I'm a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, but my stay here was refreshing. I'd recently been staying at lower-end Marriott properties for work, and this hotel was comparable in price, but far superior in everything else - customer service, features, cleanliness, etc. Parking seemed to be a bit of an issue when I checked in on a Thursday evening - not in terms of availability, but proximity to the either of the two entrances. Luckily, I was able to nab one of the closest parking spots to the front entrance after looping around the building. My initial thought was that it was very quiet. Perhaps I was on a floor by myself, but I didn't hear or see anyone else on my floor during my one-night stay. I really loved my room. It was contemporary-styled and comfortable with plenty of light fixtures and a floor to ceiling window. I especially liked the light over the sofa because it automatically turned off, and turned back on after it detected motion. The bed was also comfortable and soft with high quality foam pillows. There was a QR code by the bed, and when directed to the website contained a list of information and hotel policies. One of those policies was in regard to delivery orders. Deliveries cannot be left at the front desk or taken to your room by the driver/carrier. They must be picked up in the lobby, which was fairly simple to follow. After check-out I had left clothes in the closet and didn't realize until hours later. I called the front desk and was able to coordinate picking them up after housekeeping checked the room for my items and collected them. I really appreciate Amanda's promptness and level of customer service whilst assisting me over the phone. My only dissatisfaction was that I didn't receive hand soap in the bathroom, but otherwise it was a much needed and unrealized change from Marriott. read more

This is a stellar property. It is spotless, 24/7 and the staff is incredible. The rooms are large and comfortable with floor to ceiling windows. The heating and cooling system is equally wonderful. The bathroom is well lit and comes with a very welcoming shower. Additionally, the rooms are quiet and the elevators are some of the best I've seen in an Allentown hotel. Needless to say, the security is top notch. My girlfriend and I cannot wait to return. And when we do, we want to try their awesome looking pool and fitness room. read more

Hotel Review: Hyatt Place - Allentown, PA I recently stayed at the Hyatt Place in Allentown, PA during a work trip and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. This was my first time at this property, and it came highly recommended by a coworker who had previously stayed here--and it did not disappoint. The check-in process was seamless and efficient. After flying into Philadelphia and making a stop for lunch in downtown Philly, we arrived at the hotel around 3:00 PM and were promptly given our room keys with no issues. The front desk associate was extremely welcoming and informative. She clearly explained the breakfast area, hours of operation, elevator access, and Wi-Fi instructions. I booked a King room with a separate couch area, which was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped. The room included a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, full-length mirror, and an in-room safe. The 50" TV offered a wide selection of channels, and the two bedside tables came with both lamp lighting and convenient power outlets. The room temperature was pleasantly cool upon arrival, which was a relief given the high heat index that day. The bathroom was stocked with plenty of fresh towels, the shower presser was amazing and my 4th-floor room offered a great view. As someone who works out early in the morning, I was especially impressed with the hotel gym. It was one of the best I've seen in a hotel of this category--modern, clean, and fully equipped with new machines and free weights. I also appreciated the thoughtful touch of complimentary disposable plug-in headphones for guests. While I don't usually eat breakfast, I visited the breakfast area to take a look, and it featured a generous selection of hot foods and continental options. The dining and lounge areas were clean, inviting, and nicely designed. You can tell this is a newer property that is well-maintained and managed with care. There was a wedding celebration the first day we checked in so that should also tell you how well kept this place is. Overall, I had a fantastic stay. The service, cleanliness, and amenities exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be booking here again for future work trips to Allentown. read more

This was my first time staying at the Allentown Hyatt, and I must say--I'm truly impressed. Just pulling up to the hotel felt like stepping into the holiday season. The way the building is lit up is so inviting and festive. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the lovely receptionist, which made the experience even more special. The decor, the room--everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel was peaceful, and I felt completely safe throughout my stay. And can I just say--what a joy it is to walk into a hotel room without that typical yucky carpet! Such a small detail, but it made a big difference for me. I'll definitely be staying here again. Not to mention, the hotel's close proximity to Dorney Park is a huge plus. Hyatt, job well done! read more

A Complete Disaster - Avoid at All Costs If I could give Hyatt House Allentown zero stars, I would. After driving across the entire country from California to Pennsylvania, my family and I arrived only to be told that our reservation--made well in advance--was canceled the same day because of our pets. Here's the kicker: when I booked, the hotel clearly advertised itself as PET FRIENDLY with zero mention of restrictions on specific animals. It wasn't until I was already on the road, exhausted and expecting a place to rest, that they decided to call and inform me that "pet friendly" apparently doesn't include cats. What kind of bait-and-switch nonsense is that? If they had this arbitrary rule, it should have been disclosed upfront--not used as an excuse to leave travelers stranded at the last minute. The staff offered no solutions, no empathy, and no effort to make things right. Instead, they left us scrambling for alternative accommodations after we had driven across the entire country. Their lack of professionalism and accountability is shocking. If you're traveling with pets, don't trust Hyatt House Allentown. Their misleading policies and last-minute cancellations could leave you out in the cold--literally. Absolute disgrace. read more

