Cleanliness of rooms..asked them to freshen. They changed towels, leaving some in bathtub. Emptied trash. That's it. Didn't straighten bed, vacuum, or replace coffee or cups. When I asked housekeeper for plastic bag to put in ice bucket, they were out. Didn't bother to empty ice bucket from night before. Didn't wipe down counters. Place wasn't "freshened" at all When I checked in, I asked the front desk clerk if he could help me get my bag from the back of my car. There were no other customers. I just had foot surgery and was in a boot. He said no, he was the on,y one there. I talked to the manager and he said he would handle it. I asked for a handicapped room, as reservations advised to do when I checked in. Handicapped room was3/4 of the way down the hall from the elevator. Shower nozzle was broken. Maintenance came quickly, but apparently housekeeping doesn't check. TV was horrible..very few stations available. Or at least I couldn't find them. No TV guide. Parking was $7.00 a night. Ridiculous. The upholstery on the booths in the restaurant was cracked and black with dirt. I'd never recommend this place. There was a Holiday Inn and Marriott on either side of the Hyatt. I'd go there next. The employees and manager were nice except the guy on second shift. I stayed there because my hardwood floors were being installed and I had to be out of the house. Today I'm officially done. Can't see returning to this brand. This was an experience that had so many potential positives and yet was flawed beyond redemption. This was really bad. Cut trip short due to Hyatt Place. Drove home nonstop to avoid any additional hotel drama. Booked 2 night King 2 adult (no smoking/no pets) stay 9/26/2024 & 9/27/2024. Used World of Hyatt rewards to pay for the rooms. Arrived after Midnight am 9/27/2024 having driven from Texas. Cora was the attendant and she was pleasant and attentive. Cora was the only light in the stay. Asked for: Clean Toilet Flushes No bad odors booked us into rm 102. Failure #1 RM 102 - Musty and other bad Smells / dirty & stained mattress. Toilet broken - won't refill tank. Rust & stains on sofa. Chair broken. Looked at several king rooms on 2nd and 5th floor. Similar issues with run down state and mattress stains. One had what appeared to be a large blood or feces (dark reddish brown stain) on the end. We let Cora know so she could remove from inventory and allow maintenance to fix. exhausted and frustrated settled on a room with 2 double beds. # 219 Failure #2 room 219 - Mattresses Worn out. Rust in many places. Dirty sink. Mattresses placed with support in wrong place. injury hazard. Carpet and walls stained and very worn. Inside bathroom door dirty. Room Door knob sticky like pancake syrup. I could not sleep that night as the mattresses were completely worn out and indentation in the middle. By this time it was about 3 AM. Stayed in Room until early morning and then went to discuss with the front desk. Told Front Desk that this room had problems noted. Cora offered to find us a replacement room as some king size had become available. We inquired as to staying through Sunday. Cora checked several rooms and found a handicap room 203 that was newer and mattress in better shape than we had in other rooms. The carpet wasn't good or clean and there were stains on sofa and other places. We decided to give Hyatt place another night as the room was paid for and we had obligations to be with family that day and night. We didn't have time to move a third time. Fail #3 ROOM 203 - closet door broken. Front sink bar missing carpet. As in all the rooms, the chair for the desk was broken. At least the room did not smell bad but it still did not feel clean. I slept better on the second night at least because the mattress was better. Decided not to go to another hotel because the stay was so Epically bad that we decided just to drive home a day early. It was more important to make it home and not have to deal with another hotel, then to remain in Memphis. Additional notes, there is a daily parking charge and the parking area is not secured by gate or other visible means as some of the surrounding hotels have. The continental breakfast has similar items to other Hyatt place, but the quality is not good. The only eggs are the bulk produced in tray Steamed eggs scrambled. Or you can get hard boiled eggs which are disgusting and powdery tasting. The inside shells were very yellow and they were discoloration as if they had been reused many times. They did have the waffle maker, which I usually enjoy but, the breakfast area was not close to what we find at Other Hyatt Place locations. General impressions: this could be a nice hotel, but has been allowed to decay and get rundown. It needs a refresh of mattresses paint carpet And general facilities. The left elevator made a decisive thunk and dips when you get on it and it's a bit scary. I will not return to this Hyatt Place location again under any circumstances. Even if there is a complete and total top to bottom, refresh, which is completely past due. I understand that you have to make a profit but you have to run an establishment that is at least up to your name and branding. This was nowhere close to that level. This hotel is a nightmare. I was given a voucher by delta airlines for a missed flight to stay there. They asked to provide a 100$ deposit that would be refunded. I gave them my card. Instead they took the deposit then after leaving for the airport and while in the air they charged me $147,25 plus the deposit for supposedly smoking in the room. I don't smoke so asked for the footage they claimed they but had they refused to give me any proof of when it happened or the photos they claim proves it. Most of the staff was really nice! But honestly, I expected more from a Hyatt hotel...this location was very disappointing! Too bad I didn't read the reviews out here before making reservation! Our room was VERY humid and when you walk in to the room the smell of the humidity and probably mildew (which was not visible) was too much! I went to the store to get an air freshener hoping it would help...COULDN'T SMELL IT (even with it fully open)! The humidity issue is obviously constant because the metal decor around the lights and the table stand have rust spots! The bathroom was small, you couldn't open/close the door without it hitting your legs. And the faucet is too short for the sink...whenever we washed our hands or face, of course water spilled onto the counter. The coffee is disgusting! I thought it was the way I prepped (creamer and sweetener)...no it's just bad! I decided to make the coffee in the room...that was just as bad! One morning I went down for breakfast...the eggs are fake (they even looked like congealed mince meat - just yellow to look like eggs), the sausage and bacon didn't have much flavor...and the overall options to select from were disappointing! Our window looked out to the entry side. When you look down you see the white overhang...it was so loaded with tree debris and had weeds growing . The first time it stormed we lost electricity for a little over 24 hours (this was not the hotels fault at all)...but the next day I saw that the overhang was loaded with water. Then when we went downstairs it was leaking from underneath. I really hope they get that addressed because it would be very costly to them if it collapses and hurts someone! If 3 stars is average on a scale of 1-5, then this place was a two. The hotel would've been a 4, but then I encountered a woman who had a look of resting IDGAF face - and an attitude to go with it. I had ordered some food that I waited about 20 minutes on, of which the fries were cold and soggy. No freshness whatsoever. I tried to tell her of the issue, but she kept countering that no one else complained about the fries, as if she took offense. Note: if you're going to work on retail/customer service, you can't get offended so easily if a customer doesn't like your product. Apparently, she took it WAY TOO PERSONALLY. If it were not for the good service I had earlier in the day, I'd rate this hotel a 1-star, because you're only as good as your weakest link. Over the last couple years I've stayed exclusive at Hyatt's if possible. This one was disappointing compared to most. Check-in was easy but one of our two rooms was dirty. It had stains on the sheets, a black powder substance on the toilet seat and hair in the sink. They moved me to another room and even it had some mold in the shower so I wasn't convinced that it was truly clean. The hotel was quiet and breakfast was decent. Checkout was easy. I will also say the location, near a hospital, seemed a little sketchy, even though there was the hospital and some fancy restaurants. I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend on a recent stay in Memphis. We had a nice room but the bathroom was really small. The TV is attached to a panel that allows you to plug in your laptop or anything that uses HDMI. I wish I had known that ahead of time. I didn't bring a cord. Plugging in my laptop would have allowed me to watch Netflix. The hotel should have cords in the room. The staff was very friendly. Due to covid-19 breakfast is not up to the usual Hyatt standards. U get a bag with orange juice, a breakfast bar, yogurt or cereal, and fruit. There is also no daily maid service. One day of maid service would have been nice. There is an outdoor pool but I didn't take a swim , as I prefer indoor pools at a hotel. There is nothing wrong with this hotel but I have been to nicer Hyatts. read more

