Dishonest! Went to book a stay through the app, selected their King Suite (wanted the extra bedroom, so wife and I could have a bit of privacy from the kid. We've been traveling a while), and it showed the option of being able to book at least one night with points and cash. As we wanted to stay multiple nights, I couldn't do that through the app (app wanted to do the points plus cash deal for every night). So, I called up their reservation line. I made sure to tell them that I wanted a King Suite. We got it booked at nearly the same cost as their app, and I thought all was good. We got in very late (they were informed of our late arrival) and I proceeded to the counter. We were NOT booked into a King Suite, but a King with sofa bed. They wanted to charge us an additional $60 for the room I had requested and booked. The gentleman said he couldn't do anything about it, but I could speak to a manager the next morning. Well, spoke to the manager this morning. He said we were not booked in a King Suite, but a standard King. He also said that it's an additional $60-70 up-charge for the King Suite and then showed me on his phone how a King Suite is nearly $200 and not the $135 that I was shown the previous day, through the app. So, I pulled up the app and showed him how the room is saying $123 now, for a King Suite. Now he's telling me that we're in a "King Suite"!? I show him the description, "Enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows in two walls of this corner room". We have 2 windows, on One wall, and they're Not "floor-to-ceiling"! Also, "Separate sleeping and living areas". The manager tries to tell me that we do have separate areas as there is a divider. According to him, a two foot pseudo-wall is a divider, making separate areas!? (I grabbed a screenshot of the app, will take pics of the room.) We will be finding alternative arrangements for the remainder of our stay, and I doubt I'll ever stay at a Hyatt again! Utterly dishonest, bait and switch! BEWARE! (Also, at this point, I'm not sure, but they may try and charge me for canceling our stay. It didn't come up, as I was too upset at the dishonesty and treatment). read more

A very nice hotel!! The rooms are spacious and clean. Nicely decorated without much frills or thrills. It has a small lounge for breakfast, included with rooms. Room service for in room dinning is not available, but you can pickup your order from the downstairs. The staffs are excellent and supportive. read more

I had Expedia points so to celebrate a special occasion, we decided to spend the night at the Hyatt, one of the newest hotels along 100 Avenue. The parking was plentiful as it wasn't busy for a weekday. The check in is at 3PM and we arrived after to be greeted by 2 staff behind the counter. The staff was friendly and provided the 411: we would need our room keys in the elevator to access our floor (which I liked that extra security), they have Starbucks, a bar, and also 24/7 restaurant that you can order food and come downstairs to pick up, directed us to where the gym and pool are located, and to the business centre where we could access a printer as well. The lobby is spacious and lots of seating by the bar area, and walking from the check in desk towards the elevator, there are a couple of nooks with seating for 2 or 3 and a TV to a private viewing area and they all had on hockey. There was just one elevator working as the other was out of order but it was quick and I never had to wait more than 30 seconds for the elevator. Our king bed room was on the 6th floor and it was large. There's was a L sofa, desk, mini fridge, TV, and closet. The bathroom had a large shower but no bathtub and with the frosted glass door, it wasn't that private and you could hear the goings on in the bathroom but we are with friends and family, right? It was very clean, and comfortable, and lots of room. With the roll down curtains, it was very dark for the night and great for people who like it pitch black. Wifi was reliable and quick. There were a noise that I heard in the evening, but I wasn't quite sure what it was. Maybe laundry, or something? I wasn't sure if it would disrupt my sleep but I was able to fall asleep. I'm glad the hotel wasn't busy as I didn't hear noise from other guests or water running, although I did hear a few doors open/close. The help yourself buffet breakfast was until 9AM the next morning, even though check out is 11AM. We were there at 8:30AM and found only a handful of tables occupied with people eating. The open concept is good, especially if it was busy. The main area had jugs of water and juices. There was cereal, yogurt, granola, fruit, ham, eggs, potatoes (wouldn't recommend), and waffles. There was also a toaster with English muffins and bread. I liked the fresh fruit salad and made a sandwich with my toasted English muffin, eggs, and ham. The coffee and tea were located outside of the main area and in the bar area so on the way out we got a coffee and tea. The gym had 3 treadmills, an elliptical, a bike, and free weights. There were sanitizing towels, water cooler, and earbuds. The machines were great with the TVs and lots of channels available. I also used the pool but there's no change room so change upstairs before you head down. There is a shower just off to the side of the pool but it's not private. There's a hot tub too but I didn't use it. The pool was quiet when I went at 9PM and I was the only one there. It's open until 11PM and the last hour, it's adults only. This is a great new hotel addition in the west end. I enjoyed our stay, even just to get away from work and home life for a day! read more

