well.... good coffees, amazing local honey, different types of sauces and seasonings, just a lot of options for meats and great, clean, local options! The service here is really great as well, they are always friendly and accommodating and helpful! Definitely will be back here time and time and time again! read more

Never been here before and it was super cute when entering,lots of mini cars and trucks on display! Unique items to buy I really liked what they had to sell and a big selection of meat sticks and butcher cut meats The butcher/man behind the meat counter was very friendly and helpful This could have been a 5star experience but the cashier / manager? Lady was obviously having a bad day and so rude and grumpy to us form the start - She didn't tell us nicely about the credit card purchases have to be over $10 - we saw the sign when we checked out so that was fine but she was annoyed that our previous purchase at the meat counter was paid for by CC and it was literally $9.30 - btw there were no signs there and the other staff member did not inform us otherwise we would have paid with cash at that point, so she made a point of redoing the purchase and complaining about how this has been in effect since last year blah blah- we had never been there before There are ways to talk and help people- especially if they want repeat business- so prob won't be returning as the service was poor Just a smile on your face can be kind to others read more

Bought a roast and decided to purchase some chicken fajita mix at the meat counter for $8.99 per pound. Bought 3 pounds. Completely inedible! So much salt! Couldn't eat any of it...all 4 of us. Ended up throwing it out and ordering Taco Bell. Pass on their cooking. Just buy the meat. read more

Maybe that's their strategy, have so many things to choose from, so much stuff to look at and such good food that you just keep coming back over and over. Well, it's working on me! It's important to take some time looking at all the different frozen options. There is a ton of variety for sides, meals and everything in between. Pretty much anything fresh at the counter can be picked up frozen for a later date. The lasagna, onion rings and tater tot hot dish are sure things. All your classic cuts of meat are in stock but you'll probably notice the assortment of beef sticks, delicious! Flavors are subtle, I haven't tried them all but nothing was overwhelming. My go to is definitely a couple smoked sausages though, a signature item easy to heat up and enjoy. You will notice the decor...Classic model trains, cars, collectible toys and countless other nostalgic memorabilia. It's like a museum mixed in with a butcher shop. Came to Osseo Meat Market during the Thanksgiving weekend. We were responsible for BBQ Friday after Turkey Day. I had heard about this place but had no idea what I was in for. Waking in gives you a throwback to the small city butchers of years past where the guy behind the counter knows your name, your preference and what I like. My wife had sent me in for several things: bulk ground beef, brats and slab bacon. The beef is a better deal than Costco and the grade is where you truly noice the difference it's fantastic. They have pre packed 10 1 lb. bundles and per pins options. Their steaks are amazing and they have a huge selections of homemade brats and hotdogs. There is a sign on the wall that says our competition might have cheaper meat but it reflects their quality and they know it, the meat here is really good. They have a small store of spices, rubs grill supplies homemade specialties like chicken pot pie and there staff is so helpful/. Lastly the decor is really cool, I won't do it justice but there are old guns, accessories, classic trains and throwback memorabilia that gives Osseo Meat a cool vibe. I love having a place this cool close to home and will be using them for daily dining and all big parties ! read more

How have I missed this place for the last 4 years? A beautiful Porterhouse steak, some home made hot dogs, length of beef stick and all for under $20. This is a dying breed in the Burbs, the family owned, long time standing meat market. I had heard about this place just a few weeks ago and can't believe that I have driven past it a dozen plus times and never spotted it just off Hwy 169 and CR81 in Osseo. Great selection of meat, sausage, ribs and everything else a meat lover craves. Run by people that know their meat, are friendly and take pride in what they sell. All for 1/2 of what you'd pay at Lunds or Byerlys. Is there a better time for a discovery like this than the 1st day of spring? The grill is in the process of being dusted off, fresh bag of charcoal. This place is amazing! I have been looking for a pig ear, blood sausage and head cheese and this place had all three! We took our number. 58. Sh*t, it is at 41, but within ten minutes, they called our number. I looked around in the fridges and they had some blood sausage calling my name. I have never tried it, so CHECK! I have seen this stuff on Andrew Zimmern's show quite a bit, and I needed to try it. My wife saw they had some "Inferno" beef jerky, gotta try half a pound of that! Looks awesome! I saw they had head cheese, on the label it says pig snouts and a bunch of other gross sounding stuff. Can't wait to try it! Then I saw a big jar of pig ears. I still have to research it. It may be for humans, or it may be for dogs. It was sitting next to the dog bones. So I may be in for a canine treat. The place was FULL! I am talking 40 people waiting to get stuff. Hands down best butcher shop I've found out in the NW suburbs. It's got the old small town feel that I grew up with when I used to follow my grandpa and dad into the butcher shop back home. I don't know what it is, but I could sit and look at cuts of meat for way longer than is likely considered to be "normal". The smell of a butcher shop is one of which I will never tire. The staff is all super friendly, know everything there is to know about their meat (think Bubba and shrimp in Forrest Gump), and are not stingy with the free samples! The quality is great, the prices fair, and the selection vast. I've only dipped my toes into the breadth of the available steaks, roasts, chops, brats, dogs, burgers, beef sticks, and jerky. All of it has been top notch and never lasts long in my possession. It can get busy at times (right after work on weekdays, days before holidays, and weekends) so I typically head over there in the middle of the morning on random weekdays because I dislike crowds. They are, however, pretty adept at crowd management and the wait is not unbearable if you walk in and it happens to be busier than usual. read more