Stayed here with my boyfriend when we were on vacation in Memphis and I liked this hotel. It had all the amenities that we needed to have a pleasant stay and to sleep comfortably for the few days we were there. I stayed here the night before Thanksgiving 2024. The TV was inoperable as it was for another guest as she chimed when I advised lady at the front desk. She tried to repair it, but was unable. There was no maintenance staff available. I sat in the room for 5 hours with no TV prior to leaving the hotel. This Hyatt Place is in east Memphis, about 20 mins from downtown, and in a decent area. Shopping, fast food chains, casual dining to posh restaurants, hospitals, and access to different freeways are close in proximity. Some of the amenities here are free parking, on-site fitness center, outdoor pool, and free hot breakfast every day. The parking wraps around the hotel, so there's plenty to go around, even some tour buses parked here. The fitness center is a bit small, but has a couple of treadmills and free weights. The outdoor pool wasn't available when I was here because it was a bit cold. During the weekdays, breakfast is available from 6:30 AM - 9:30 AM, then on the weekends and holidays, they're available from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM. The hot breakfast includes eggs, some sort of protein, and a hash. They also have oatmeal, cereal, breads, and fruits available. I had an extended stay here and noticed there were a lot families that are here, lots of kids. Hyatt Place rooms have a nice set-up with a living section with a couch, includes a sink/fridge/counter section, and a desk, and then the beds divided by a small niche, and lastly, the toilet & shower behind a closed door, while the sink and vanity counter is available outside, which is great for groups when getting ready. During my stay here, I was next to the ice maker machine, which is only on specific floors, and I can hear people every time they were there, boo! The couch in my room had a few stains on it, yuck! And then ironing board was sticky, so I was not able iron my clothes, ugh! The bathroom actually had a smell to it, so I had the fan on for most of my stay. read more