This hotel met my expectations! I booked my stay according to TripAdvisor reviews. It was very modern, clean and I really enjoyed the music they played in the lobby and front entrance. I booked this stay dependent on the location and breakfast. Gym would have been nice but it was only cardio and free weights (no machines or cables). The room was spacious, immaculate in cleanliness. I would have enjoyed a microwave, free bottled water ($3.50ea) and a bathtub so I could shave my legs easier, haha. The breakfast was varied day to day which I also liked. It would be nice if they could have left the coffee on for longer than breakfast time, otherwise excellent stay! read more

Kind of an overview of my personal experience staying the night at this hotel. Overall would definitely recommend staying here for short vacation stays. Day 1: Check-In Day - lobby was very clean (and smelled strangely amazing) - cute minimalist rooms - front doors to the rooms are heavy and require you to pull them shut otherwise will remain open - excellent and efficient service/super friendly staff (asked to check in early and were very accommodating, also asked for an extra duvet cover and arrived very quickly to fulfil our request) - relatively empty hotel, not crowded (could be because of the recent hotel opening) - the room was very clean, even smelled "new" (this could also be due to recent opening of hotel) - the bathroom door was kind of odd.. Had a modern frosted glass finish (which didn't feel the most private) and got jammed halfway when opening (unless you wanted to force it open and make a high pitched screeching sound) - walls are very thin, can hear other people very easily at 12pm - the gym is very nice, small, typically empty and has a view of the pool (also small) which is really convenient if you want to workout and keep an eye on the kids Day 2: Check-Out Day - black out curtains are excellent - they also make it difficult to wake up on time for the free breakfast (weekdays: ends at 9am, weekends: ends at 10) - breakfast is really good, lots of variety and set up like a buffet style so plenty of refills - check out was smooth and without hassle read more

Currently staying here for 3 nights. This is my last night, leaving in the morning. So far, i am very impressed. Early check in was easy, the complimentary breakfast is excellent (for complimentary), modern decor and very pleasant staff. 1 specific comment about Diego. I have a very sore throat and went to the front desk area to ask for salt. He was extremely helpful. Not only did he give me salt, but he recommended a remedy of lemon, honey and tequila. I don't drink so i had to pass on that, but nonetheless, he still made me a combo of hot water, lemon and honey. Plus the salt (to gargle with hot water). The whole experience so far has been excellent, so in my opinion they deserve 5 Star based on my personal experience here. read more

We stayed here from August 13th to August 15th, 2020. At first glance, this hotel seemed pretty nice. It's new, and on the surface it looked nice and clean. However, looks were very deceiving. Some of the reviews online state that the hotel is "close to downtown." Obviously this isn't the hotel's fault, but the hotel is 4 kilometres from downtown, I wouldn't call that "close." My wife found a deal online that charged us around $350 for two nights, so we figured that it was a pretty good price compared to most other hotels in the area and within it being so new, the price seemed better. However, when she booked it, she wrote her email address on the forms wrong and didn't end up receiving a confirmation email to confirm the price. When we did check out, they charged us over $500 for the room, but because we weren't able to prove the original price, we had to pay the $500. The lady at the front desk did not attempt to even try to fix the problem. If we would have known this would be the price, we DEFINITELY would have stayed somewhere closer to downtown. The windows in the room don't open. The blinds in our room were broken, and when I tried to close them, they fell down on top of me. The fire alarm went off during our stay, and after having to wait around outside we found out that some pipes had burst, causing the alarm and the lobby was flooded. While I was out visiting family, I tried to call the hotel to find out information about the the pool, whether it was open during covid, etc. I discovered there was no direct line to the front desk, I kept having to navigate automated menus and finally someone from corporate reservations tried to connect me but unfortunately "no one at the front desk was answering at the moment." I was never able to actually speak with someone who actually worked at the hotel, it was all call centers. The garbage can in the underground parkade was overflowing to the point of there being piles of trash all over the ground next to the entrance to the hotel and some of it was leaking stinking liquid all over the ground. The elevators on the first day were so busy that it got to the point where we'd be waiting for 10 minutes to get on. On the second day, one of the two elevators broke down, making the waits for the elevator nearly 30 minutes. We took the stairs. By far though, the worst thing is the way they're handling the breakfast area during covid. - Crowds of 20 people or more, nobody wearing masks, all crowded around the small breakfast area. - Nobody using sanitizer and no staff to enforce the use of it. - Nobody wiping down touch points, nobody trying to control the flow of guests into the area where the food is. - I watched 3 different families bring their kids in, nobody with masks, and the kids were touching the counters and food and cutlery and a few of them sneezed into their hands then touched all those things and nobody used sanitizer. - The hotel staff were nowhere to be found. - The garbage in the breakfast area was overflowing. - We had to leave the breakfast area to get the front desk person to clean and sanitize a table so we could use it. - The tables are in the eating area are set up in such a way that there is no possibility of people following the 2 meter social distancing rules. - The breakfast food packages are all piled together, and touched by everyone getting their breakfast. - Nobody enforcing the "50% Occupancy" rules in the breakfast area. The bed was comfy, the restaurant/bar was alright at night, and the staff were nice, but other than that, my family and I definitely won't ever stay here again, nor will we ever suggest others stay here. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights mid week. It's great that it is only a 5 minute drive from West Edmonton Mall and half the price for a regular room compared to Fantasyland Hotel. The Hyatt has a great pool and hot tub (we couldn't enjoy the hot tub as it was being cleaned out from an overly gross hockey tournament stay). The breakfast offered in the mornings was really great. I won't complain as it was included. Last time in Edmonton, we stayed at Fantasyland, paid close to $350 per night and then were charged $30 each for a breakfast buffet that had basically the same things. Only downside was the road noise from main road and the cold air flow from the main system. I'd ask for a room on the far side next time. And we just cranked the heat. All the staff were super friendly. Cute little eating area by the check in. Not a full restaurant per say but enough for a snack. We will stay here again. read more

