I don't leave reviews often, but I absolutely have to leave a review for Dr. Hwang because he is a truly special doctor that went above and beyond! Hwang Family Chiropractic is the best chiropractic facility that I've ever been to, and Dr. Hwang is the best chiropractic doctor that has ever treated me - bar none! Dr. Hwang has heavily invested in his practice in terms of the latest equipment and tools to help his patients recover. I was beyond impressed to see that he has many rooms in the facility and each room has specialized equipment to diagnose and treat his patients for a myriad of ailments. He has top of the line equipment such as a spinal decompressor machine, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy machines, and much more. He read through all of my MRI reports and took the time to explain all of the issues that I had and how his treatments were going to cure the issues that I was having before administering any treatment. I had car accident last Christmas and started treatment with Dr. Hwang in Jan. 2025. Dr. Hwang is the most gental and nice doctor that I've ever seen. He goes over my case, health issue, and potential treatments step by step. Due to the hit, my muscle is intended. So, he mainly helps to adjust and loose my neck and back muscles. I'll start with how much do you respect your body? Beware; if you're going to be cheap on your body please move along. I have to admit, before coming to Hwang Family Chiropractic, I was very skeptical. I requested a consultation to see what is wrong with my lower back. Long story short, my disk spacing was non existence and that my bones were grinding on each other. Dr, Hwang has this awesome equipment that opens my disk for about 15 min each session and after 2 years, I nearly cried. There is much more space and my lower back does not hurt midway through the day anymore. If you plan on having a better mobility life, please give this place a call. This was a long overdue review! I thought I had given Dr. Hwang a review but I guess I did not. A little background, back in April of 2022, I experienced a disc bulge and a slight pinched nerve while at the gym. I thought it was just pulled my back like I would occasionally do, so I didn't think too much of it. I thought it would just go away. Throughout the day, it had gotten worse. It was around 8pm, I was not able to walk straight anymore, I could barely walk actually. My spine began to curve. The pain was getting too severe to endure. Mind you, Dr. Hwang's office was closed for the day already. But my fiancé (now wife) called him to see if he was still in the office, luckily he was, to catch up on some administrative work. He took me in without questioning. He saw my condition, showed compassion, and treated me. Took X-Rays, laid me on the spinal decompression table, and took his time to treat me out of his busy schedule. Conducted numerous follow ups to make sure I was 100% good to go back to work. Unfortunately, at the beginning of 2019, I was involved in a very bad accident where I was hit by a red-light runner. The car that I was in spun out and was completely totaled. I was referred to Dr. Hwang by several of my family members, who were also past patients of his, and they assured me that he would take great care of me. Dr. Hwang is one of the most down to Earth doctors that I have ever encountered, and you can tell that he truly cares about his patients. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. After my accident, I was in a lot of pain and I had my treatment done at his office for about 4 months. I personally hate going to doctor appointments, but Dr. Hwang's office was an exception. I continuously have sharp pains in my upper left shoulder. When I sit and stand for a long time, it hurts so badly. I thought it was just the pinch nerve or tightening of muscle. I decided to go to Thrive 20/20 to see if they can fix my problem. I met with Dr. Nic, who is a very nice guy. He told me that my muscles are tightened, and it needs to be treated like 3 or 4 times then I would be fine again. On the 4th treatment, I told Dr Nic that I have the same pain on my upper left shoulder, and I told him that I don't think it's the spasm muscles or some nerves that cause it. I insisted that I need to take an X-ray so he can find out the real cause of the pains, which he agreed to. I then went to take the X-ray, and the result was sent to Dr. Nic's office. On my fourth visit, I asked Dr. Nic if he looks at the X-Ray. To my surprise, he said "No". Dr Nic said nothing is damaged or wrong about my upper left shoulder. He said I should be fine after a couple of more treatments which I know wasn't true. I haven't come back since and my shoulder is in pain back to square one. My left shoulder continues to give pain which affects my work, mentally, and physically. I believe in faith and was praying to find a good Dr next time to fix my shoulder. To make the story short, faith and believe lead me to Dr. Hwang. I remembered the first time I met Dr. Hwang, he doesn't treat me right away, but takes his time to understand my conditions and consult me about the plans on how to treat my shoulder step by step. He asked me to go take the X-Ray not only the left shoulder but the right shoulder as well so he can compare the two to find the root cause of the left shoulder. At that moment, I knew Dr. Hwang is the right Dr I've been searching for. On the first day of treatment, Dr. Hwang introduced me to all the equipment/machines for each of six rooms. He educated me different equipment to treat different kinds of symptoms. I've never seen any Chiropractor office have so much up-to-date equipment and machines like Dr. Hwang clinical. Before the treatment began, he also showed me the X-Ray of my shoulders. He pointed out the difference between the left and right shoulders and these are the reasons why I have so much pain in my left shoulder . The treatment hasn't begun yet, but I already felt better because I now understand the symptom of my pains. After my first treatment, I felt better and less pain. What else is there to say about Hwang Family Chiropractic? The facility is extremely clean, professional... hi-tech... with tons of space and PRIVACY! I stress privacy because