The staff was great! Everyone was so nice and the lobby was maintained very well. Our room was altogether different. I'm not sure if it was because we had a small dog or if normal rooms looked the same? Our room smelled like a pet room. It was outdated in decor etc. The room was a small step up from a motel room. The pillows had two different colors of hair on them. We were able to get new pillows and cases, but the overall feel of the room made us very uncomfortable. The hot water in both sinks didn't come in until the last day. The size of the bathroom was extremely small for average-sized guests. Per the reviews, we expected a nice place to sleep for a few days, but we hated having to come back. Our dog was very uncomfortable as well. read more

Clean rooms, super friendly staff, nice hot breakfast. Located near some decent restaurants. There's a small bar inside the lobby with good pricing on drinks. They also serve some bar food if you don't feel like leaving the hotel. In the room your TV has a nice feature of an external panel you plug your media into. (See pic). Very handy. I have two complaints: 1. internet speeds are awful. Useable, but just barely. 2. At breakfast they offer serve scrambled eggs, Every day that I had them theynwere cold. read more

It was so-so. I've stayed at this location a few times and found our stay in January of 2021 to be ok. The hotel is starting to show it's age. We stayed in a room on the 2nd floor and there were several stains on the carpet and the walls. In some sections it was just, plain gross. That being said, the beds and pillows were comfy. Rooms were quiet. Didn't really hear many neighbors. We didn't partake in any breakfast, but got a few glasses of wine right after check out. I asked the staff member for a Pinot Grigio and Pinot noir, but she just poured two glasses of Pinot Grigio. They were about 5.75 a piece, so can't complain. The location is good, but I don't think I'll stay here again until there are some renovations. read more

We booked a one night stay after the week in Chicago so we could be near where our camper was being fixed. Online the pictures looked nice, a little outdated but clean and nice. When we arrived and saw the hotel I wish I could have cancelled, but would have forfeited my cost for the room since it was before the 25 hour notice. The hotel is extremely outdated, like out of the 90s to include a cordless phone in the room. There is a thick layer of dust on the sprinklers in the room and on the curtains. There was hair (not mine) on the pillow cases and the room smells musky. The staff was very kind and courteous which is the only reason this review gets 2 stars instead of 1. read more

The staff is the best. They are very accommodating and friendly. They did the best they could for a Covid safe breakfast. Everything was individually wrapped and they require a mask in common areas. Cleaning crew does a nice job for turndown service and they are very thorough upon check in and checkout. Will be sending family and friends to this location. My family and I stayed here while my son attended a soccer camp nearby. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff is very friendly. Due to Covid-19, they provided breakfast that was in take-out packaging, which was great. Made it quick and easy to dine in our room while getting ready for our day. The only reason for four stars versus five was the size of the bathroom, which was difficult at times to get in and out of, and the sink faucet that sprayed when you washed your hands. But those are both details. Overall, it was a great and comfortable stay and we would happily choose this hotel again the next time we're in town. Highly recommend. read more

