This hotel is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Charleston. There is free parking in a covered parking garage, but you'll need to take two elevators to check in. If you're able to drop your items in the front and then bring your car around back, it might be easier if you're totting around a lot of things. Our room was very spacious, but the bathroom was very outdated. It took a bit for the bathroom light to get bright, so it gave a bit of a dingy vibe. The room itself was quiet. We only heard noise one morning, there were guests staying for a youth baseball tournament and they got a bit loud. Other than that, I had restful nights. The buffer breakfast was pretty good! Several options for those with and without dietary restrictions, teas, and coffee. The location is also cool to walk around and explore fb shops and restaurants. So if you don't want to make the drive to downtown Charleston, there tons to do! It's also close to Shem Creek, which we enjoyed. This hotel isn't terrible, but it could use a few upgrades. For what it is, and the location, AND the yummy breakfast, this was a good choice. read more

I had a great stay. It was very quiet and soundproof. The gym is hard to find as it is on the third floor in the middle, with no signage for it. The location is fantastic for food and shopping and parking is free in the garage below/behind the hotel. The check in was a young guy in a hoodie with a MacBook , and I had to ask if he worked there because it was not obvious or "up scale" looking at all. The breakfast looked like it would've had a nice selection if I would t gotten there earlier. I arrived 45 min before they closed, but I suggest you go earlier if you want all the options. read more

Visited for the walk through on our new home. Great location! Loved all the shops and nearby places to eat. The staff was great except for one young lady that was clearly not happy to be there and it showed. We had a handicap room since I had been having knee issues and it was HUGE! No complaints there. Air conditioning worked great, room was spotless. Hallways and common areas were clean as well. There was no safe which was surprising. The only ding I have on this hotel was the breakfast. We got there as soon as it opened and it was still inedible. Hard and tasteless everything. I didn't really mind as the area has great restaurants so we just skipped and didn't let it ruin our day! read more

Location carries this place in a good way. Hyatt Place Mt. Pleasant Town Center is ideal if you want walkable food, shopping, and want to avoid the ridiculously high historic district hotel parking fees. The rooms are spacious enough especially with the sofa bed option to spread out the family. Teens loved the location - TCBY and Jeni's ice cream were basically nightly rituals. There's even a movie theater steps away. Big bonus: it's pet-friendly, so we could walk our pup while window shopping. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and quick drives to Shem Creek (12 min), Boone Plantation (12 min), and downtown Charleston (17 min). Breakfast was fine but repetitive; luckily First Watch is steps away if you prefer to pay for something beyond the standard continental breakfast. There's also a bar in the lobby if you want a drink or coffee outside of breakfast hours. Otherwise, Target and Trader Joes are both nearby if you need anything. Parking was easy in the attached garage, but just note you have to enter the hotel from the first floor to access the hotel elevators which is a bit odd if you park on the second floor of the garage. One of the two hotel elevators was out of service for part of our stay, but waits were never too bad since the hotel is only six floors. Overall, super convenient, stress-free stay and we'd absolutely opt for Hyatt Place Mt Pleasant again. read more

This is one of those experiences where everything evened out to a solid "okay". I could see someone staying here if you had family in Charleston but wanted to avoid the crowds or if you were on a work trip and not much of a foodie. Otherwise you may be disappointed. This hotel is located within a small shopping center where majority of the stores close around 6 PM. There are a few restaurants within easy walking distance but very few that are as good as you'll find in Charleston itself. Parking is a breeze with the adjoining parking garage so that never was an issue. The hotel felt newer. It was very clean and modern. When the bar was open I found it rather pleasant. The employee there was very personable and very hard working. Sadly, I only saw her once as the bar was closed all the remaining nights I was there because their point of sales system went down. Ok, gotta admit that irritated me a bit. Obviously the lady working that section was sent home needlessly because they theoretically could have simply taken room charges since that apparently worked - I could buy chips. I found it odd that they had no mitigation plans for this type of situation. I questioned if I was being given accurate info since it wasn't open the next night either and their system worked for snacks. What made me truly question the situation was the overall blasé attitude of all the other employees. Maybe staying so frequently in downtown Charleston has spoiled me on hospitality. All I know was the gentleman who frequently was at the front desk was there to collect a paycheck and nothing else. One time I came downstairs and he was face timing someone on his phone. Twice the front desk was vacant for more than thirty minutes. The room was nice and it was quiet. It was a bit odd because the fitness center was immediately across the hall from my room with big wide windows. While it didn't bother me, I felt bad for people working out there because my door opening startled people each time. My door also would not close without being pulled or pushed depending on if I was going or coming. It would simply stay open as though the door sweep was a bit too long. That was more of an inconvenience as was the water taking five minutes to warm up. Overall it was an okay experience. read more

