Check in was incredibly easy, the staff really kind and helpful, and my room was clean and well lit. I am a loyal Hyatt customer so of course I had to stay here during my visit to Albuquerque for the annual balloon fiesta. It's conveniently located in ABQ uptown and only about a 15 minute drive from Nob Hill and Old Town, so it's super easy to get around the city while staying here. While I found the location convenient and the free parking a nice perk, the hotel itself seemed a little dated with older rooms and amenities. Compared to some of the more recent Hyatts I've stayed at, the bathrooms at this location felt a lot older and a little less maintained, especially the shower. The bed was comfortable so I can't complain about that. We were also given a room close to the elevator so some of the noise from guests getting on and off could be heard from our room. Overall it was an okay stay but nothing super special or out of the ordinary. read more

Don't remember what category this hotel falls under Hyatt, but pictures look newer then what is appears in person. This hotel definitely needs an upgrade. It got us through the couple of days but this place could use some improvement in their maintenance. Location is in the middle of many restaurants and shops. That was definitely a plus. I have now stayed here 3 times, twice for work and once for personal travel. The great: 1. The staff. All of them have been friendly and helpful. No complaints whatsoever. 2. The location. It is near lots of restaurants, some of which are quite good (like Seasons 52 up the street). There is also a Target nearby. and many other shops. Kirtland AFB is also just down the road, and easy to reach. The ok: 1. The rooms. They are a good size. The HVAC, in my experience, has been hit or miss. During my last stay, it was perfect. The time before? It couldn't decide if the A/C or heat should run, so it continually went back and forth between the two. That was very annoying. The first time i stayed here, the A/C was inconsistent and it was a struggle to keep the room cool (even though the temp outside was in the high 70s/low 80s during the day). 2. The cost. It's a great spot to stay in Uptown. I used to live in ABQ a long time ago, so I needed a place to stay as I revisited the area and took my husband to his first Balloon Fiesta. They had a shuttle at the Coronado Mall next door that took you to the Balloon Fiesta, which was a nice surprise because we didn't plan for that. The room itself was cozy. They also offered basic continental breakfast, but we never took advantage because we had other spots that we wanted to hit up or were meeting friends at. There's parking available, it's pretty centrally located, and honestly I would come back here if I'm in town again. read more

What a great stay! Our room was on the first floor not far from the lobby, so I was a bit concerned that it might be noisy, but I was pleased to be wrong! It was very quiet! The room was spacious and very clean; bed was very comfortable. The only change I would like is a larger TV since it serves both the seating area and the bedroom. The complementary breakfast was outstanding! Pork carnitas, scrambled eggs, bacon, tortilla shells, green chile sauce, plus usual continental options of fruit, toast, pastries, etc. We were just passing through for one night, but I definitely would've stayed a LOT longer! read more

Staff is very nice and hard working. The room and facilities are lacking. Hot water did not work for the first two nights and we were told to run the sink for 10 minutes to prime the hot water for the shower. This didn't work. At the end of day two, the hot water began to come out hot. Several electrical outlets had no power and I kid you not, the phone made noise like a Geiger counter so we just unplugged it. Maybe this was part of a test pilot for a NM state experience at the hotel. It's 2AM right now but I can't sleep because there is a crackhead across the street playing a radio/singing/humming. The windows are thin and if you're on the first floor facing the street, you will hear a lot of external noise. On day 3 we found a cockroach in the bathroom. We named him Harry. Harry was very fast and avoided the tissue pickup twice before embedding himself into a towel. I don't know if housekeeping will reclaim a towel from the trashcan but Harry's guts are stuck to one side of said towel. Don't wipe your face using a medium towel LOL. One more thing, if you walk out of the pool side exit to the rear parking lot, it smells like propane gas. Be careful. Like I said, the staff is very nice and accommodating. It's worth your salt to stay at the Hyatt Place Uptown. The rooms have been updated and were clean. The breakfast buffet was mighty tasty. And the location was convenient. But Uptown's competitive edge is their staff. During our stay (November 5-9), Pralay, Katie, Nicol, Michael and Josh generously offered my wife and I suggestions about services, shopping, restaurants, and navigating around Albuquerque. Being strangers, that would have been useful by itself. But we appreciated their help all the more because we were in town for my brother's funeral (which we didn't tell them). It was a tough time for us; we were distracted and drained. So even little ways Pralay and his associates helped us lessened our load. read more

