This is one of our favorite Hyatt's and we have been to so many. What I love about this hotel is that it has everything you need or want. Make a reservation or call them and book a room. Their prices are good and you won't feel ripped off. You will be happy. The rooms are a nice size and kept up. The maid service is great. The staff is super and can guide you if this is your first time to Tijuana. I love the place to eat here. It is just the best. They have traditional Mexican food which is outstanding and they also have great American food. We love their pancakes and eggs. Their tacos are great as is any fish dish. They have bottled water in the room, which is a must. Do not drink tap water anywhere in Tijuana. The location is great. It is within easy walking to many fun spots, including shopping. The rooms are super clean and although it can get loud outside, the inside is quiet and comfortable. It even smells great. You will love it. Have fun. read more

I've been coming here for many years. I'm a Hyatt member and rotate between paying and using my points - mostly using my points and enjoying the occasional comped weekend getaway. Prices have doubled since coming here first. Points went from 5k to 8k- please don't up it any more :). Guest profile has changed and with it more English speaking staff. US workers in scrubs moonlighting on the weekend, patients over from US for medical procedures, catering to this new clientele has made this hotel busier and a little more pricey than before. I wonder how they will compete when the Westin opens right next door? Location is truly perfect, it's an easy drive from the U.S. made easier now with the hotel and gastronomy zone signs as you cross the San Ysidro border. The hotel offers covered, gated underground parking for your car. It feels secure and I've never had any issues or incidents (touch wood) ever. Breakfast is included with your stay and has improved over the years, not that it was ever bad, they just offer a much larger and quality selection than before and restock often, again being more busy I imagine helps with that. Staff are always great , very helpful, and bilingual. If the bar ever looks unattended it's because they often double at reception. Just look to the front desk for assistance. For a Hyatt place - it's one of the best - that's why we keep coming back, better than the San Diego counterparts. Adrian, at the breakfast station is our favorite staff member. He's always so helpful, attentive and he deserves a shout out. I would love if they made Pozole on Saturday mornings - but alas it's a Sunday morning treat. Having it on Saturday too would be the icing on the cake. Something to work on: I enjoy a late checkout and appreciate not being disturbed. Do not disturb sign on the door doesn't mean they won't knock, or try to come in. Housekeeping should observe this request, even if they are being nice and checking to see if you need more towels. If you like clean, they are obsessively clean - occasionally the chemicals bother me in the lobby but I appreciate their attention to cleanliness. Overall solid 4 star rating. read more

Worst Hyatt ever! Short staffed, they lack items for guest at the bar, during breakfast and amenities. Waited 20 mins for coffee and another 20 mins for serving plates during breakfast. Elevator broken had to walk to the 4th floor along with and elderly couple that were guest. Was awaken by loud construction work at 1am. Literally shook me from my sleep. AC is super loud and annoying. Parking is very limited. Overall I rate this a zero out of ten. read more

Thee best Hyatt Place I have stayed at. Their service and breakfast selection is exceptional. The regional food they offer is like no other Hyatt Place Hotel I have been too. Highly, highly recommended if you are ever staying in Tijuana. The only drawback is no pool. They have underground parking, security and free buffet breakfast. Their customer service is great. Chef Adrian is very attentive and on weekends offers a special dish from the pot in the kitchen that is a real treat for most people. read more

Stayed here three nights and got excellent service. All the employees from the security/doormen to the front desk clerks were polite and respectful. The hotel is attractive and very clean with hardworking housekeepers who thoroughly clean the room each day and replaced the bottled waters as well. Exceptional staff, all the staff go out of their way to assist their guests. Always smiling and friendly and everyone I ran into spoke English very well. Very safe and security conscious property. If you are a daredevil and decide to drive on the streets of Tijuana they have a secure underground garage that you use your door key card to enter and exit but they also have outside security keeping an eye on the garage as well. Very nice location close to shopping and dinning but I would recommend Ubers even if you do drive into the hotel as Tijuana traffic can be very frenetic and doesn't always necessarily follow the usual rules of the road. Beautiful property from the outside and in the common rooms such as the lobby and dining room. But I would bet this was a property that Hyatt bought and refurbished from the state of the furniture in the room. See attached photos. Beds were very comfortable and all in all a nice place to stay. The two major cons for me are its location not being near enough to walk anywhere safely and the price. For the product it's simply overpriced compared to other hotels in Tijuana that I know of and have used. read more

I went to this hotel for business purposes and spent one night there. Room was spacious, clean and nice. Quiet. Breakfast was abundant, fresh and good. I did not like the customer service. There were 2 receptionists and we were a group of 3 and took a long time to take care of us and didn't find them very welcoming. Also, during check out I asked for my invoice and was told that it would be sent to my corporate email. That never happened and then I have to follow up with Hyatt customer service for several days to be able to do my expense report. No one was replying to emails or calls. Finally the issue got solved from the customer service in the US. read more

