Dr. Hussey is the best eye doctor I have encountered ever. He took his time to explain my exam results to me in terms I understood.

But since the…read morepractice no longer belongs to him, his spirit of caring community and customer service is being slowly sucked out of the place. I will always come to him for my eye care, but my recent experience buying glasses was very disappointing. I was picking up my $1500 glasses and saw that they are offering a 40% discount on new glasses! I asked to have that applied to my $950 copay and they refused. Why? Because I used my insurance. Does it say that anywhere on the discount flyer? Nope. Not a whisper. It was very disappointing. Not because I didn't get the discount, but because I left there feeling incredibly disrespected and cheated. My hub and I will always see Doc for our eye care but they will never sell either of us another pair of glasses. 3/31/25: The utterly unresponsive response attached to this review actually makes it WORSE. No organization that "strives for 5-star" service acts like this. Now I've been disrespected AND dismissed. Learn from this, John D. If you aren't going to do something about your customers' complaints, don't be dismissive. Just say nothing.

My 3 kids and I have been patients here for several years and my husband recently became a patient…read moreas well. Today, I had a scheduled appt with my 15 year old daughter. We have always declined the optimap pictures, which is a little box you check on the paperwork. It has always said on the form, that if you decline the pictures, you will have your eyes dilated. ( Except during covid, they said it was required, so we all did the pictures at that visit.). The appt after that, we declined them and I asked Dr. Haring if my kids and I needed to do the dilation part of the exam, because the appt had wrapped up and it hadn't happened yet, but he said no, it's not necessary. Ever since, at each appt, we've done the same thing and we have never once been offered to dilate our eyes. I assumed they knew what they were doing and never questioned anything. At today's visit, the office manager tells me they have notes they've been keeping on me that I have refused dilation at every visit, which has absolutely never happened. I've never been to an appointment here without my kids having appointments as well. 18, 15 and 11. They have never been offered to have their eyes dilated either, nor have they ever witnessed me telling any staff member that I refuse having our eyes dilated. She started speaking to me as if I was some problematic patient, when we have been patients for years with no issues. Today they said insurance has changed and it's required to do one or the other, but that I cannot drive if I chose dilation. I was not sure what to do at that point. I didn't mind getting dilated today, I just was not sure about driving arrangements. I was also in complete shock that the office manager told me they have been keeping notes on me refusing dilation, something that I've never even been offered. In fact, was told it was not necessary at my second visit. I tried to figure out what was going on, but she refused to hear me out. The office manager was rude with me, telling me to chose or reschedule for January. Her tone and attitude towards me was completely unwarranted. She could not be bothered to try to remedy the situation. It's the most awful feeling being told you've done something that is completely false and having the office manager so unwilling to even hear what I was saying. She handled the situation so poorly. I chose to leave with my daughter without rescheduling. I prefer to find another office that does not keep false notes about patients and then treat them so terribly when they are surprised to hear that that's what's been happening. Why would they continue to see us, as patients, for so many years, if we refused something they required? Probably because it never happened, I've never refused anything. Why would anyone go to an eye doctor and not want the proper care? I don't even need contacts or glasses. I go to make sure my eyes are healthy. So unbelievably disappointed with how I was treated. Now that I am home, I wish desperately, I would have asked her "what in the world did I do for you to treat me this way?". Essentially calling me, a patient, a liar and not allowing the person she's made all these false notes about to try to figure out what in the world happened. I cannot describe the absolute disheartening feeling this woman left me and my daughter with. This family of 5 will find Eyecare elsewhere.

Anyone entering the hospital building has their temperature checked by a nurse at the entrance and is banded with a green wrist band to show they have been screened. This made me feel safer going into my appointment. The receptionists at Envision were pleasant as always during my check-in and copay process, and within a few minutes I was taken back for the start of my appointment. Everyone was wearing masks, and there was lots of sanitizer available. The tech I had was great with wonderful bedside manner. He made sure to ask all the right questions, cleaned all surfaces in front of me, and explained the process of what went on during the OCT. The chairs throughout the office have all been recently fixed by Dr. Davidson now, which he mentioned when I got to see him for the end of my exam. Thanks for that, Doc! Overall, I had a great painless visit and received the same diligent care I always do when having my eyes looked at. Thanks so much, Envision Team!

I had problems after a procedure, and the attitude I received from the individual taking the call was unprofessional, as if surely I was mistaken. The general attitude, even with the doctor was "get in, get out, we really don't want to be here".

Despite multiple calls to the office in Fenton, reaching out via the AI bots, calling their billing number (what a joke) and physically going into the office multiple times, i could not get an explanation. Each of the four contacts with the local office I was told they needed to investigate further and assured me they would call me back. Nope--not even once did they do what they said they would. From reading other reviews of Clarkson, it seems that ignoring billing questions could be a corporate issue, perhaps it is even a corporate strategy. To wear people down so they pay or turn the account over to a collection agency. Very poor way to run a business because word gets around. And to add to all of this frustration, the glasses they sold me that are supposed to be scratch resistant are way more scratched than the previous glasses I wore for over four years.

I asked why is that the case now considering it has not been such for years and got no answer. Needless to ay all three of us will be finding another provider.

I went here in February for a box of my disposable contacts after moving from TN. I of course have new insurance with the job change and have utilized Target Optical in TN for the past year. I went in and after they found out what fabulous insurance I have they got all excited about trying to sell me more and I also had my husband with me and I he went on back for an eye exam and when he came out they had him all talked into prescription sun glasses and top of the line frames and it is true that his insurance would have covered a great portion of this but he didn't need to be "sold" all this...they man needed glasses to see and he would have walked out of there with them if they just kept on track and worked with that and then let him know about some other extras...just because you can get a good deal doesn't mean you want to shell out more from your pocket...He would have been paying close to 400.00 out of pocket for all they suggested. I tell you this because in the height of all this shuckin' and jivein' by the sales people. I ended up getting supposedly a years supply of contacts that they put thru my insurance plan---I still had to pay around 60.00 out of pocket....but i left with a couple boxes of contacts....flash forward 6 months later---labor day weekend 2013---- I'm ready to take a road trip out of town....call hubby at work tell him to pick me up a box of my disposable contacts....Guess what----my prescription ran out in May...why in the world did they not update my prescription when I went in to them with new insurance in February.....???? I was livid...because I thought this had been done.... I called the store and had them pull my file because they couldn't find me in their computer system...she said she would call me back....she did not...I had to call them back....they had no solution for me....I asked if they could schedule an appointment for my return and give me a temporary disposable pair (which by the way Wal-mart has done on several occasions when I utilized them in the past) They were little bitches on the phone about this. I am done with Target optical and done with Target as a department store. This is the third strike in a month on their behalf with not living up to my service expectations .
