This cookbook was 90% off in their used book room.

I still feel this branch is nothing fancy, but the librarians in the Children's section are the best! Always pleasant. Always helpful. I'd say that 9/10 of the books I was looking were available at this branch without needed to have them delivered from another branch. There is plenty of free parking and it's not super crowded after school. I haven't used the adult section and I don't know what services they offer, such as computers for Internet access. They have a decent-sized used book store. Some are donated books, and they are super cheap; $0.25 for children's paperbacks. I bought a book about idioms that I was contemplated buying from Barnes and Noble last year - for a quarter! You pay using the honor system, which I hope brings in money for my new favorite library.

No these children aren't being abducted by a UFO, they're returning books to the Hyattsville library..!

Hyattsville library is a curiosity shop. The space satellite in front, bookstore at prices you might think you were confused with someone wearing a ski mask, a cavern stocked with movies, and books of such currency that you wouldn't expect in a building so old. A few of the employees could look like they could be characters in an indie movie, but I digress... This library won't win any beauty contests that's for sure, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do in its own charming way... It's authentic.

Staff is so friendly ! They've relocated for the time being. You can find them in the America blvd. Near the movie theater. It's always been a great place that's tucked away in the corner. Has a quad and surrounding restaurants for when you get hungry. Recently visited and unfortunately was a witness to a women being robbed by a young man. So please it should go with out being said but please always watch your stuff!

None of the staff members are friendly. The only plus for me is, this is a huge library, and it's well stocked. Make sure you have your own computer, waiting to use a public one, takes forever.

The famous ceiling is every bit as impressive as the photos, and it's worth taking your time to admire the architecture. Be sure to check out the rotating exhibits as well. I thought the two Georges were well done. Also enjoyed seeing actual books from Jefferson's library. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. If you're visiting Washington, DC, this is definitely a place I'd recommend, especially if you're already exploring Capitol Hill. It's an easy walk to Navy Yard if you're planning to spend time there afterward.

This is a brilliant date night or a fantastic group activity. You can eat or drink. You can explore a rotating exhibit, the gift shop, and Jefferson's bookshelf. Do know you need to reserve a spot online in advance to get your free tickets, but it's super easy to do on their website. They offer other free events that are worth exploring too!

From the outside, the building looks a bit dated... but that's the vibe of the entire community, haha. The inside is nice! It has everything you'd want -- meeting rooms, silence that you could hear a pen drop, COVID-19 take-home test kits, chairs for reading, and of course books on books on books! I haven't checked one out yet (I have my own backlog as is), but they have quite the selection! It's convenient only being 5 minutes from my house. I can't really compare it to others, but it has everything I need!

Since I had time to spare, I thought I would update my library account and look for a book. Dude at the front desk was nice. He updating my account easily so that was quick and cool. I walked around, kicking myself that I didn't bring my phone charger and lo! There was free charging station! Clutch!!!! Two Stars! Next, I thought I would look for the book I needed. An Eric Foner book. Not the most popular read but, lo and behold 'twas on the shelf!!!! Kill!! Three stars. So I continued to kill time reading about Historic Greenbelt, there was a display for that. I went to one of the self-checkout machines, I saw two, checked my book out and went to find the restroom. Four Stars with the self-checkout. On my way to the restroom I saw this box for donating eye glasses. I loved that for obvious reasons so add another star to my review and that's 5 but, with the men's restroom out of order on election day 2018, I deducted a star. So, I had a good time at the Greenbelt Library. I got more done than I needed and more than I expected. Good stuff, good stuff.