This was my first time in Fort Wayne and I had an excellent time. I came up for a wedding and the hotel was amazing. My room was a good size we had a sofa in the room. Only issue is that bathroom was really small the clearance from the door to toilet was inches. The second night there Was a loud group who was across the hal from us. I asked them to turn it down but they didnt do it enough and continue to make noise. I called downstairs and they handled it in less than a few minutes. But the best thing was the bar staff, the 2nd shift are the greatest. Diane, Dan and Kara are fun, full of life and joyous. They kept us laughing and we had a great time with them. I stay here any time I need to stay in Fort Wayne. For starters it is easy to get to, it is mega clean and well kept and it is close to a lot of the things I normally go to while I'm in the area. Their breakfast bar is one of the best I've had in a really long time. They have a nice selection of usually scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, a variety of juices, bread, muffins and etc. The rooms are spacious and make you feel like you're at home. I like Hyatt Places, in fact, on shorter stays, this hotel is on the top of my list, but sadly, there's at least one major drawback to this otherwise wonderful hotel. Pros: + Holy space batman. The rooms in Hyatt places have a 4 piece couch complete with foot rest, a wet bar, a fridge, a full bath, a closet, a bathroom, and a bed, all with a room divider so it feels like two rooms. + The bar downstairs is kind of nice if in a pinch, and it'll make Starbucks. + The TVs are a great size and pivot back and forth between one side of the room and the other. They also have convenient hook ups and switches for VGA and HDMI + The proximity to a 24 hour Walmart and the movie theater is helpful. + The manager is extremely friendly and helpful. Cons: - The single biggest problem with the Hyatt Place is the lack of laundry. If not for this, I would be staying at this hotel every time I was in Fort Wayne. - While the rooms are astonishingly spacious, the layout is slightly odd in that the wash up area (sink and counter) for the bathroom is in the room, not the bathroom. - The internet could be better. - The distance from the nicer places downtown is a little sad. - Some of the staff is less than warm. - The breakfast could be better Once again though, if space and comfort are the goals, this hotel has plenty of both. A business trip recently took me to Fort Wayne, Indiana for a few days. My coworker took care of the hotel arrangements beforehand, and I was pleased to find that he chose this Hyatt. Upon arrival, the staff were able to quickly process our payments, provide room keys, and explain pertinent information for our stay. The amenities were pretty sweet. The room was clean and very spacious. A full size desk was available along with a couch and ottoman for additional seating. There was even a secondary sink installed in what could have been easily used as a snack bar. I'm glad I remembered my bathing suit on this trip to enjoy the outdoor pool. I would have been disappointed if I hadn't visited in the middle of the summer. As bratty as it sounds, I was definitely disappointed to not find a hot tub. Breakfast is worth sticking around for as there were good quality, tasty hot items served along with a easy to grab packaged items. The location of the hotel was extremely convenient. We were in town for a conference at the Grand Wayne Convention Center, which was less than 15 minutes away. We were also able to easily navigate to a large shopping mall, restaurants, and gas stations within that same time frame. This Hyatt stands in between a Walmart Supercenter and a movie theater. read more

Traveling for business and this was a great choice! It is in very close proximity to my destination for business as well as a variety of restaurants, stores and the mall down the street. Best thing ever; Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Christian Book Store and the Dollar Store are literally in the parking lot!!! The movie theater is out the other door! The double suite is very spacious with separate queen sectional, desk/office area and a very spacious vanity area. The room is a little worn (furniture, carpet) but still very comfortable. I had to switch rooms due to a stale odor in the carpet and furniture of my first. The fitness center is small but has adequate, newer cardio machines and free weights. The lobby and kitchen area are beautiful and welcoming, as is the staff. There is a small bar ares where craft cocktails, beer and specialty wines are available in the evening. Breakfast was amazing!!! The set up, dishes and food were awesome! Each day there is a special selection in addition to the basic continental options. Todays was burrito bowls! A-1!!! Everything was freshly cooked and kept hot. I would come back for the breakfast! . Overall, the stay was a perfect choice for a reasonable price. If I had to wish for more, it would be an indoor pool; it is Indiana after all! read more

Impressive little hotel and one of the more contemporary places in FW. I stayed a whole week. Yes, I heard people running thru the halls. Yes, I could hear the plumbing running from time to time. FREE BREAKFAST and a good one! Seriously, I actually wanted to wake up early to make sure I took advantage. The staff---and I mean everyone from housekeeping to GM was incredibly nice, sweet, fun to talk with and accommodating. And one of them (Dan, I think? sorry if I get the name wrong) makes one hell of a mojito. My ONLY complaint is housekeeping: while it says they change the bedsheets only every 3 days, they actually don't sweep or vacuum either. I had to ask/beg for them to do it and it only got done once. I also don't feel like the details of the housekeeping were up to par: my ice bucket was never emptied and put away; the pillows from the sofa were all over, not tidy; things were just not "kept." They only thing I felt housekeeping did was replace the towels and make my bed. So it was a bit disappointing to not see the room as fresh as it could be. The pool is small but heated (outdoors). I would stay here again and it's pet friendly! read more

