Great place! My teenaged son was in heaven. If you're a vinyl connoisseur and near Chicago, this is a must!

store owner (rudest man on earth)

PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE (unless they change owners) this man is extremely rude, and a horrible person. im at a loss of words from my experience at this store. i was kicked out for browsing the store. i was nothing but polite and respectful to the owner, and he snatched something out of my hands that was not labeled (do not touch) or (not for sale) and kicked me out. i asked a coworker (who turned out to be his son) if he owned the place and he reluctantly said yes. the owner said "haha you can't escalate it" i told the owner that i was a regular customer, and that my family was as well, and he replied i don't care. and put his hands on me in an attempt to remove me from the store. mind you this was all because i looked at a book that was not for sale, yet it was not labeled. please do not support this establishment.

Have tons of old school records and cd's. Takes you back when you were younger when music had sooooo much more meaningful lyrics

We ventured to Bridgeport and we were lucky to find them open. I love finding stores like this because you have the opportunity to dig for the gems. The staff at Let's Boogie has been working dilligently to get the store more organized, and the items priced. There is stuff everywhere, from vintage vinyl, CD'S, tapes, DVDS and even VHS. They are still actively buying and getting new sealed albums also. I found a bunch of stuff I didn't know I was looking, and a few I left behind because I was over my budget. Prices are comparable to what you would find on Discogs but you may be able to work something out with the owner. Enjoy!! I know I did, and will definitely hit this spot again when I'm back in Chicago.

My fiancé and I strolled in one afternoon and so happy we did. Let's Boogie has a great selection of rock, jazz, blues, new wave, house and dance records. We picked a bunch at reasonable prices too. When we were ready to check out, we met Jason who runs the store. He showed us old family photos of the store through the years. This is definitely a Bridgeport staple so it's great to see a new generation of customers coming though. I'll definitely make it a Saturday tradition to visit Let's Boogie!

The selection is not too bad, considering they are recovering from a flood. There are so many titles and a vast array of topics available. I found some classics, fiction, a wonderful selection in their non-fiction area, and translated books. They also provide you with lists of books that have won prizes or coincide with different regions in the USA and the world! I thought that was very helpful. It's a medium-sized store, but their displays are quite prominent. Everything is easy to grab (no ladders or staff needed to get to the high books). All the areas are labeled and it's visually pleasing. The staff was nice, too. Checkout was easy and they were friendly. Prices are standard of paperbacks and hardcovers. You are paying for an indie bookseller (I paid about $40 for two books, which includes tax). I wasn't at all disappointed with the price. They also have a loyalty program for those that are regulars. I really am happy I checked out this spot. It was beautiful and friendly. There was a lot of books and totes to chose from, it was hard not to leave with more in my bag!

Now I started going through books in April 2020, but wasn't keen on interacting with folks, and it took until February 2022 for me to feel comfortable contacting them for pickup. They are experiencing a backlog at the moment--I submitted the pickup form in February, was contacted around March 30, and they came to my area April 19--but I've had these books hanging around for literal years waiting to be donated so a few more weeks was no big deal to me; I mention it only so that if you're on the fence you know to get on their list! Pickup was fairly easy. They don't take books in boxes larger than specific dimensions, so we had to pull them out of the boxes they've been in and out them in plastic bags instead. We ended up with 13 bags filled to the brim! There seemed to be a bit of a mixup, in that the Google form I submitted said I'd have 4 boxes and then when they contacted six weeks later to say they'd be in our neighborhood I said 13 bags since the boxes were too big; the person who came for the pickup mentioned a couple times how this was "not four boxes"... I mean, I'm sorry that there's a disconnect on your end? I checked my email to make sure I hadn't misunderstood, but I did indeed respond to the confirmation email to tell them I'd have 13 bags (their mail asked to confirm the pickup amount). So whatever administrative issue there is where they don't accurately update is annoying but not a problem if my making, and anyway she took them all. I'll definitely continue donating books here or the library (if the library takes books), but probably will take them to one of their drop boxes in the future if I use Open Books. That's in part because I don't want to deal with the kind of weird, somewhat annoyed an hostile attitude from the pickup person, but mostly because I probably won't have a pickup this large again in the future and don't want to have to wait 6-8 weeks for the pickup.