Rooms are nice looking, seem clean. Towels are rough and unpleasant, beds comfortable, they use a strongly scented fabric softener, my gf has very sensitive skin and the bedspread gave her a terrible rash. The clock radio cord was frayed (fire hazard), internet does not work on the far side of the hotel. Not very impressed. read more

I enjoyed my stay as the room were spacious and clean. I loved that we got to stay on the top floor with a view of the city. The only down side to this hotel is the location. As to get to the hotel you have to travel on towards a one way street. The restaurant inside the hotel has limited food choices but their prices are reasonable. The food also tastes fresh and amazing! Highly recommend it as the portion sizes are also reasonable. Breakfast is included and the hot breakfast with selections such as almond milk, greek yogurt and mini donuts. I would recommend trying the mini donuts! read more

I stayed at this hotel for a night and it was phenomenal. The room was very clean. The hotel was fairly quiet even though there was many guests staying at the time. The front desk was very friendly and made checking in and out a breeze. Minutes from west Edmonton mall and lots of restaurants and accommodations. They do offer complimentary breakfast which includes items such as coffee,tea,cereal, toast, sausages, waffles, etc. Breakfast is served right when you walk into the lobby. It can be fairly busy and may be difficult to find a place to sit so make sure to get down there early. Will definitely be staying here again! read more

First impression: The staff are amazing! We had a slight mix up with our reservation, but Iman got it straightened out and followed up with us. The room is lovely. It's large with plenty of space for two people to sit and have quality laptop time. We picked up light supper items to have in our room. The hotel staff allowed us to borrow dishes and flatware from the breakfast room, which made the experience really nice. Breakfast is not that different from the regular "free" fare you get at most mid-price hotels. But they have nicer quality and much better service. The only thing I'm not crazy about: The barn-door style bathroom door. It's too noisy in the middle of the night. read more

A couple of weeks ago my mother passed away and I came to Edmonton and stayed at this hotel. The entire staff there was amazing from their help getting my suit dry cleaned at the last moment to the great breakfast in the morning. However there was one special standout, the chef. My first night in town I was hungry but I have a cheese allergy that limits my options. The chef personally came out to help me. I told him it was ok but he said he would not leave until I had eaten. He made me a special meal which was flatbread and vegetables with avocado. It was delicious. It should be a regular item on their menu. Just thanking him, which I did,is not enough. He went out of his way to make sure I was happy. This kind of attention did not go unnoticed and I wanted his boss and all of you to know. read more

Decent little place. Could have quieter music playing in the lounge/reception area. We asked our waitress to turn the music down as we were the only people (5 of us) in the lounge and her words to us were "I'm sorry, I can't. My boss is here otherwise I would" since when is the boss's preference more important than the customers? Also worth noting we were there for a conference and everyone who had rooms over the covered drop off area complained that they could hear the music they have blasting out there all night, so maybe ask for a room elsewhere.