Used to enjoy this hotel. But it has gone downhill. Room 323 would smell of an awful a sewage stench after showering. We notified the front desk and they claimed to have fixed it but it happened again the next morning. Also took Luke warm showers as it did not get very hot. Could also hear doors from others slamming all night. Just not what it used to be. read more

This hotel is located in uptown Albuquerque NM. Which is a 20 minute drive from the airport. The area around it has several places that you can walk to eat and shop. The hotel has 6 floors. They serve a daily FREE breakfast and while we were there at night they had a hot water, chocolate mix and tea station by the front door. Which was a nice welcoming gesture after a long day. Our room had a king bed with a separate seating area. There was a small sink along with a microwave and a refrigerator in this area. There was also a work desk. The sad thing about this room was the large television that had limited tv stations and NO way to stream prime or Netflix!! Over all the hotel was nice but glad husband had his iPad to stream shows to watch as the tv was boring. There is a work out room and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel was fairly clean. read more

Last stop on our way out west. We chose this hotel due to previous stays at Hyatt Place properties, but also since it was a pet friendly hotel ($75 for furry friends to stay). The hotel is located near lots of shops, eateries, gas and more. You're in the heart of the city when staying here. Since it's by plenty of busy streets, there is not many grassy areas for the dog to run, play or go #2. The hotel was everything we expected. Clean & friendly. The room comes w/ a large tv, mini fridge and coffee maker. Comfy bed. Breakfast in the morning had fruit, oatmeal, danishes, cereal, juices and even a hot item (carnitas I believe). I was VERY excited to dig into them. Only to find a hair in my food! Stuff happens I get it. However it did turn me off to breakfast that morning upon checkout. We were on vacation an decided to stay here. This is one of the better hotels in the area. Check in was easy. There is plenty of parking. There is a little room where you can sit and watch tv. There is a large dining area. The only thing we had trouble with is the key is tricky to use. We were on a family vacation and the room was for a family. It was a little living room. A sink area with a refrigerator. A desk with a light you can work from. There was a little closet. A second sink with a large mirror. The bathroom was your basic bathroom. There was a tiny wall that separated the living room area and bed. The bed was pretty comfortable. This place is literally across the street from a huge shopping center. I stayed at this Hyatt Place when I was traveling for work (Jan. 2019) & first off let me say that the views from this hotel location are SO beautiful! To be able to look out my hotel window & see the mountains was very awesome for sure & this hotel is located directly across the street from the Albuquerque Uptown Mall..literally walking distance. The hotel itself is fairly new & very clean. I do agree w/ a previous review left that the tv is located in a funky way but it does have a swivel on it so you can move the direction of the tv. So to start with the positive; the rooms were very Spacious and clean, the breakfast was awesome and the staff handling serving really made any accomadation they could,, they were wonderful plenty! The room had plenty of towels, the hotel is pet friendly, which for this trip was a must! The down side: I wish they would have had the pet fee listed as it was much higher than I am used to paying. The pet potty area was small and had low trees where it was difficult to walk. The person who checked us in did not give any information as to where the iss machine was, when breakfast was, and so on. He seemed all around annoyed. All in all the cons are small details and my overall experience was good. I dont think I would come back here with my pets because of the cost but without them I would. read more

Very clean and nice staff! We stayed here on our way home from Texas with our two French bulldogs. The room was clean and very up-to-date and the staff was super nice. The breakfast was pretty fresh for Covid I guess but I'm sure it's much better when everything is not prepackaged. The only downfall is they have very limited vegetarian options for breakfast. The breakfast sandwiches all have meat. Other than that it was a nice stay. They have the perfect location next to many stores and even a Trader Joe's ! read more

Location of this hotel is great as there are shops and restaurants surrounding it. The breakfast was basic, bacon, French toast sticks and scrambled eggs. The lady who helped me in check in was great but the woman serving the breakfast gave me an attitude. There was nobody in front of me and I only wanted bacon and she grudgingly threw it on my plate. I went back and said can I have more bacon and she said I'm not sharing the bacon. So I was a little taken back and then she said okay I'll be nice. And then she threw a few pieces on my plate and said is this enough so I asked for one more. She told me she'd see me again later and so in spite I did not go back. I could hear her complaining to her other coworker and because of her I would not come back to this hotel. read more

