A friend and I stayed here for several days while visiting in Ft. Wayne. We were both very pleased with our stay here. We received a pleasant greeting from the front desk employees. All the employees were very helpful during our visit. We had a one bedroom suite, which was a separate bedroom, and kitchen/sitting room/dining area. The sofa bed was comfortable (I slept on it) and my friend enjoyed the comfortable bed in the bedroom. Two tvs with Netflix and other streaming services allowed us to log in with our accounts. The kitchen included a full size refrigerator, four burner stove with oven, and dishwasher. The cabinets and drawers were stocked with plates, bowls, silverware, and utensils. Breakfast was very nice and the spinach cheese quiches were delicious. Our room was very clean and well stocked with plenty of towels, extra sheets, blanket, and pillow. This is an excellent location, a quiet area away from traffic but many restaurants and a grocery store are within a short distance of. read more

The entire place needs a complete renovation. My husband and I travel a lot and always stay at Residence Inn hotels, we usually don't have any complaints, but this time was just too overwhelming to not comment on it. This hotel was just dirty and gross!!! read more

First let me tell you about the staff that I encountered at the desk, the gentleman was very nice and accommodating. He called my husband and by name, always a plus, and listened to our concerns and was apologetic for the condition of the room. The lobby is newer, clean and offers either privacy or group seating. The area that houses the food was very clean. We didn't eat there but brought our own coffee maker as the room only has a single serve machine. The halls are nicely lit, exits are marked and the elevator itself was fairly clean (you could see fingerprints, but it was vacuumed). Now we come to the room. The very tired, very used and absolutely filthy room. Every mirror was badly streaked with white that was very hard to remove; the tile floors in the bathroom areas were dirty and had black stuff swept in the corner of the wall and bathtub in the queen room; there was standing water left in the bathtub and mold around the drain; every door was so filthy that I used a wet towelette to clean one panel and it was awful. There was a long blonde hair hanging down from a spider web on the curtain, lady bugs in the both bathrooms, the toaster has leftover frosting/food from another user, the coffee cups chipped, the furniture so worn on the kitchen chairs the fabric under the leather was showing. The cabinets when opened appeared to want to fall off of the wall, they are naked, chipped and one section appeared to have a black substance on it. The stove was dirty. The couch is so worn it sinks in the middle, however, there is some white something spattered all over it, and I mean all over it (?!) gross... all the screens were either disintegrating or ripped so you couldn't open the window, and some of the windows were bent (?). The tv would go on, no sound, you had to turn it in and off and it doesn't stay on the station picked. The bedroom furniture is scraped, banged and looks like donated old dirty furniture. The dishwasher didn't work. There was no hot water in the king bathroom sink. We understand hotels are used, but there was dripping dark stuff behind the doors and dripping from light fixtures. My slippers were filthy on the bottom. The queen bathroom and sink area had the same size hairs all over the floor that wasn't ours resembling hairs from a recent hair cut about an inch long. There were hairs in the bed I slept in. I love Marriott and they are my choice of chain, I stayed in this hotel last year on another floor and the room was just as bad. I gave it a 2 because of the desk clerk, he remembered speaking with me on the phone. read more

My friend from another state and I planned a meet-up in Fort Wayne since he was going there for work. He booked a Residence Inn thinking that since it was a Marriot hotel that it would be to their usual standard. It was anything but. Firstly, the location needs a refresh. The room was decent enough in appearance, but there were definitely signs of areas that were skipped. We went away for a few hours to his work event, turning off all of the lights. When we returned, there were roaches of various sizes and even a huge one in the refrigerator where I had placed an opened fruity drink from the lobby. We were absolutely appalled and called the front desk to complain and switch rooms. When we reached the front desk with all of our things in tow. The staff person my guy spoke to switched out our keys while another staffer who was unaware that we were switching inquired as to what was going on. We explained the bug issue, he looked at his co-worker and exclaimed, "AGAIN!". So apparently this is a continuing issue. The second room was ok, with no signs of bugs.  The room was quiet. We got a pretty good sleep in the comfortable bed. I didn't bother to leave any open drinks or food lying about. The kitchen area went unused because I was afraid more critters would appear. I did see a ladybug on the ceiling which was welcomed. When I went down for coffee one morning, I encountered a really lovely woman who assisted me with ice for my iced coffee concoction. She was the bright spot of the stay. read more

Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a great complimentary breakfast! My husband booked me a room here when I decided to stop halfway through my drive to Detroit. He was a little worried since he didn't know the area. I can now assure anyone that the area is nice and this is a great place to stop. It's right off the highway and there are plenty of places to go grab a bite withing a few miles. Not to mention, it's right across the road from a hospital. When I did my check in the girl at the front desk was really nice and engaged in small talk as she finished things on her end. Walking into my room I immediately saw that the TV remote was set out in a clear plastic slip as if to show it had been wiped down since the previous customer. Then at breakfast I was shocked to see the spread. It's been almost 3 years since I have seen a complete continental breakfast. When I travel I like to start my day off right. I get travel tummy. So I need my morning tea. It's not every day that a hotel will provide honey at their coffee and tea station. But this one did! As I made my way over to the carb corner I noticed a carton of oatmilk besides the individual cartons of cow's milk. Bravo for that one too. I don't do well over caring in the morning. I prefer some straigh protein if I can get it. The only thing they had for me in that department was the boiled eggs. I'm not really a fan. So I went with one of their prepackaged breakfast sandwiches. Not exactly my favorite, but you can't please everyone. At least I got some meat. Overall, I'd definitely stop here again. It seems like they have a great team. In fact, there are women out in the hall right now with their cleaning carts setting up for today's travelers. Everyone who works here seems to be on their A game and that's huge these days. Edit to add- I forgot to mention that the pullout bed's pieces were folded and stacked super nice in their plastic bedding bag. read more

Visited on Father's day wkd. Was so disappointed that the indoor pool was closed!!! I honestly think hotels should tell u in advance when that happens. We were offered a free pass to the YMCA, but I was already closed, or we could visit another hotel. That would be a pain! The room was big and very comfortable. Especially the bed, super comfy. I can't think of a single thing that this hotel could do better. From the notes left by the housekeepers wishing me a good day.... To the gentleman keeping grounds....to the wait staff at breakfast/dinner.... To the front staff...every single person and every single encounter was wonderful, pleasant and all about, not just giving me what I needed but, anticipating my needs. This hotel has the new Marriott theme that rolled out last year. The photographs posted here are accurate. The rooms are clean, quiet, peaceful and nicely decorated. I stayed in a one bedroom suite for a week. In some residence inns that I've stayed in previously, the rooms didn't have an oven, but this hotel provides small stoves with ovens. I worked too much this trip, so I didn't cook a single day, but of course, the rooms are stocked with basic pots and pans to help cook simple meals. The hotel is located near a good deal of nice restaurants and shopping. It is about a 15 min drive from down town. Breakfast every morning... And dinner on Mon/Tues. Wed nights vary with treats (s'mores), dinner or food trucks. beer and wine is served with the complimentary dinners. I will admit, i enjoyed a beer two of the nights. These folks know hospitality. It could be just the day we arrived but the hallways had a strong smell of smoke. The room was missing laundry bags and had toilet paper in the toilet was not flushed. There were no hangers in the closets. Linens were missing for the couch. The person at the desk was fine. The internet worked but was slow with an upload of 7mbs and download of only 5mbs. read more

My husband and I were visiting his family in Ft Wayne recently and chose Residence Inn as our hotel based on the solid online reviews and on our brand loyalty to Marriott. We typically have a great experience with them. What was good: The staff couldn't be more friendly or accommodating. The location is terrific, near lots of dining and shopping options. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The property is quiet and the lobby is well stocked with anything you might need. The pricing was very reasonable. The wifi is free and worked very well. The bed was comfy and we slept soundly. What could use some improvement: The first room we were given was not acceptable because the carpet and the sofa and pillows were all soaking wet from having been steam cleaned or shampooed. We were moved to the only other room they had available on a sold out weekend, whose carpet was not quite as wet but still far from dry, and whose sofa was mostly dry...but the room had stale smell as if someone had gone against the no-smoking policy. The room was damp and musty for our entire two night stay because the carpet never dried. Our clothes absorbed the smell of the room as well, and that was unfortunate. Also, for location that gets a lot of rain and snow, we were surprised that there is not a canopied front access or porte cochere so that guest do not have to make a rain-soaked mad dash to their car but could instead pull up to the front and pick up their belongings and other guests. Next time, we will try one of the other Marriott properties in town. read more

This location is extremely convenient. I like not only the highway access, but also the nearby variety of dining options: from fine to fast food. There's also access to the Towpath Eagle Marsh Trail for running and hiking. The property is not new, but well-appointed rooms. The breakfast area is nice, and the food served is excellent. The fitness center is small, with only one each treadmill & elliptical, and bench with free weights. They have a large pool and sauna, too. I like staying here, but I don't like the rooms near the generator in the back. Nice fire pit and outdoor area. read more