I have been to other chiropractic offices that had shorter walls in which you can hear pretty much everything a doctor is telling the other patient... which pretty much throws any patient privacy clause out the window! In other words... the privacy at some other chiropractic offices were equivalent to that of a public restroom, at best! Lets move on to the staff! They are FRICKIN AWESOME! Extremely friendly and helpful... especially that Brittany gal! Brittany was very welcoming from the time I first called when in amazing pain, to when I crawled through the door in even worse pain! But the main reason this office is so great (facility and staff, wise) is Dr. Hwang! He is responsible for the floor plan... the personnel, and he is the PULSE of his office! And that is only speaking from a business standpoint! Regarding Dr. Hwang as a physician... he is AS GOOD AS IT GETS! I literally crawled into his office with lower back pain ranging between 7-8... sometimes getting to 9 if not 10 on the pain scale! It was extremely difficult to walk... and extremely painful to get in and out of my car! The first thing we did was have a brief consultation! Next phase was take x-rays! After that, we sat down in a different, yet private and high tech consultation room to discuss the x-rays and treatment. The news was pretty depressing! Luckily, surgery was not an option at that point, although it was stressed that I may be a candidate for surgery in the near future unless I get treatment! The thing I really appreciated is that he didn't try to "sell" me on a treatment plan at that time! He educated me... treated me a couple times to relieve my pain so that I can be more mobile for my birthday weekend... and then said to schedule an appointment the following week so that we can discuss what options are available. The bottom line about Dr. Hwang is that he is well balanced. He is a friend, first, and a physician next... all with the premise to never let personal feelings get in the way of his role as a physician! He is very straight forward, answers questions, and never leaves things blurred, but does so in a way that you are comfortable and trusting of him! Physician reviews are difficult to do! You never want to be sick or hurt to see a doctor! But for the sake of this review... if there was a chiropractic physician I would always go to, it would be Dr. Hwang! And for the record... I have been going to Dr.Hwang for about 3 months and counting. All i can say is Dr.Hwang is the best Doctor i have ever met. He always comes into the room with a huge smile and knows my name right away. Unlike other doctors he remembers our last visits,all the stories I've told him and all my previous problems. Dr.Hwang will explain any problems that you are having and then explain them in the easiest way possible if your confused with the terms. This was my actual very first time going to a Chiropractor and what a great place to go to other than here. Right when you walk in its very clean and open. There is a mini water fall and relaxing music. As you wait your also offered water. The staff there is very welcoming because they always ask hows your day been going and asking about what you last talked about on your last visit. I actually love Dr.Hwang and wish I was related to him so that i would able to see him all the time. His hands are just magical, every time i tell him about a problem going on big or small he fixes it with no problem. Dr.Hwang has given me a new perspective on life. Its unfortunate that Yelp does not offer more stars for rating because if they did Dr. Hwang would get 10 stars! Let me start by saying, I worked in the health care industry for a few years for an MRI Center. Many times when patients would come in referred from Dr. Hwang we noticed that their MRI's improved greatly after being treated by Dr. Hwang. Now, as someone who dealt with over 50 doctors/ chiropractors a day, I can easily and confidently say that Dr. Hwang is by far one of the absolute best you can visit. I say this not only in my opinion, but in proof of MRIs. I was so compelled by the results that I had seen by Dr. Hwang that I choose him out of the thousands of doctors in the greater Bay Area to treat myself and my family. Coming from a position to be able to judge the quality of Doctor it should speak volumes as to my decision to choose this practice. I have for years suffered from terrible headaches and back issues. When I went to Dr. Hwang not only did he treat me he took his time and explained EVERY detail of why and how something happens. This is not your typical office where they pile in tons and patients and move them on. When you decide to get treated from Dr. Hwang not only will you receive the best treatment you are getting invaluable information. Since i started my treatment here, I have seen a GREAT decline in my headaches and have learned the best practices to keeping myself healthy to prevent hurting myself further. Lastly, my mother had suffered from Vertigo for years. There would be weeks on end where she would be bed ridden and not be able to do anything. All of her other doctors gave her medications to try and ease the pain, but to no avail, nothing worked. These were doctors from Stanford University and UCSF, not your fly by night doctors. In a last ditch effort, I begged my mom to come see Dr. Hwang. She was one of the many people who did not believe in Chiropractors and their methods. Lets fast forward now, as I type this my mother is out Christmas shopping for the family enjoying herself with friends. Its amazing what Dr.Hwang was able to do not only for her but my family. We feel truly blessed to have crossed paths with him. I was very fortunate to have been a patient at Dr. Hwang's. Not only did he help me physically, but also mentally. I recently went to see Dr.Hwang after a car accident and I initially came in with doubts about seeing a chriopractor. Little did I realize, I made the perfect decision that would change my perspective in life. Coming into his office I was an anxious, stiff neck, fatigued person. Leaving his office, I was a content calm and healthy individual. Dr. Hwang is an extremely knowledgeable doctor that will answer any questions you have and offer his insight.