SUCH BULLSHIT, BUNCH OF LYING THIEVES - So per the managers orders, not even corporate directive, is that ANY belonging, REGARDLESS OF VALUE that is left in the room is thrown in the GARBAGE. Seriously? So COVID is yes, worrisome, but not so enough that they can wash some sheets and clean bathrooms to make that money. BUT if you leave clothing and jewelry, that mind you was attempted to be claimed hours later, dear god it could have COVID. I was told that everything, EVERYTHING, regardless of value, is thrown in the garbage. Don't leave your jewelry, or anything of decent value, I'm sure it will truly go in the garbage and not in the pawn shop or on the bell hops girlfriend, and their GM is the ring leader. Update: Filed a formal complaint with Hyatt Consumer Affairs, who remit the complaint to the GM, "Chenaz" (super classy individual) She did confirm that everything found, "even expensive items like diamond ear rings", is "unfortunately" thrown in the garbage. Apparently, "There is no way to store found items and protect our staff". Which is screaming BS. There is no courtesy call (even though they have all your info), no nothing. GARBAGE. I'm sure diamonds, jewelry, and things of value are trashed and not pocketed. (Would you throw diamond earrings in the garbage?) To add insult to injury, after multiple requests, she vehemently refused to have anyone go back to the room just to double check for the items in case they were missed. She persisted that nothing was found, although she struggled to provide the name of the housekeeper she spoke with that stated there was no jewelry or clothing left in the room. She also reiterated that "even if it was found, it would get thrown away anyway" so there really is no point in even trying. Professionalism at its finest. She was super pissed that a complaint was even filed, and made the cute comment that, it if I "knew how much the jewelry was worth in value, then I should have made sure to pick it up myself", because surely she or her "employees would never steal". Hyatt Consumer Affairs hands are tied to an extent because this is a franchised location; although at real Hyatt locations, disposing of personal items certainly is NOT acceptable protocol or policy. Chenaz - karma boomerangs swiftly, and I am sending my fullest regards along with it. We canceled our return trip and will never stay at this BS hotel again. read more

I stayed here last week and had a king room on the second floor. The room was clean and very nice. I really liked the layout with the sectional couch in the living area away from bed. There was also a wet bar in the room. The staff here was friendly as well. The location is really good as it's right across the street from ABQ Uptown, the mall, and the other shopping plazas in the area. So why the 4/5 stars? Housekeeping was a little odd to me, as far as the things that they straightened and the things that they didn't. Some of my facial cleanser had squirted out in the shower after my first night there and I although I forgot to clean it up myself, I found it odd that it was left on the floor by housekeeping, even though they had been in there and straightened things up. They may have thought it was something inappropriate *awkward* and didn't want to clean it up, but it was face cleanser and just needed to be wiped up. Also, the breakfast here is strange and nothing to write home about. They pride themselves on having a very "eclectic" breakfast, but I wasn't really impressed. If yogurt is your thing, then you'll love it as they have a make your own yogurt parfait bar. They also have regular scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes (which was the best thing I had here), waffles, and cereal. The waffle that I had was very hard and must've been out on the warm stove all morning and got dried out. No bueno. It's nice of them to offer free breakfast and it's nice that it's not just a continental breakfast, but I wasn't really impressed. read more

We stayed here twice during our New Mexico trip. Both stays were equally great and fine, staff were friendly, and rooms were clean. Upon entering and checking in, a person from the front desk will open the door for you as they are limiting hotel guests/big groups. Alex greeted us both times and was friendly. Hyatt place room was very standard with a desk, couch, bed, bed with outside sink. Hotel breakfast was amended due to pandemic. Options included breakfast sandwich and avocado toast, cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal along with coffee, milk, juice. The Hyatt location is in a great place - you have two malls within walking distance so there is a lot of shopping and things to do around the area. You'll have to drive to get to downtown. Overall, great hotel and enjoyed my stay twice! read more