First time traveling here for business and I chose this for the brand name and it seemed to be a little more modern than the other hotels around. It did not disappoint. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The customer service was great and the staff was friendly. The morning breakfast was much better than I expected for a hotel. Prepared breakfast sandwiches, open face egg topped English muffins, French toast, and many other options! My only complaint would be the same as other complaints on here. The wifi was awful, almost dial-up speed. I am not sure how it is that bad. Get that fixed and this would be a 5 star review for me. This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. I was traveling for an interview and the company put me up here. I was expecting a standard hotel but was amazed at what I found. First, the room is huge, almost what some hotels would consider a suite. First there was a huge, comfy sofa in a wide open room with a desk and a small wet bar area. Just past this is a great king sized bed. At the junction of the two sections is a huge LCD tv. Seriously, it's bigger than my coffee table. It's got every connector you can image set up so you can plug in your dvd player, computer, xbox, whatever. Plus, it's on a swivel so you can turn it to face the bed or the sofa area. Just off to the side of the bed area is the bathroom with a nice large counter. The only thing I'd change is the closet. While normal sized the opening is a bit small. The lobby is really well done and the lounge area set up with some nice tables and a big tv, right next to a small cafe style spot where you can get snacks. A few steps away is the open kitchen area which has a computer system to order food 24 hours a day. If you're visiting Fort Wayne, I can't think of a better place to stay. read more

I've had several good stays at this property. However, this most recent stay was tainted by absolutely horrible internet and an absurdly loud housekeeping staff in the morning. I was already up, but they were disturbingly loud during a conference call I was taking in my room. Lots of restaurants nearby, and a movie theater as well. Great staff. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Very clean. (We are on a road trip and we have seen the range of Hotels, and our room was exceptionally clean.) The luggage carts were available, ready and clean. (another sign that the staff are taking care of the guests, keeping things running smoothly) The team here is clearly paying attention to the details. The breakfast was presented nicely, clearly fresh and with plenty of options for even the most fickle family members. (stares are family members under 4 feet tall) The location worked great for a family with kids. It was easy to get to from the highway, and the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo was less than 10 minutes away. In the immediate vicinity there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Since we had under-10 in our group, the local dairy barn/hot dog stand was ideal. On the other side is a movie theater - which was a definite option for our crew. ALl in all it was a convenient stop over, with surprising vacation feel and benefits. Most travelers are probably here on business, but it was great oasis for our family. read more

We were expecting a bar/lounge but it's really just a few chairs around the corner of the check in desk so it's pretty awkward. (They do have liquor and beer but it looked like a pretty limited selection.) The food is "bistro" style, so you could grab a pre made sandwich if you wanted. Also, the pool is seasonal. However, the workers were totally understanding when we wanted to cancel our reservation. Although I hate it when people review places that they haven't stayed at, I thought that all of this was important information as I wouldn't have booked it if I had known these things. read more

Recently stayed here for one night while on business in Fort Wayne. Only spent about $60 for the room as I got it on Hotwire. The room was decent sized with two full beds and a large couch that was partially separated from the beds. The TV was decent sized and a panel on the wall allowed you to hook up additional devices to the TV if you so desired. The bed and pillows were very comfortable in my opinion and I slept great. The complaint on the bed I had was that it creaked loudly every time I would move or turn over. The room included a sink and fridge in the little "kitchen" area and a sink over by the bathroom. The shower worked great in the morning. It didn't get steaming hot, but that was fine by me. Later in the day, my credit card was charged an additional $15. Come to find out, they charged me for using a weave blanket that was on a shelf in the room.....really? Also, I wouldn't say the hotel is "pet friendly". Yes they let you have your pet stay with you if you want to pay a $75 non-refundable fee. I can't comment on the breakfast as I didn't have time to check it out, but it seemed to be typical hotel breakfast food as I walked through. All of the staff that I interacted with were very friendly and answered any questions I had. I didn't have any issues with noise even though the hotel seemed packed. I would stay here again, assuming I could get the room for a similar price. read more