Out of all the Hyatt hotels I've stayed in this is by far the least kept location. The only positive is the staff is friendly. The last 2 times I stayed in within a 2 month timeframe both times the 2nd elevator was out of service, the elevator needs a refresh the carpet smells, it's old, ripped, and stained. The first room we were given looked ok, but when I was going to take a shower the strainer was full of hair , not mine it was gross. I went to the front desk and they gave me a different room. The 2nd room had fruit loops in various locations, and the sofa could use a deep cleaning. Breakfast was ok but they left the milk out on the shelf instead of putting it in the refrigerator. My family chose to stay at a Hyatt because we read that they were the cleanest hotel chain during the pandemic. When we got to our room, I took a Clorox wipe to the surfaces and door handles and it came away dirty and the floors looked dingy. That evening when I left to get food, I noticed an employee not wearing a mask. When I got back she had it on, but it wasn't covering her nose. The next morning when I went through the lobby to get my husband who was locked out (his key card wouldn't open the door) another employee wasn't wearing his mask. I'd stayed at the Hyatt in Germantown when I was last in Memphis, and so decided to check out the midtown location when I had to return back to Memphis for work meetings. I found this location to be much better than the Germantown one because it was surrounded by so many great dinner options plus I found the drive to work to Collierville in the mornings to be easy and under 15 mins as it was against the traffic flow. All the staff I came into contact with very helpful and courteous. A highlight of my stay was the fact that the room I was allocated had a hand - held shower! This is a standard amenity in European hotels and to my dismay, they aren't that many American hotels that offer this convenience, so happy to know this hotel has that, even if it's only offered if you book the handicapped room. Food wise, the complimentary Breakfast was a hit/ miss. It changed every day - I enjoyed the potato skillet, but was disappointed there was no sausage options for the biscuit n gravy. The sausage was not that great but the bacon was decent. I wish they had more seasonal cut fruit options like blackberries and strawberries that are available in the shops right now. I also almost never saw bananas, so they can definitely improve there. I can put up with a lot. But nasty or lack of housekeeping is downright disgusting. Dust everywhere. Hairs on the sheets, empty shampoo dispenser, stains on carpet, lighting is bad, elevators shake, they offer free coffee that tastes like mud, the security guard on the premises in good for nothing, for whatever strange reason none of the front desk employees wear name badges. One had a hoody on over her head. I had no idea she was an employee, she looked like she was going to a concert. The guest washer and dryer are from the year one. They take quarters, but the front desk is cashless, therefore unless you have $6.00 in quarters, don't bother to even think about using the machines. When asked to speak to a manager, the answer was that no manager is available until the end of the week. I have to wonder if Hyatt corporate knows that this hotel is open without a mgr.? They put a hold on your credit card for incidentals. The hold is for $50.00, not for the entire stay but $50.00 per night I was there for 7 nights and am still waiting for the $350.00 to be restored to my card and it's been 2 weeks. I will give it a few more days then call my credit card company and refuse the charge. The weird thing is that there is nothing to spend money on. There is no mini bar, no fitness room, no tours, the bar is open strange hours, etc.... If this were the last hotel available in Memphis, you might want to think about sleeping in your car instead! Maybe they haven't gotten to the 6th floor yet because aside from the 6 year old plasma in the room, this place is falling apart. I visited Memphis for a business conference that took place in this hotel. The hotel also had a special deal for the people who's attending the conference with the rate $90/night. I stayed here for 4 days / 3 nights. At first I got lost on finding the location of this hotel because I didn't believe such a nice hotel would be on some small road behind a giant strip mall. I called the hotel and they gladly assist me on finding their location. There's alot of parking space up in the front and I walk in and the same person whom I spoke on the phone with was there at the front desk greeting me. I asked to be checked in and gave them my ID and the print out confirmation. I was checked in really quick and ask if I have their membership. I said no and they went over the membership application and the benefits of being a Hyatt Gold Passport member. I took the application and they wrote down my room number in the card key slip. They also went over the layout on where to access the pool, the fitness room, the Internet area which is free, showing me the breakfast area and room service area. I took my stuff to the 2nd floor and went into my room. I did not expect a double to be that spacious. There's a whole giant living room with a dining table, working sink, coffee maker, a small mini fridge, L shape couch, and room for me to do exercise from the free TV channel teaching you yogas and stuff. The air condition was working very good because it was really, really cold in the room. The service is very good as the front desk person remembers my last name, maybe it's because I am one of the people registered for the conference and they know everyone that's in the conference. I had a good swim at the pool, it's a typical family friendly outdoor pool. There were some dead bugs in it but it wasn't too bad. The fitness area had a good amount of jogging machine and biking machine, some light weights, and a TV for you to view. The free breakfast in the morning is wonderful. It had some good hot food with good selection of cold food. Although there wasn't stuff like scramble eggs or bacons, but the grits with gravy was very filling. They brew Seattle's Best Coffee and had 3 different types (2 regular and 1 decaf), there's always someone to monitor and make sure to refill anything tha'ts out as there's alot of people eating the free breakfast every morning. The room service was very convinent as you could just order the food you want to get from a POS kiosk. You simply slide your room key to charge anything you order to your room and you could sit at the free Internet area and they will bring the food to you or bring it up to you. The Internet center is good as they use those remote login software wihch the computer would restart every 20 minutes so it would clear out any cookies that may have saved while you browse the Internet. One thing that I didn't like was that the hotel was very far from Memphis downtown, but it is right next to the one of the Galleria mall and it's surrounded by stores such as Target, Barnes and Noble, lots of different restaurants to choose from, etc. Over all I had a great pleasant experience with this hotel and particulary Hyatt chain. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who's visiting Memphis to stay here, even if it's very far from the Memphis downtown, it's still a good place to stay as sometimes downtown is more expensive and pretty scary at night. read more