I just spent 20 days at the residence Inn and it was great. The staff at the front desk we're all very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean. Loved the microwave, dishwasher, oven, refrigerator... All very handy to have in the room and used. Located very close to walking trails near a marsh and woods that were very lovely. I love Marriott, but the Residence Inn Fort Wayne is the worst property I've ever stayed at. Upon arrival the room was musty smelling and hot, as the A/C was not turned on. The alarm clock was not set anywhere close to the correct time. The foam pillows I requested were not provided in the room. I found the shower head in the bathroom completely calcified and covered in green mold. Finally, the last straw is that a roach was literally just crawling on me as I was laying in bed. I attached a few pictures to show I'm not exaggerating. Keep in mind that I'm a "gold elite" member and supposed to have an "upgraded room," although this is actually the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in. I finally just called the manager on duty to report these issues as I hate to complain, but the roach crawling on me as I was trying to sleep was just too much... She (Erica I think?) was not rude or anything but just seemed less than empathetic. She offered to move me to another room (tomorrow but not tonight as they are fully booked) but since I have only one more night at this property it would just be an inconvenience for me to move rooms now. She never actually apologized for my experience or offered me any other form of service. I told her I at least wanted an exterminator to treat my room as soon as I leave in the morning, which she said she would do. So, I was not exactly overjoyed with the level of customer service either. I currently have 5 nights booked at the Residence Inn in Rochester, NY for next week and then 5 more nights booked back at this property the week after... but I'm going to immediately be looking for new accommodations for those 10 nights. I'm so disappointed in the Residence Inn brand and will avoid it at all costs from now on, and I can't give them another couple grand in business. It's really a shame because the Marriott (non Residence Inn) location in downtown Fort Wayne next to the convention center is excellent, but unfortunately too far from my work site. Marriott should sell or close down the Residence Inn brand... it's so gross, not up to Marriott standards by any measure. read more

I go to Ft. Wayne a few times a year because my husband and I both have family in or around town. Sometimes we need to stay in a hotel because other family comes in and it's either that or sleep on an air mattress. We chose to stay at this hotel for the first time for two nights on a cousin's wedding weekend, being that it's close to my grandma's new place and centrally located to other family. There is ample parking available, and the hotel is easy to get around. There is a small pool and hot tub (indoor) which we wanted to check out but didn't get a chance to. We had the one bedroom suite, which has a living room with a small table, a couch (with pull out), TV, coffee table, desk, and also a kitchen with a full sized fridge, small over and dishwasher, microwave, and everything else you'd need if you were staying here for awhile. Through a doorway was the bedroom, which had a king bed, another tv (both were BIG and plasma), and then the bathroom with separate areas for the sink and the shower/toilet. It was very nice!! Clean, spacious, and had everything needed to be comfortable. I was very impressed. The bed was very comfy and the sleep quality was excellent! No noise from the outside or others. Breakfast in the morning included cereal, bagels, waffles, fruit, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, and other hot options like hash browns, ham and eggs. Of course, there also was juice, milk, coffee, tea and hot cocoa. It was more than filling and included in the price. The ladies working there kept it clean and well stocked.The breakfast area is roomy and clean, and seems newer. Now, I happened to be staying here when a huge storm hit the area, knocking out power to much of the town, including the hotel. This was halfway through my stay. We ended up getting ready for a wedding at my grandma's house, since she had power. The employees handled the power outage extremely well. They put lanterns and glow sticks throughout the hotel, so at night when we returned to the hotel, people could get around. We decided to check out early due to my dad needing power for his breathing machine, and not knowing when power would come back on for us to get air conditioning and get ready in the morning. The employee working was very nice about it. The power ended up staying out throughout the time where we would have stayed, so it was a good decision. I was unsure if I would get a refund for the night where I checked out early, but when I called to ask, the manager agreed without question. I was really impressed, because I know it was out of the hotel's control that there was no power and they surely took a financial hit because of it. That courtesy ensured that this hotel WILL be my hotel of choice on future visits to Ft. Wayne without question. Great hotel, and I HIGHLY recommend it! read more