Great hotel! We stayed here just one night but it was enough to get a feel for the place. Staff was great and the complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've had! They had chilaquiles! The Jamaica was great too! I'm not sure how the dinner is but I'd recommend Cabanna just across the street (we walked). The gym was also a nice addition! I went around 3pm and had the place to myself. The view isn't anything crazy but it was pretty cool to see! Two walls of glass to look out. Dumbbells go up to 50lbs. Also, if you're driving a Tesla, this is the place for you! We charged all night (no other Tesla showed up). Management said they'd give us a call if there was a line, but wasn't the case. Keep in mind the chargers are for Tesla only, unless you have an adapter. read more

1. Very noisy so avoid side facing the mall across the street. The bar is open until at least 0300 and they play their music loud. 2. The ac/heating units are loud. You will be forced to turn them off to sleep so you wake to a stifling room 3. The elevator broke down nearly my entire stay and no one comes to work on it. You will be forced to wait sometimes for multiple elevators as housekeeping and hotel guests share the elevators. 4. Morning breakfast chef is friendly and provides a nice basic breakfast. Food is fresh but plates needs to be cleaner. 5. Housekeeping staff is on top of their game. Room is cleaned, beds are made. They are the reason for a star but the refrigerator had a foul smell. I turned it off and left it open to air out when I checked out. 6. Big negative to the front desk woman who I had complained to about the AC/heating unit. You never got back to me and you never got it taken care of. 7. Front door security guard is vigilant and is on duty during day into the evening. Not the level of quality I expect from a Hyatt. Growing up as a navy brat my father was stationed in San Diego for awhile, which is my sister's birth place (heart emoji). My parents were addicted to the fish tacos in Tijuana and we all had a fluffy warm blanket that they bought us for cheap. We may have been in Tijuana more than San Diego. My immigration Caribbean parents learned fluent Spanish Super quick, lol. I say this all to say Tijuana has a spot in my heart and I will be going back for other medical procedures since the price is RIGHT!!! I love Tijuana!! I loved staying at the Hyatt before and after weight loss surgery!!! I rarely stay at the Hyatt when I travel but I will return here when I'm back in Tijuana whether it's part of my packet or not. Firstly, they have great Covid measures. Employees and guests must wear masks. Temperatures are checked every time you enter. There is hand sanitizer available and encouraged. There is also a mandatory little mat that has viruscide on it for you to step on. The rooms are large, comfy, and peaceful. I had weight loss surgery so I could only have both and popsicles. The broth that they serve is so good. Water pressure is so nice. Water was nice and hot!!! I can not wait to go back! read more

Stayed one night to take the family to Puerto Nuevo for some fresh lobster and a great view of the ocean. See my other review for that! We decided to stay near the border in Tijuana because of the security and because we already know the area. The room is clean! The room offers clean towels and working tv. The room had 2 queen beds which were fine. Both beds need to be flipped or changed out as we rolled to the middle! I ordered extra towels from housekeeping and they arrived within 2 min! Yay! The parking is great! The parking is underground and private. There is security outside the front to make sure the guests are safe. They have free wifi and free breakfast! Yay! Breakfast is pretty basic but what isn't basic when it's free right? They offer powered scrambled eggs, chilaquiles, beans, some red sausages, and sliced bananas. Orange Juice, milk, coffee, and green juice and fresh individually wrapped fruit. The one star lost is the fact that they don't offer pancakes or bacon( the staple of USA) I know we are in Mexico so I would have appreciated a concha or some type of sweet bread for my morning coffee. I did ask if they could make me something else and the chef said no. I asked for a piece of toast and jelly and that - he was able to accommodate me with! Yay! Lastly I like cream with my coffee and they only had packets... it worked. Coffee wasn't strong but it was good. Overall, this was a good stay and I would come back. I met another family who was visiting from St Louis and she was staying because the location was close to the hospital she was having surgery. I felt safe and felt comfortable with the COVID situation. Employees are wearing their masks and enforcing them. Clean, friendly, welcoming, and safe hotel to stay at when visiting Tijuana! They have underground self-parking with in and out privileges. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and smelled fresh. The complimentary breakfast buffet was unbelievable! They had a large variety of foods and drinks that were delicious! In addition to oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, they also served posole, beans, eggs, and other warm foods. There are a lot of places to sit, so it was very comfortable. We also had some drinks and food at the bar. The servers were amazing and the drinks and food were delicious! I will definitely stay at this hotel again! read more