Disappointed finding out what you ordered was not what your expecting. Osseo Meats state on their web site their hams are smoked in house. When we brought home the ham, noticed they covered the supplier label with theirs. It turned the out Ham came from wholesale distributor packaged and labeled by the wholesaler. How does this qualify for the following statement on their website. "Old Fashioned Home Smoked Hams We Smoke Our Hams In House! read more

Probably one the best meat shops I have ever been in. This place has everything for the carnivore. Beef sticks (Smoky Cheddar is the bomb!), brats, fresh hand trimmed beef and pork (butterfly chops are incredible) and just about everything else you could want to go with it. I used to live in Osseo and I really miss being closer to Osseo Meat Market. Yesterday I went to a meat market closer to my home and walked in, walked around, the store to me was a dump, things jammed packed together, the young boy employees were gathered in a group behind the counter talking and I just did not like the atmosphere. I decided well Osseo Meats is not far away so off I went. I am so glad I did. What a difference. They get 5 STARS PLUS!!! So much more to pick from and I always buy more than what I go there for and Bridgeman's Ice Cream, the only request is that they get German Chocolate ice cream, I can't find that anywhere now and back in the day the Bridgeman's restaurant used to have it. The meat market is clean, well organized and wonderful to look around. I hope it is around for years to come!! The employees are amazing there also!!! Love the store. read more

If I could shop here every day, I probably would. If you need a unique or specific cut of meat, this is the place to go. Everyone I've dealt with is very helpful, not judgemental - willing to answer questions that most would probably think are dumb. The selection is great as well. I usually get some monster chicken breast which as super tasty, not split - and HUGE! also some pork butt perfect for making pulled pork sandwiches. There's also a huge selection of rubs, spices and sauces. If you were looking for something specific and haven't been able to find it somewhere else, you'll probably find it here. I haven't tried it yet, but they have a really big selection of pre-marinated meat as well. Lots of varieties of chicken breasts that are ready for the grill/oven - no need to spice yourself! To get there, you have to deal with the ongoing/neverending 169 construction (or at least I do) which is a little annoying, but it's surprisingly easy to find and worth the drive. This is NOT a Chain, doesn't look or feel like a chain. This is the real-deal with a bigger selection than the chain butchers and more helpful staff. If you are planning a big party or cookout and want to do something more than burgers and hot dogs, do yourself a favor and stop here first! read more

So begins my second foray into the Osseo Meat Nexus. No gps, just a man and his machine penetrating the concrete jungle that is the new Hwy 169 through Osseo. Wait there it is off the starboard bow. I think I smell sausage. My nose must be working, because as I enter this well appointed butcher shop I am greeted by all manner of things carnivore. Sausage, Beer Sticks, Jerky, Steak, Chops, Ribs, Meatballs it goes on and on. I call it the Osseo Meat Nexus because this place really isn't that far from Hackemueller's in South Osseo (well Robbinsdale really). Two different shops Hackenmueller's is more classically "butchery" with an all business white and meat decor. Osseo Meat Market has more of a quaint (but huge) deli feel. They have a lot of side items, sauces, crackers, etc... Both will fit the bill if more good quality protein is what you need. I needed some good Italian Sausage and Pepperoni for pizzas this weekend. They easily had both. I also need a jerky treat. What was that? Habenero Jerky? I have to have it. They also have Jalapeno Jerky for lesser mortals. Fabulous read more