I am shocked that Hyatt puts its name on this property. Hyatt Place, of course, is a newer Hyatt concept, and many of the actual hotels used to be Amerisuites. I am not sure about this one, but it looks a lot better on the outside than the inside. They've obviously never heard of Stanley Steemer, because the carpets in the rooms and hallways are really gross. There was a Q-Tip on the floor in the hallway from the time we got here through the next day. I saw two different housekeepers roll their carts by, and NEVER picked up the nasty Q-Tip! Speaking of steam, the room was very "moist." The windowbox air conditioner was a nice retro touch, especially in the middle of the night when it would crank up and scare you out of sleep. Lastly, the hotel buts up against the back of a large shopping complex. What a rousing way to greet the day, hearing the roar of garbage trucks outside at 6:45 a.m. read more

I've stayed at the Hyatt Place on three occasions. Over two years ago for business in Ft. Wayne and have found it to be clean, efficient and very comfortable. It almost feels like coming home rather than coming back to a hotel room. It's a few miles from the downtown area, so depending on where you're headed, it may or may not be a convenient location to get to the office, but the advantage is that there are restaurants nearby at night, whereas downtown Ft. Wayne pulls in the sidewalks at 5PM. read more

This has got to be one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I recommend asking if the hotel is having a wedding party staying. Especially one that parties in the halls and every sound is transparent through the paper thin doors. You can hear the flushing of the plumbing from above and the sounds of your neighboring rooms. I have had better, more accommodating experiences at the $39 a night motels. I know the purpose of a hotel is to lay your head, but I thought a good night sleep was also a part of that. For the dollars spent on this hotel, I would recommend finding a different chain of hotels that are more accommodating. I can say for the same dollars spent, you'd be better off at a Country Inn & Suites. This establishment receives ZERO stars from this guy. Short story: Stay somewhere else. read more

Went to Fort Wayne for my son's wedding only to have the entire weekend ruined by this hotel. While the hotel room was very nice and the breakfast quite good, the Hotel advertises that it is "pet friendly". That may be true for pets but the pet owner gets nailed with a $150 room cleaning charge! That's more than I paid for a two nights stay! Ridiculous! I spoke with the manager and she blamed it on Priceline and Priceline blamed it on the hotel policy. That will be my last time to use either the hotel or Priceline. 5 stars for the staff, 3 for the hotel. I stay here regularly for business. Usually a few times a month. I have seen my share of issues...mainly the slow WiFi speeds (they claim to be nearing an upgrade) compared to other hotels in the area. Also, I have noticed the rooms are starting to wear a bit. Little things; like the carpets being stained, noisy springs in some beds, chips in the paint, etc. The place could use a good "sprucing up." But it's not terrible by any means. The staff, however, are amazing. Dan is a great evening/night manager and the others are very friendly. They are kind of a second family since I stay there so often. Dawn, the late night manager is awesome as well (I am a night owl and can't sleep well on the road). Other nice things: mini fridges in each room, 40" flat screen tvs, modern "mini suite" layout, food is decent and available 24/7, full bar near the front desk, free breakfast including hot items (not just cereal and donuts).... MOVIE THEATER LITERALLY NEXT DOOR. For business travelers this is great. You can walk right over and see a movie. Overall it is a decent hotel for the price. AAA rates are available too. It's showing some age, but I come back bc I know what to expect and the staff is great. read more

Stayed here for 2 days the blinds were disgustingly dirty, the tub wasn't fully clean, the bathroom was extremely tiny (not their fault), the pool was closed which there's no statement saying the pool was closed... Check in was fast and easy, so was check out. The ladies at the front desk wore big smiles and were extremely helpful. Right next door is a movie theater and some awesome restaurants minutes away. The room was great and the breakfast in the morning was very good, not to mention the 24 hour snake bar...that was very good I so enjoyed the pizza. I was not expecting this 5 star treatment at a small hotel but that is what we got. The JW Hyatt in Indy should recruit employees from here. Nice hotel,great breakfast, great location! The room we have is a standard room and it is very spacious. The hotel has a nice lobby area and a free breakfast with a variety of hot and cold foods. There is 24 counter food if you need it. We had a service need in our room (clogged commode) and they were up to fix it within 5 minutes. My only complaint is that the front desk service seems to vary greatly depending upon who is on staff. I would definitely go back! read more

This Hyatt is excellent! The bathrooms are very small, but the rooms are otherwise very comfortable and spacious. Even better than the rooms, the staff is absolutely fantastic.