This place is really nice. The hotel itself is beautiful. Very modern. Our room (handicapped accessible) had the best setup. King size bed, couch bed, and windows floor to ceiling on every wall. There are so many nice shops around you, hair salons, old navy, Victoria Secrets, TCBY, gas station, the hotel itself has a bar and restaurant; all of this in walking distance. You see it all out of the large windows. Reminds me of a little New York. Would def recommend. read more

While the location is excellent, and the breakfast buffet was super nice, the hotel staff started talking loudly in the hallway at 7:30 a.m. Not sure if the walls are thin, or just a noisy family was in the next room, but between the family loudly talking until midnight and the early voices of the hotel staff, sleep was a bit challenging. read more

I have never encountered a ruder staff at a hotel than I did this past weekend at this hotel. If I had one recommendation, it would be to give staff AND management some basic training on customer service. While the location is convenient to a lot, dealing with the staff at this hotel makes it not worth it. There was not one thing that was made easy for the check in/check out process for a block of rooms we paid for in advance for our wedding party. By the end, they were trying to charge our guests for a third time after having multiple conversations with management and staff and showing them receipts and confirmation numbers that the room had been paid for. If you are looking for a stress free place for a wedding weekend, this is NOT the place to stay. It's also very difficult to get your room cleaned or get fresh towels. You have to request maid service and after requesting 3-4 times we were finally able to have our room cleaned once in the 4 day stay. read more

Very nice hotel, our room was spacious. We had a small kitchen area with a large tall table/counter that was great for working. The kitchen had a refrigerator, microwave, small cooktop, dishes, glasses, cutlery, and serving pieces. There was a sofa area as well. The hotel is also dog friendly, many dogs of all different sizes. One morning they were making custom omelettes which I've never seen at a free hotel breakfast. They weren't cleaning rooms but we were able to get fresh towels every day. I think they would have cleaned if you requested. read more

Not like Hyatt used to be at all! My husband and I were in town for the night!. We were confused first off with where it was located because it is in the town center mall area with basically no directions on getting to the parking garage. Once we got there getting back in the hotel was another obstacle. When getting checked in, the guy at the counter acted like he couldn't be bothered. No password for WiFi no instead on getting to our room just not what I expect in this type of hotel! We did get to our room which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and everything seemed to be clean. In the morning they offered a free complimentary breakfast. I have not seen such a more pathetic spread and the coffee was awful. I stayed here recently while in town for a family gathering and was not too impressed. It looks nice and is well maintained but a few things will keep us from returning. Upon arrival there was no one at guest services for close to ten minutes and there was another guest ahead of us who said he had already been there for about 10 minutes. There was a sign saying the staff member would return shortly but for the gentlemen ahead of us to wait 20 minutes to get checked in seemed like a bit much. There was also a sign that said at this time housekeeping was unavailable and that sign remained for the 4 days we stayed there. This did not really effect us though and we definitely understand being understaffed is an issue in a lot of places right now. Our room was pretty close to the elevator and I didn't think it would be too much of an issue but we were able to hear just about every person who walked passed - like full on hear their entire conversation so I think they need some sound proofing or something to help. I was awoken most nights we stayed by either people in the hall or those above and to the side of us. All around it seemed the walls were thin. The hotel bar was also closed for our entire stay which was a bit disappointing. In terms of the room, it was fine - we had a room with a decent sized couch, a small mini fridge and desk. There was closet with ironing board and iron and the bathroom was fine, a little small but it was okay. The bed was on the firm side but overall comfortable. Family also staying here were told on arrival that there room was not ready yet and they'd have to wait for it to be cleaned so I think it's just important to note you may be waiting at check in, in case you are in a rush to get to an event or activity. read more