Visited a family member in the area during the MLK holiday weekend and as World of Hyatt members, we decided to stay here. Apparently brand new and has only been around for a year or so. I called them to say we're only going to be in a little before midnight and they reserved a nice room for us at the Explorist level. The property feels new without the new property shortcomings and the staff seemed to be professional. I personally loved how we were able to sleep so comfortably in their King bed, the pillows felt a bit uncomfortable in the beginning but we were able to sleep regardless. Room and bathroom was clean and water pressure was good. There was a small indoor pool that was packed given it's a holiday weekend so we didn't try it. The breakfast here was pretty good. A small and really simple breakfast buffet that had the basics but were pretty satisfying. In the 2 days that we got to try it, we enjoyed a bit of variety in some of the items. The staff also greeted you a pretty cheerful 'good morning', something you don't really get to see often in other places. Overall, would happily stay if we're visiting again! How disappointing! I recommended a friend stay here since it was new and convenient in the area. I visited her room to find lots of dust, cheaply done job. She said the bed was comfy but she too was disappointed in the job. There's no shelf in the shower for soap/shampoo/etc. the microwave had no plug in so she had to move it from the counter to the desk and plug it in. As for an area to do work, we'll let's just say there was none. Lots of work to be done to make this a suitable place to do business. read more

I only stayed for one night . they put a hold on my credit card and said it would be released within 3 days . it's been over a week . I've made multiple calls and they keep telling me it's been released. I then called and finally got a lovely person who told me it was never released. Horrible guest service relations. One night stay and left a phone stand. Called later that day and spoke with Janice.(she never followed up with me) called the following day and spoke with Asia (she never followed up with me) called the 3rd day and spoke with Amber. Requested GM's name and email address. Sent letter to Gm. Who informed me he was off with his family and would follow up the following day. Amber DID follow up and took my info to send item back. Today.... I get an email from Scott Craver, General Mgr. Informing me he had spoken to Amber and item was being sent. No apology for his employees horrible guest service relations... very nice looking hotel, great location. It stops there. Requested wheelchair and Suite close to elevators. Upon arrival, wheelchair not to be found and said no suite booked but could give me one at other end of hotel. ( I had confirmation booked directly through Hyatt ). Front desk amazingly found a suite available. For a higher price. When arguing I had a confirmation, she relented, although st other end of hotel. My spouse had to wheel me up in a luggage rack! Talk about embarrassing Dishwasher in suite non operational, furniture and beds excruciating. It was attractive and clean, I'll give them that. As a Hyatt member, it's pretty shocking. read more

This hotel is extremely clean. The rooms are great. UNLESS you decide to use this hotel for your wedding guests. ANTOINE, the bar manager will call the POLICE on your party for bringing in outside alcohol, even if the allegations are not true. The wedding party involved brought in water in cups from the venue, and offered for management to inspect the involved beverages. The hotel bar will be shut down prematurely due to his inexperience and negligence as a manager. It's honestly a shame his power trip effects the entire staff and experience. Besides Antoine's blatant inexperience as a manager, I would've rated this hotel as a 5 star accommodation. read more

This is actually two hotels. Hyatt Place and Hyatt House. We stayed in Hyatt Place. A nice new hotel only opened a few weeks. Clean and fresh. A HOT breakfast was included with our stay. Our corner room had tons of space. Comfortable bed, nice size bathroom, and sitting area with sofa and TV. Great pool, exercise room and a bar. The restaurant was not opened yet but they were expecting it to open very soon. Wonderful place to stay. The Hyatt House has a suite with a kitchenette, a little bit more in price but well worth it if you are there for a longer stay. read more

Hands down the BEST hotel and staff in the Lehigh Valley. My family and I found ourselves in an extended stay situation for well... an extended period of time. We thought we'd be both miserable and uncomfortable not being in our own space. However, Hyatt House in Allentown made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable that we felt we were home. The staff from Marie and Trisha in the kitchen to managers David and Lynn, Chris in Sales and the numerous customer service representatives (too many to name here-but Alexis, Aysia, Amanda, Clarissa, Justin,Madyson, Janice and Chad), to the housekeeping and maintenance staff (Eve, Michael and Sky) any question I had was asked, problem was solved and request was satisfied. They truly went above and beyond. Plus, this pet friendly hotel showered my two fur babies with affection each and every time time they saw them. The rooms are modern, and luxurious. The morning complimentary breakfast is delicious! We felt pampered and spoiled the whole time. They welcome all of their guests, but for an extended stay, there is no better place to be. They seriously made it hard to leave. I recommend this hotel without hesitation and would definitely go back!! read more