Now ask yourself what color is the hamburger you usually buy? Can you even tell? Is it wrapped in white plastic that keeps you guessing? If you suffer from poor hamburger choices you need to find a real meat market. Osseo Meat Market is the solution to your ugly hamburger. Theirs is ground three times daily so it is always fresh and looks like meat should. No grey or brown edges just beautiful red hamburger. How about their other meats? I can't say there is a bad choice in the entire place. Whether you are looking for a huge sirloin, full tenderloins, prime rib, pork ribs, marinated pork chops, fresh chicken breasts, shrimp, scallops, lobster, or even oven ready twice baked potatoes this is your place. They even have their own bakery so you can pick up some fresh dinner rolls. Oh and they also have a full deli. If the above doesn't convince you to visit this place take a visit just to look at the all of the collectables on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Toy cars, knives, signs, and pedal cars are everywhere you look. The first time my parents visited I took them there not only to pick up potatoes and some marinated pork chops but just to take in all the sights. Here's a hint on the marinated pork chops. They are well over an inch thick and will generally serve two people. I like to grill mine at 300 degrees for about 45 mins which cooks them all the way through and keeps them very moist. If you buy the twice baked potatoes wrap them in tinfoil and throw them on about halfway through. If the meat and the sights don't get you in the door I urge you to just stop by someday and try not to buy something. The smell of jerky, sausage, fresh meat, marinating pork and chicken, and fresh dinner rolls will almost guarantee you leave with a bag of deliciousness. How much will that deliciousness cost you? More than your chain grocery store. There is no denying that but what you get in return is fresher hamburger, meat that is cut properly so it is always tender, and the sights and smells of an old fashioned meat market. The sign in their store says it all, "I don't argue with those who sell their meat for less for they know what it is worth." As a recent transplant from the west coast, I use to live near a fantastic butcher shop. Looking for something close I decided to try this place out and they did not disappoint. Selection is fantastic, service is great, in house smoked goods are tasty, quality is awesome! They have a good selection of sauces, rubs, bases, and dips. Osseo Meat Market also does custom cuts, say for example if you want a raw, uncured, unsmoked ham... They can make it happen. An interesting tib bit, beef prices are are higher in the MSP area as opposed to the Seattle area. I will return to this place, in fact I look forward to it. read more

Went in for gift card and went to the counter with a sign posted that said gift certificates. Several people were behind the counter and didn't acknowledge us In any way. I finally asked if I could get a gift card and a woman came from somewhere else and accused me of being rude. Told me to give her a minute because she was helping someone else. I said I was talking to the others that were right at behind the counter. She said they didn't all work there. Guess I should have known that somehow. I have no idea where she was and I wasn't talking to her. She said she would have to take the gift certificate sign down. My family has been shopping here for a very long time, particularly my father and older brother. Entering in as a young female of color was very uncomfortable for me. The first few times I blew it off. However, I was never greeted with a warm hello and was always passed by and never asked if I was helped. Plenty of older white gentlemen were greeted eagerly and waited on immediately. After placing my orders I was never thanked or asked to come back like other customers were. I eventually decided that this place is not for me as a young female or person of color. I recently, went back hoping that my previous experiences would not occur. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I was snubbed and decided to walk out. I do not recommend this business if you are a young female and particularly, if you are a person of color as it is visibly clear they don't wish to serve people of color. read more

The owner is the crabbiest woman I've ever spoken to. The first time on the phone I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. Then it happened for the second time. Wow, odd way to do business. I called to place an order and make a special request for a gift box and she said "not on the holidays". Odd, because the website is entitled " Holiday Gift Boxes" with Christmas bows all over it and when you drill in to view at the bottom it states "on request we can also put together a box with items of your choice. Just give us a call". Sure feels like false advertisement to me, but what do I know, I'm just the customer. In addition, when my husband stopped in over the weekend an employee also said they could do special requests and when I told her that the first time on the phone, instead of honoring what we were told she said "he had no authority to offer that". That was early on 12/21. Then, when I told my husband about it he asked if I could call back and explain about the website. I called back today 12/22 and tried to place an order and she proceeded to honestly YELL at me for waiting too long. Even though they said if we placed the order 2 days before we could get it for Christmas and the only reason for my delay was her not excepting the order the day prior. If you can't honor your advertisements and you start yelling at your customers, maybe it's time to get out of the business. I will be sure not to inconvenience Osseo Meats with an order in the future. I learned my lesson. read more