One bad review and this place is being dragged down to three stars, it's ridiculous and I hope my review serves as a counter to that one. This is an excellent hotel for the price that you pay. The furnishings are modern and stylish, the decor is tasteful and compliments the southern feel of the area without being old fashion or dated-looking. It's easy to get to and even though you don't walk into the area where the front desk is, it doesn't take away from the positive experience here. The staff are professional, courteous and very helpful. Breakfast is free for Hyatt Members (membership is also FREE) and it's well worth it with a nice spread to satisfy and get you through to lunch. The bar is stocked pretty nicely in the evenings and is a good place to get a cocktail. The rooms themselves are adorned well, again, more than what you'd expect given the low price point. Shower pressure was fantastic on the 5th floor and I had views overlooking the movie theatre. Which btw this Hotel is in a shopping center making it easy for those that want to run out and grab a quick bite or do some retail therapy. The only negative I can think of is the parking. You're in a garage that's semi-attached and behind the hotel, there's parking on all of the floors but the second floor especially is rather dark at night and has about 12 spots reserved for the hotel. Also, there's an enormous speed bump coming into the garage that you absolutely cannot avoid, if you have a lowered or sports car then be aware this is a suspension killer. read more

I really like the Hyatt Place Mount Pleasant Towne Centre in Mt. Pleasant. This is a great new hotel that is in the middle of Town Centre and is a fun place to stay that is convenient to shopping, restaurant, and a short drive to the beach. I like that there is a parking garage attache to the hotel so it is always easy to find parking. The hotel is new and everything still is fresh and clean. I like the indoor swimming pool to as it is fun to use. The staff here is extremely helpful and will go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need during your visit and are very accommodating. Overall I had a really good experience here and will come back soon. read more

the staff at the front desk was extremely rude, hateful and unprofessional. Maria is the employee that I had to deal with. the Hyatt place made multiple mistakes- said they were going to correct it and never did. when it was time to check out the issue was not resolved and Maria did not care. she actually screamed at myself and a friend it was not her problem and that she did not care she refused to call the manager on duty to assist with the issues. I understand Maria was not the one to cause the issues but she could have assisted in the solution or attempted to be helpful. read more

We had a terrible experience AFTER checking out of this place. We were hurricane Dorian refugees and were told that the hotel would accept us and our 2 dogs while waiving the dog fee because of the storm. The hotel was nice enough, but lost power midway through the first night we were there. Power was restored at our home the next day and we left since we had to climb 5 flights of stairs at the hotel every time we took the dogs out. The manager apologized and said we would only be charged for 1 night--$160 with tax. When the credit card bill came the charge was for nearly $700. When we challenged the charge we were told we should have been charged for 2 night--even though there was no power. We reminded them the rate was$160 per night. They responded that they raised the rate the second night. We will not be back and will not stay at any Hyatt property going forward. If you stay here be sure to get everything in writing up front. read more

This Hyatt is one of the best I've been to. We frequently rent the conference room and have guests who stay here who always say how much they enjoy the accommodations. In addition to how nice and clean it is, John in the kitchen and Briana at the front desk are the cherry on top. Their customer service, cheerful personalities, and caring approach will make you feel like you are staying with family. Make sure you say hi to them, it would make their day. Although stating on the website that "The safety and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues is always a top priority" and "Face coverings - Required in hotel indoor public areas and when moving around in outdoor areas" Hyatt is not implementing these safety precautions. My family and I stayed three nights and passed through the lobby to get to our room. On multiple occasions during our stay, the lobby was filled with unsupervised kids that looked to be 10 to 12 years in age without masks running around the lobby and up and down the hallways. All in full view of Hyatt staff. If your not going to insure the safety of ALL your guest please take your statements regarding safety off your website. It's misleading. read more

Do not recommend this place. We asked about late check out the night before our last day and the front desk person confirmed we can check out at 4pm. On the morning of our check out day at 9:45am someone starts banging on the door and without any time to respond they try to barge into the room and luckily we had a stroller in front of the door that was preventing them from completely coming into the room. They continued to push the door and try to barge in as I'm in the shower and I can see this from the shower and I'm rushing out. I immediately get out of the shower and open the door and look out to see nobody there and no cleaning cart, nothing. I call the front desk to let them know what happened and the guy tells me they have us checking out that day so they have housemen who go around checking if rooms are vacant. Regular check out time is 12pm at this hotel. This is at 9:45am and we also requested a late check out and were told 4pm. Also, why would someone just be barging in to the room to see if it's vacant when there is noise coming from the room and clearly not vacant and they continually try to open the door even thought something is blocking the door way. When checking out and speaking to the front desk manager who seemed to already have been told about the situation she responded in a racist manner saying "it was probably just a Mexican person yelling el cleano". Wow. This is beyond unacceptable and a complete violation of guests privacy and then to get a response like that was just unbelievable. Don't stay here. read more