I attended Hyatt place as a companion because my family member got surgery. I was at the hotel for two nights and two days. Aside from the Internet going out and the phone system going out for a few hours I had a great experience. The heat worked well. The air worked well. For some reason. It's kind of cool in Tijuana in September, which I was surprised about. Everyone was super friendly. The breakfast that's what I have to say. The breakfast was phenomenal. I did not expect to get a Mexican breakfast at the Hyatt place and it was authentic. It was delicious. I also had a strawberry margarita at the bar. The bartender was really nice. I ordered the mozzarella sticks. Those weren't good so stick to Mexican food. Obviously we are in Tijuana. It was Mexican Independence Day I learned about that. I overslept the bar last night. I got up around 10 I needed some snacks and the front desk manager was nice enough to let me buy a glass of wine and I bought some snacks. The snack bar is open 24 hours. they have security on guard after a certain time you have to use a KeyCards because I was concerned about my safety. There's restaurants in walking distance there's a club it's called Licbar or something like that. a there's a couple of clubs in walking distance. I would definitely recommend this place for others. I also went to a really good taco spot. Please have cash before you get to mexico. It makes transactions easier. Shout out to the cook: he was friendly and extremely helpful! Although the website states the bar is open until midnight, don't count on it. Bar closes pretty much whenever the manager wants. Very disappointing. In addition to lies on there website, we didn't have any towels in our room. We called for towels and it took over 2 hours for them to bring towels. The hotel is great, clean, safe & nice. The food & service at the restaurant is not. Canned cheese sauce on my nachos with cold chicken. I was unable to even eat it. I ordered chicken enchiladas the first night & they were pretty bad too. Stay here, don't eat here. I sat for 30 mins today before I finally asked someone to help me... yesterday they put my order in & the kitchen rang the bell 3 or 4 times & no one ever went to get it, so I finally did & no one even noticed. I stayed with family member while they got bariatric surgery. They let us check in early at 1030am and they front desk and concierge spoke fluent English. Restaurant is good and complimentary breakfast has a lot of options, but no liquid creamer for coffee. There is no pool and it's a $20 about 20 minute drive to the beach. There is a shopping center with great restaurants across from hotel, a spa Zense that's amazing kitty corner from hotel, and large super market to buy snacks, water, viagra, liquor, and normal groceries. Location was excellent only downstate was no pool! Room was clean and had a fridge, safe, smart tv had Netflix, coffee pot, and normal hotel room that you'd expect from Hyatt brand. They checked on us in the morning to make sure we were okay and thier continental breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. I am loving the New Hyatt Corporation. This is the second Hyatt Hotel I stayed at and absolutely love it. The corporation outdid themselves with very new, clean hotels at a very affordable price range (so far...lol). The design and décor are almost exactly alike at the one I stayed at by L.A.X. and the one here in TJ, Mexico. I love coming over the border and driving over the coast and have stayed in Puerto Nuevo, Rosarito, and Ensenada so we are away from the city and close to the beach. But unfortunately the hotels out there are usually old and run down even if it is a 4 or 5 stars hotel. I am a hotel snob and do need to feel safe, comfortable, and clean at one. Hyatt is comfortable, clean, chic, and stylish place to stay at. The room has a small living room area with a long couch and coffee table for your relaxation and an office work space with a table and chair. Towards the back is a separate sleeping area with the comfy bed. They have free Wi-Fi and an office area in the lobby with computers and printer. They also have a cocktail/coffee bar/ kitchen dining area in the lobby and in the morning it includes free continental breakfast at the kitchen. The hotel is located on Agua Caliente Blvd. (which is a busy city street) 10 minutes from the border and walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants and shopping. We felt safe at night and definitely very cozy, comfortable, and relaxed which is the main purpose of our trip. read more

The hotel is very clean, staff is friendly, the rooms are large and modern, and the breakfast is delicious in the morning. I stay here for business, very clean and well kept. The rooms are always very clean and comfortable. The complementary Buffett is very good, they offer an assortment of made hot food, various juices, yogurt and fruit. The hotel is across the street from a nice shopping mall with excellent restaurants, the parking is underground and very secure- they have a guard 24/7. Probably the first hotel I've been to where I cleaned upon entering with my Clorox wipes and the wipes looked just as white afterwards as it did before I used them. The staff is very nice and the complimentary breakfast is decent. People who complain about the breakfast not having this or that can easily purchase specific items from local restaurants on ubereats and they'll be delivered in no time. I ordered Starbucks and it was here even before the estimated time. No there is no microwave in the room but guess what, you can request it. Just call the front desk as you would if you needed extra pillows or an extra blanket, they're more than accommodating and very fast with results. I loved the walk in showers and the very very frosted glass door to the bathroom. There is no way you can see through the bathroom glass door unless you have some X-men super power vision. If you do, awesome to you, but for the rest of us "regular" people...you're more than fine and have adequate privacy. I can't even believe people really held back a star bc the hotel didn't have a pool. You can tell what amenities are included at a hotel before booking. It's 2021, everything is online. Again, the room was very clean, cleaner than any hotel I've stayed at in NYC, Boston, North Carolina...you get the idea. And the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Go, have fun, and be respectful, remember you and your country (if you're from the states) is not the golden standard for how things "should be" or "are". read more