Someday, when the machines take over the world, they will stay at the Hyatt Place Memphis Primacy Pkwy when they visit the grave-site of Robo-Elvis. Like so many others, I made my reservations here online. I didn't need to actually talk to anyone made of flesh, when I had nice friendly pixels explaining prices, features, amenities, and everything else I needed to know. Upon entering the front lobby of this ultra-modern hotel, you are presented with a choice: check-in with a "human", or use the automated kiosk. That's right, you don't need to deal with a line, just input your information and it spits out your room's key card. The room has the nicest integration of a computer to TV setup I've ever seen. Component video, HDMI, VGA and stereo RCA cable hookups with an input selector right next to the TV. Handy if you travel with your X-Box and the video game "Robots". Searching for my favorite ethanol, I stopped by the hotel bar for a drink. Again, a automated kiosk allows you to place your drink order. The same person that handles check-in can also take drink orders, tend bar, and serve food in the restaurant. I'm pretty sure she wasn't human, but a series T-1001 series robot. Either way, service did not seem to suffer. Despite the nice tech advances, the overall effect did not wow me. The shower was sub-par, but I guess that in a hotel built for machines, the bathroom would be an afterthought. The bed was pretty average, but not bad if you are planning on going into sleep mode for a limited period of time. What is nice, is that this hotel gives a glimpse of the hotel of the future. The staff at this hotel is amazing, especially Khaliq and Amanda. We were greeted every time we went in the lobby with hellos and smiles from every one. Khaliq and Amanda went above and beyond with asking what we had planned for the day and also asked if we had a good day in the evening when we returned. The breakfast isn't that great because of COVID precautions so pre-packaged yogurts, breakfast sandwiches, juice and fruit were the norm. (I recommend the Blue Plate Cafe nearby if you want a great tasting breakfast without breaking the bank) There was security in the parking lot every night so one can tell that hotel safety is of utmost importance so we felt safe, though the hotel is across the street from a hospital and in a good area. After a long road trip we were ready to just relax and lay down in bed. The first room we walked into had a musty and B.O. smell so we asked for another room. The next room we received had the same smell, mold on the shower curtain, makeup on the pillow, finger prints all over the mirror, and hair in the tub. We called down to the manager and she came up. She was appalled at the state of the room and took several photos. She apologized and said she would get us another room that she would personally look over. After waiting 15 minutes or so we were brought to a nicer room that was clean. Despite the cleanliness and the managers accommodation it was not worth all the stress and hassle. I'm a world of Hyatt member and have been to several Hyatt's- this place was not up to their standards. I was extremely disappointed. Where to start. The first elevator was out of service our whole stay and the second (only other functional) elevator went out twice causing me to walk 4 flights of stairs each trip. Elevator floor was filthy when functional. Paint was peeling on the bathroom door and looks awful in addition to making the bathroom feel dirty. Shower was pull curtain instead of glass doors seen in pics. Interior parts of fridge missing on both door shelves and the temperature knob had been pulled off making it impossible to cool the fridge. Handles on building exit doors were ripped off. In our room, exposed box springs looked awful. I have stayed at many Hyatts across the country and this experience is very abnormal for the chain. This facility is overpriced for the condition of the hotel and inconsistent with the Hyatt brand. Website photos appear stock and were very misleading. I considered asking for partial refund but decided I'll just stay at the nearby Hilton going forward. read more

