The room was "small" compared to American standards, especially the bathroom, but it was spacious and clean compared to European standards! The bed and pillows were super soft and comfy, and the only thing that I was really missing was a safe. The cost for two nights was like staying at a decent hotel in NYC, but the service and cleanliness were well worth it for a stay in the heart of London. I also felt very safe walking in the nearby neighborhoods (near Hyde Park) at night.

The area is super quiet and safe, with both High Street Kensington and Notting Hill Gate underground stations within easy walking distance. You can ride the Piccadilly underground line from Heathrow Airport, make one transfer at Earl's Court onto the District Line for Edgeware Road, then get off at the High Street Kensington stop and walk over the the hotel. To begin, the staff at this hotel are phenomenal! When we checked in we were greeted by lovely doormen who helped us with our bags (and helped us get taxis throughout our stay). Upon check-in we realized that we accidentally booked the wrong checkout day... but the receptionists were able to extend our stay easily and without us having to move rooms which was a huge relief! The receptionists were very welcoming and were kind enough to give us a tour of the hotel before showing us to our room where they explained how to work the tv and air conditioning. It was so nice to get the lay of the land and feel confident getting to the gym, the bar, or to breakfast in the morning! Everyone we encountered was incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. Our room was beautiful! We had a giant window facing a beautiful park that let in tons of natural light. We visited in July and were extremely happy to find that our air conditioning worked WELL! This was something we were both worried about beforehand. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the blackout curtains were perfect for sleeping in! We both loved the complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - it smelled fantastic and felt very high quality (I'm very picky on my shampoo and conditioner). The hair dryer was also very powerful and high quality which I find is not usually the case in hotels (people with long hair will understand). We had turn down service every evening which was amazing to come back to after a dinner out. What we probably loved the most and what's something I've never seen at a hotel before was the cold plunge! My fiance loves cryotherapy, ice baths, cold plunges and all of those types of things and was ecstatic! I prefer the heat and loved the sauna. The gym was very clean and had everything necessary for a good workout. It even included a swim spa style pool for lap swimming! The amenities at this hotel were just incredible! There is always a smoothie and juice of the day and a variety of treats (muffins, toast, etc) to start off... the blueberry and chocolate muffins were to die for! My fiance and I both had and loved the avocado toast with poached eggs as well as the omelette. While we didn't eat dinner at the hotel, we had drinks and snacks at The Stable Bar - cheese toasties, club sandwich, etc. and they were incredible! The Stable Bar was once an actual stable and was absolutely gorgeous and unique (I loved the horse themed artwork and took many pictures). The bartenders were both so sweet - one of my friends was talking about how he was going to Romania the next morning and the bartender gave him a handwritten list of recommendations for his trip! As a sometimes lone traveler, a hotel made sense for safety, but I was surprised and pleased with this small boutique hotel. Rooms are gonna be tiny in London for the $$, so plan accordingly. I stayed in a Classic King room which was comfy but had very little space to circulate. I was concerned being on a busy street/Cromwell, but because of the *double windows* (interior ones opens up/down), it was joyfully quiet, just a whisper of car noise. It's something I wish more places in the US had, especially when you face noisy streets. I realize second windows are usually for the cold, but street noises can be pervasive and affect every day life. I slept very well, every night. A couple of stand out staff members: -the front desk manager on my arrival had some hot early gray tea delivered since I survived a 10+ hour trip (little sleep), so it was a nice way to wake up. Also, some biscuits were delivered later. -staff member who brought up my suitcase, my tea, and helped get a requested small refrigerator into my room. -two front desk people (woman then a man), helped me figure out how to get from the hotel to Paddington for a early morning flight. The gentleman called to request a black cab since the Tube wasn't open and he went out with me to greet the cab driver and help me with my bag. -Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The location was also good. I didn't want to be in the thick of tourists, so staying in South Kensington worked for me. The tube stations (Earl's Court and Gloucester Road stations) were about 8-10 minute walk). Thank you for making my stay in London comfortable and enjoyable.

The Highlights The experience is built around science themed trays filled with a mix of sweet and savory items. The kids immediately locked into the interactive elements, especially the build your own strawberry lemonade with different colored syrups, which turned into more of a mini experiment than just a drink. They also had cake pops, scones, and small PB and J sandwiches, all very approachable and fun. One of the better touches was a small take home item, a dinosaur themed tin, which the kids treated like a prize from the experience. The savory sandwiches were our favorite. The scones were very good with fun toppings to try on your jam and cream. The sweets were just okay. The macarons were the best part of the sweets and they were half-dissolved because of a server mishap with the fun smoke effect. It was a fun one-time experience for our family.