We came down for medical reasons and were absolutely blown away by the hospitality of hotel staff while partnered with the Mexico Bariatric Center team. It's a beautiful, new hotel in a great location. When money is no object, this is a go-to spot. Rooms feel like a high-end USA hotel. Friendly, English-speaking staff and free parking in a secure underground lot. Comfy beds. However, Very Expensive for TJ - twice the price of the Tijuana Grand or the Holiday Inn. And for $10, the breakfast buffet is a little lacking. 200 pesos will buy you a helluva breakfast in Tijuana, so the Hyatt either needs to lower the price, or up their game with eggs to order, waffles, etc. So - when I just need a place to crash after a drunken Xolos game, I will seek lodging elsewhere. If I''m on a date and need to impress or just want to be pampered, then I will opt for the Hyatt. read more

I am normally not a Hyatt person but when in Tijuana this is a really good hotel, and the breakfast buffet is awesome, lots of hot meals and breads, fruits and some very exotic juices, plus it's close to where I work when I travel, the people that work here are very nice helpful and bilingual great place to stay at. read more

I received excellent service, a very clean room, comfortable accommodations, plenty of places to plug in and charge my devices, lots of comfy pillows, and nice corner seating area, very good breakfast buffet, and friendly efficient service. I have some laundry to do and sent it to the laundry service which is reasonable priced considering it's a hotel, and my laundry was delivered clean and nicely folded by 5 PM the same day. There is no pool, parking is underground and designed for smaller cars. Well there was a lot of traffic outside, the room is well insulated so traffic noise does not interrupt your sleep. My experience at the Hyatt place was excellent overall. I recommend it. read more

One of the staff members (I think his name is Erick) had his chonies in a bunch because his girlfriend dumped him (that's what I heard from other staff) so he was rude and unfriendly! LEAVE YOUR PERSONAL PROBLEMS AT HOME!!! Customers do NOT deserve to be treated coldly because you got dumped! I came to this hotel with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff was friendly upon arrival and got me in 2 hrs early to my room on the 6th floor. The room had a nice large king bed and a small partition seperating it from the couch. Breakfast was quite good, and included omlettes and plenty of side dishes. They also let me check out at 1 pm. Very noisy place! One side on busy street and other side where our room was facing construction site ALL night long. We could not sleep. They left one set of earplugs in the room (as if the other person doesn't need them) but that wasn't enough to block the noise. It was expensive. On top of that I forgot my pajama pants and I called the hotel before my friends checked out the next day to bring them for me. They didn't. I called the hotel the next day I was told housekeeping did not find my pajama pants. That's a lie because I remember leaving them inside the blanket. Had a wonderful stay this past week. A total of 4 Nights while visiting family in Tijuana. Locations very central to everything we were doing and the rooms were nice and clean. We stayed from Jan 26-29 and checked back in for one night on the 31st. I will say the first three nights we stayed on the fifth floor and the noise from the businesses across the street is pretty loud in the middle of the night so when we checked in for last night we asked for an opposite room from the main busy street and it was perfect. Also! The breakfast was amazing it's not self serve but it's still Buffet style and someone serves for you, we ate breakfast every single day at the Chilaquiles were amazing my husband and I really loved the food. Pro tip do not take the taxi cabs they call for you they will rip you off take an Uber and offered to pay cash they have that option in Mexico, the Uber was 45 pesos to my grandmas house and the next day the taxi charged us $200 pesos for the same location. I had mixed experience staying 3 nights at this location. The night staff is pretty nice and welcoming . however, couple of folks during the day time - Melissa and another guy can definetely use some training on being more welcoming and smiling to the least when the customers treat them with a smile and hello. I use to dread dealing with the front desk during day time for I had to deal with folks who were literally doing me a favor . The hotel room was - 150$ per night - NO swimming pool and the traffic noise in rooms is insane . I originally was on 4th floor then got it changed to 6th floor to only make the noise situation worse. The breakfast in the morning is great and the servers with the breakfast wrrr nice . The other staff definitely needs more training specially given how much Hyatt is charging . read more