This hotel is 34 years old; bought by Hyatt in 2006. It shows its age. Some changes are needed: - Put mattress protectors on the beds. - Deep clean the rooms: the rugs, the sofas, the ironing board covers, etc. - Replace the bathroom lights and mirrors. The light is a sick yellow and the mirror also distorts the reflection. Very disturbing. - Fix the air conditioner so it sounds less like an idling truck. - Serve coffee all day in the lobby - Serve ice water in the lobby - Stop using the fisheye lens for pool photos. It is not nearly as big as it is made to appear. - Replace the ugly curtains and ensure that the entire window can be exposed. - Put better window stoppers on the window tracks. Stop using little alan screws. Yikes. - Develop team building sessions and incentivize staff with a reward program. They work hard, but seem unrewarded and somewhat abandoned by management. Do what it takes to retain your hard working staff! - Fix the elevators, remove sign that limits to 4 people. You are scaring your guests with that signage. - Do not rely on location and full occupancy as a sign of success. read more

Four stars for giving me the handicapped room almost all the time. About a dozen times-but partially it's my fault because I travel at a short notice. They fixed this problem just very recently. This is like staying at the Hyatt without the Hyatt full service: meaning you don't get valet parking, no restaurant to order food 24/7 or the requisite room service for the little sandwich place they have near the front desk. They make up for this by giving you free Starbucks Coffee in your room and downstairs with your free breakfast. FREE wireless everywhere. Yay! You can print your boarding pass for free too! You can self check at a kiosk near the front desk or check in the regular way. From time to time I would do that- front desk staff are very polite and professional. they do their best to give me the non-handicapped room with all the low sink and handle bars in the bathroom. Grab free apples on your way in or out of the hotel. Free breakfast of nice eggs and lots of fruits and what's cool too you can request for an omelette to be made for you. I love the contemporary design of the hotel with the 42 inch LCD Flat panel tv with hookups for about anything like: Playstation and Wii. HBO and Showtime and others are free for your enjoyment as well. They have an outdoor pool that you can enjoy when you find the time. There suites are awesome. Carpets are clean. Their bedsheets are crisps and clean. The entire hotel was renovated a couple of years ago and it rocks! Btw- for the shop-freaks there is a mall across the street within walking distance. You literally just cross the street and you're there. It's very similar to Santana Row in style where it's open where you can walk around and stop to throw your $$$. All in all I like this hotel for the vicinity to shopping and restaurants. It's about the 7.3 miles to the airport so it's not the closest but it's worth it. This is the go to place for me and one of the nicest hotel if not THE NICEST. Price-wise: $89/night. read more

This place is great. The rooms are clean, check in is easy, and staff is friendly. Parking is easy. The room was spacious but it had a lot of wasted space. The beds were two full size beds, not even queens. Meaning, they were on the small side, but the were comfortable. Lots of good restaurants and stores nearby. The breakfast tasted great, the staff was super nice. I don't think the cook wears a hairnet, which is concerning. Especially when you find hair in the food, is it mine? Is it his? This hotel is very comfortable and very clean. The staff were always available and helpful. The breakfasts were amazing, and the area was nice with many shopping and dining options. I would like to mention that my door malfunctioned at 9pm one evening and we couldn't get into my room. They called David the facility manager and he was onsite and I was back in my room with 15 min. Pros: -The staff practiced and followed strict guidelines to protect guests from COVID-19. -Bed was very comfortable. -Room layout was spacious and seemed clean. Cons: -The welcome letter on the desk had crusty food crumbs stuck on it. Made us wonder if the room was actually really clean although it seemed like it. We let it slide since we were exhausted from a long road trip. -They served breakfast in grab bags of either just yogurt and apple OR a small plastic wrapped muffin and apple. Seemed a bit chintzy for a high profile hotel. I thought they would offer all three items but I was told we just pick the two choices. I suppose I was spoiled at another motel that offered vouchers to a local restaurant and the breakfast there was amazing. Don't expect 'breakfast' here but a light snack. -Toilet made a loud annoying sound when it was flushed. Guess no one bothered to check? I want to be nice given the circumstances that we're all in, but I would expect more from a high profile hotel. I thought the experience was just okay with a slight disappointment. WARNING!!! We booked a room over six months in advance with free cancellation at Hyatt Place Albuquerque/Uptown. We were notified by Frontier Airlines that they no longer fly to Albuquerque on Tuesdays and they had moved our departure flight up one day. We contacted Hyatt Place Albuquerque/Uptown and informed them through no fault of our own we need to check out one day earlier. They denied our request and told us it would be a new reservation and they wanted a $100 a night higher rate for each of the 3 nights!!! And this verdict comes from a manager no less. This is a classless act that you usually only see from low end sleazebag hotels.
