While my boyfriend and I was perusing through the store, we were asked twice if we needed help or were looking for something in particular. Went here for some more accessories for my rave outfit recently and I loved this store because of their size choices. I know most places with lingerie or similar clothing almost never have anything above Large, and sometimes don't even have Larges, but this place had a good selection of plus size clothing which was a plus. The store was spacious and very clean and the worker I talked to was so sweet. I didn't get her name but she was so helpful and made sure I found everything I needed. Before I highlight an associate who went above and beyond tonight, I want to address the toxic, impetuous, and rude behavior I experienced from the floor manager and another sales associate. I avoid shopping in Hollywood on weekends due to the chaos, but I usually have an amazing experience during the week. I needed to go in for last minute wardrobe tonight and my experience was everything but amazing until Quinn helped me before I left in frustration. The selections are often a generic small or medium sizes that require trying on. After selecting outfits for a production tomorrow, I asked the floor manager to use the fitting room. He hastily handed my selections to another associate and asked her to "handle it." I shop here regularly and know the routine of wearing disposable panties as an additional barrier for trying on bottoms. Hustler has a strict no-return policy on lingerie, and I was planning to spend a few hundred dollars on this trip alone. The associate insisted this was the new policy of not trying on bottoms and claimed they were out of disposable panties. I needed these pieces for production and didn't want to argue. They probably get all sorts of customers on weekends and didn't recognize me as a frequent shopper. At the register, I asked again if they had disposable panties. The manager looked in a random drawer and said, "we are all out," then walked away when I was ready to purchase. I needed a pair of shoes because I had just destroyed a pair. Despite reminding them that I wanted to try the shoes on, the manager and sales associate were ineffective until Quinn helped me. The first pair of shoes didn't fit, but Quinn found another pair that did. At the counter, I complained about the no-return policy and not being able to try anything on. Quinn reiterated the no-try-on policy for bottoms, but everything I was buying were one-pieces. Quinn then found disposable panties behind the counter and set me up in a dressing room. Without Quinn's assistance, I might have ended up with lingerie that didn't fit and would have sought out a different store next time. I love this spot for its convenience and quality outfits for production. The seasonal changes are my favorite! The staff I'm familiar with make the experience even better. Where do I begin... I don't know the name of the manager who was there that day (she was a Caucasian female, I think, possibly mid-twenties, with short brunette hair like a pixie-cut and hipster glasses) but I really want to find out her name so that I can report her! She was on the other side of the room, nowhere near me. She was moving a mannequin around or something. She didn't seem offended or repulsed by my presence in the slightest. She just carried on with whatever she was doing. I was browsing for a few more minutes... I was standing a few feet away from the merchandise, browsing mostly with my eyes, not really touching stuff that much... I was kind of combing through the box outfits a little, you know, the ones that are hanging on those little hooks, so I could see the ones in the back. I am abruptly approached by this "Manager" chick, really harsh vibe she's giving off, telling me some crap about "Ma'am, I'm not going to serve you." When I asked her why, she just kept repeating "I'm not going to serve you." And so I say, a little confused, "Uh, What? Okay, I mean... then I'm ready to pay for my items now (I was holding a few items that I had picked out, that I needed for work, like thongs, panties, stockings...) It was like this weird standoff. Where was this hostile energy coming from? Seemingly out of nowhere. I was like, "Can I please checkout then, so that I can leave/be on my way?" I tried to reason with her. I'm like, "I don't have covid." When I pressed/asked what the problem was, she gave me some B.S. line about "you're making people uncomfortable." (I don't know what people she was referring to, if she meant other shoppers, or the staff, who were just peacefully minding their own business). How was I making anyone uncomfortable? I am not loud or rowdy. I am actually shopping with the intent to PURCHASE specific things. The truth of the situation is, I was in my own little area of the store, near the window display kind of, not even anywhere near the other few shoppers that were in there at the time. They were all a safe distance away, in various sections of the store, doing *literally* the same thing as me: walking around. Browsing. Completely normal. And I persist. Because to me this is unfair. I argue back like, "Well, you can't just tell me you don't want to serve me because *you* don't feel like me for some reason. That's not even fair. I mean, how does that even make sense?" I'm not sure how that works, but that's wrong to me. Like, that's not even right. I tried to explain how I came to *this store* specifically to buy this stuff... I stood my ground. I'm like, I am a woman peacefully standing here, selecting my items that I intend to buy. I am following the covid protocols, I am wearing my face mask, and I haven't done anything wrong! I usually go to my favorite shop, which is thankfully only a mile or so away from this awful store. I decided to go to the Hustler for the first time since I was walking on-foot with a friend of mine. We enter and are greeted by one of the female employees, while the male employee (who's leaning over the counter talking to the female cashier) just glares at us as we walk in. I look at him and smile and he just looks away. Basically, although the store was full, he seemed to love following us around. Finally, I end up asking him a question about an adult item I had heard about and he looked at me puzzled and said, "I've never heard of that. You must be saying the name wrong." (I wasn't) I described it in detail and then finally he just suggested something similar to what I was talking about. He did take out the product he suggested and let me hold it and touch it before he put that same adult toy BACK in the box and hung it with the rest of the ones for sale. I was a bit disgusted, since usually that's what sample/tester items are for. From previous experience, even if an item does NOT have a sample or tester, the employee inboxes a brand new one and creates said tester or sample. Instead this man simply let me, himself, and my friend TOUCH and FEEL up on a "new" toy and then proceeded to put it back in the mark as if nothing had happened. All I'm saying is be careful what you buy from here. Although I wash/sanitize everything I buy from sex shops regardless, I still expect the product to be untouched by the public. Right? Anyways, in a silly mood... my friend and I decided to buy something regardless. We checked to MAKE SURE whatever we were buying was all the way at the back of the toys section so that the chances of an employee tampering with the item was lower. We went to check out and the female employee was very nice and was actually attempting to speak to us and have a conversation. The next day, I take out my toy to test it out and it starts over heating, turning off randomly, and buzzing EXTREMELY LOUD.