Adequate, but not at all standard Hyatt experience. I want to give grace to the hospitality industry, but I was disappointed with my experience at the hotel. I chose this price point anticipating moderate level experience, but standard brand quality. The hotel hall displayed scratches to the paint, the elevator was dirty. Every time we entered and exited the hotel, the front desk staff was either sitting at a nearby table playing with their cell phone or slouched over the front desk playing with their cell phone. They did greet us on most occasions. Ice machines are only on 2 of the 5 floors, microwaves may or may not be in your room. While the room is set up like a suite, there is only one television that does not fully span the entire seating and bedding areas. The beds are full size, with very little walking room near the beds. The three bed pillows where half the size of standard pillows. The water pressure was poor, the sink was a light stream and the toilet did not fill properly and therefore didn't flush immediately. The TV also has a security feature that only allows chromecast or phone casting. There is a label threatening $75 fee if you attempt to connect your own streaming device. I will excuse the food options due to COVID. We also had 2 barking dogs the entire weekend. This morning, only 1 elevator worked while everyone was attempting to check out. I felt unsafe with the amount of people squeezing on the elevator because of the wait time. Unless the price was significantly reduced. I would never consider this hotel again. Frankly, it makes me question ever considering the Hyatt brand. read more

Staff was Amazing. Rooms were very Cleaned and a Great size. Hotel had a nice selection of Food on the Breakfast bar. We will stay here again when we go back to Memphis, TN. read more

Our flight was delayed. We called the hotel directly, several times to tell them our flight had been delayed. We spoke with employee Shauna, she told us she understood and our rooms would be available when we arrived. Shauna must have went off duty because the two employees at the front desk on July 23, 2023 @ 5:00pm. The minute we went through the doorway the older employee had already decided she wasn't going to help us. She pretended to look in the computer for our reservation and then told us it had been cancelled and said that they had no rooms available. She turned her back to us and started whispering to the other employee. We pulled out our phones to look for another hotel and the younger employee told us there were two hotels nearby. So we walked to one and we're able to get rooms. We called the third party we had booked through and was told our reservation was still active. We were traveling with our mom to Graceland. Everyone in Memphis was so nice, except this person. Please choose somewhere else to stay. The Courtyard Marriott has great staff. We were treated with respect and courtesy there. read more