Due to my husbands job we find ourselves traveling a lot and living I. Hotels for months at a time. With a 3 year old this can be a bit hard. But we manage. The team here has been amazing. This is one of the first long trips my son has taken with us and they have been amazing with him. Nathan who works the front desk at night always gives him a high five and remembers his name. Makes my little dude feel really important. The house keepers are extremely patient with us. They understand he has a nap schedule and try their hardest to work around it. Our room is extremely clean and has everything we need and if we don't have something they do their best to get it for us. Even offered us a DVD player for our son. I love that they have breakfast available every morning and 3 days a week they offer dinner/snacks which you don't see very often at other places. Gives us a chance to mingle and get to know their team of hard workers. The pool has been a life saver. It hasnt been busy so it gives my son the chance to get comfortable getting in. This whole swimming in a big pool is new for him. The only issue I have is that the water smells and taste funny. So we have been drinking bottled water during our visit. I know it's not their fault. It's all over the city like this and we just aren't used to it due to being from out of town. read more

My niece and I stayed here a few months back in September 2016. We arrived at the hotel extremely late after 12 midnight and after a day of flying from San Diego to Chicago then driving here to Fort Wayne Indiana and I was pleasantly surprised at how quick the check in process went and we were able to get into our room. The room was absolutely beautiful two separate bedrooms with attached bathrooms A center living area or common area and a great kitchen. The furnishings artwork and overall decour was very nice nothing at all what I expected. Over the next few days we spent our time going back-and-forth from the hotel to our planned activities and then back to the hotel to rest up watch TV sleep and socialize. Each and every time we were met with pleasant greetings from the front desk staff and each person that we came in contact with had great customer service skills making us feel welcomed every time. All the employees in the hotel were well trained in how to give great customer service never once did we not receive a hello, good morning and good evening each time we walked the halls to and from our room. I am planning another trip in April back to Fort Wayne Indiana and this establishment will be my place of choice or my second home. read more

I am torn about how to rate this hotel. The staff here is absolutely amazing. You would be hard pressed to find better service anywhere, including the best hotels in a major city. However, the hotel itself is greatly in need of updating. The carpet was stained (we had our dogs, so they may have given us that room on purpose), the appliances old, and worst of all, the bathtub was so old and worn, I was afraid I was going to slip while taking a shower. We stay at Marriott all the time...we are gold members, but this is one of the worst I have stayed at. Again, the staff was amazing and would do anything to help you. If I stayed here again, it would be because the staff was so good. read more

I am a regular traveler that travels for basketball tournaments with my teenage son and 3 year old daughter and I have to say this place was amazing. I do all my bidding on price line and take nothing less than a 3 star. I think that after all of the renovations this hotel has done it should be bumped up to a 3.5 star! My king bed suite was so clean and cozy! I loved the fireplace and the sofa couch that pulled out into a bed it was actually very comfortableThe kitchen had new stainless steel appliances and granite countertop and I took advantage of them by stocking the refridgerator and cooking cookies for my kids in the oven. The cabinets were stocked with dishes and everything was thought of to utensils, baking pan, oven mits the list goes on and on. So many little details made this hotel one of my favorites and I have stayed at the best. It felt like home it even had a patio with a grill and basketball court! I am in love with this hotel and evertime I come to Ft Wayne Indiana I will pay to stay here again at full price. I forgot to mention the complimentary breakfast of sausage, eggs, french toast, red skin potatoes with peppers and onions, Belgian waffles and great coffee . The room was dingy, outdated, a bit dirty. We had one towel (for two adults) had to ask for more. The items like the chopping block were stained and dirty, the pots were dirty. Even our bed sheet had a brown smudge on it. I'm glad we brought our duvet cover as hotels never wash comforters and this one was wedged between two sheets. I imagine this is so the used comforter is "somewhat" not touching your skin. It wasn't "bad" mind you, just in obvious need of an updating. Its kindoff like a labyrinth in there too. Nothing is very obvious. The main entrance is hard to see, the elevator is tucked around in a corner and there is only one. Everything is worn and tired out and makes it obvious you are staying in a place that is frequented, which is a little gross. There was one front desk woman who is thin and tall with dark hair and very friendly but the other ones made me feel like I was pulling teeth to get minor things. They couldn't even crack a smile. Completely unwelcoming (African American woman and white woman with shortish. shoulder length highlighted hair in her forties maybe). The AA woman had told my husband they don't do GM discounts, he works for GM. It was kindoff weird because so many GM folks stay there--you would think she would know that. They do, in fact, do GM discounts for those who want to know. I would much much rather stay at another hotel, discount and all, though. read more