Pretty much standard Hyatt hotel. Decent breakfast but not enough seating. Received early check in which was helpful. Lighting in bathroom was insufficient, but it is that way at all Hyatt Place hotels. Limited parking areas. Shower was excellent! Over all, a decent stay. read more

We needed to find a nice hotel half way to San Antonio and the best place seemed to be Memphis. This hotel was great. The hotel is in a very nice location in the city. The room we booked was a great value and very big. It was two queen size beds and huge suite area that my kids loved that they had an area to play cars in. The hotel had usb hookups to charge your devices which is really nice and not seen in any other hotels I have been in. The breakfast area had everything I needed to make the Elvis special. read more

Popped in with no reservation after trying the same thing at another local Hyatt Place. That one was in the middle of an office park and was full. They sent us to this one, which looks like it was built yesterday. (Google maps don't show the driveway yet, and keep wanting you to go to the end of the block and make a U-turn because they don't know there's a cut in the divider.) It's in the middle of nowhere, but there will probably be an office park there soon. Good amenities; if this was a downtown hi-rise, rooms would probably be well over $200. (We got one for $89 a night.) Bed was nice, big TV right at the foot was nice (first REAL HD I've ever seen on a hotel TV). The "jack rack" is very cool; you can plug ANYTHING in to the TV if you brought the right cable (VGA, HDMI, composite video, component video, mini-plug audio). The Wi-Fi showed 15mbs download speed and 5mbs upload, way better than my cable internet at home. There's an ethernet jack too, if you have a cable and don't want to use Wi-Fi. Room was big, everything was new and spotless, very nice shower. One-cup coffee maker, but it's a big cup and makes very good coffee. The hot free breakfast is not spectacular, but it's pretty good stuff. Staff were very nice and helpful. This is my first stay at a Hyatt Place, but I'll keep an eye out for them in future travels. For the price of a typical motel, you get a pretty good imitation of a classy four-star hotel. They've obviously studied the process and done their homework on these. It's a smooth-running place. Oh, the location of this one is way out there. A good half hour away from downtown and Beale street. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area, though. read more

Nice clean place super friendly people. Great breakfast and a great variety. Checking in was easy and fast. Jessica checked us in she was very friendly. My daughter was disappointed that the pool was not opened but the weather has its ups and downs here. 80 one day and 50 the next. They cleaned the pool the day we were leaving. but over all we were glad to get this place and not downtown. It's a nicer area. read more

On a recent road trip from Houston, TX to Columbus, Ohio we stayed at this Hyatt, twice. On the way up we had a decent experience, on the way back... not so much. The Good: Spacious rooms, huge tvs with decent channel selection, free wifi, near loads of restaurants and shopping, in what appears to be a decent neighborhood and cheap. They try a little too hard to be 'hip' and the service is just ok. The Bad: The included breakfast is TERRIBLE. Everything tasted like freezer burn. Completely inedible both times we stayed. Security is a major problem. The second time we stayed here on the return leg of our trip, our truck got broken into. Obviously I know this happens in lots of places but this one is special. The hotel did nothing aside form a very nice maintenance man who helped us tape up our window for the 10 hour return trip home. They wouldn't even call the police for us. When the police came this is what we were told... "Thieves in Memphis target vehicles from Texas because they think everyone in Texas has a gun in their car." His partner was down the street at another hotel filling out a report for someone else who's car was broken into that same night. And the police officer told us that the city removed patrol from that neighborhood because they're wasn't enough crime. So basically if you stay in this area, there will be no cops anywhere to help prevent this sort of thing from happening. We drove because we couldn't afford the plane tickets. A few tanks of gas, an oil change and two nights at a hotel cost less than airfare for 3 and a rental car. After the break in and the $450 deductible, we ended up spending more :( read more
