This place used to be my favorite back when Mollie worked here. Julia is also amazing. I always hope I get her. Both of them NEVER had an issue finding my veins and getting the IV in painlessly on the first try, even when I was dehydrated or getting over the flu. Dr. Kermen also did mine once with zero issues or pain. The only issues I've had here are with the new people who I rarely or have never seen before. Allie had a hard time a while back and had to stick me a couple times. I have probably had 20 IVs between different clinics over the last 4 years, so this is nothing new to me. Today, I went in, and immediately realized the one nurse in here I had never seen before, James. I immediately got anxiety bc I didn't know how it was going to go. He stuck me TWICE in two veins on two different arms that people typically don't struggle with, and had to end up texting another nurse to come in on her day off to see if she could take a look. That nurse was Alicia. After looking me over, she tried a third time and nope, still couldn't get it. While she was looking me over, James was working on another client and couldn't get his in either and needed Alicia to come try that client too! At that point I decided I was over it and my anxiety was so bad. I did not want to keep being stuck, so I left and they refunded me and I sat in my car after and cried. I have a lot of anxiety every time I come in that it's going to hurt, and with Julia, my fears are always taken away, and I feel amazing after. This experience was so terrible IDK if I'll ever be ready to come back here or try another IV any time soon. I'm so bummed. read more

Got the flu Monday, have been unable to work, sleep, eat or drink water for the past 4 days. Googled IV clinics and booked an appt online. Didn't feel an immediate difference the second it was done, but it's been about 2 hours and I'm hungry again, ate and kept food down and am feeling way more cognitively capable! Definitely seems to have worked (I chose the "everything" IV bag). Overall, I'm really happy I found this place. Dr. John and Nurse Julia were both super helpful and informative as well as kind people. I booked another appt for pre-op in July with some modifications based on what Dr John suggested! I'd definitely recommend adding in a little extra time due to staffing limitations that's also hitting most businesses. Overall, love this place. read more

My IV Therapy buddy, I like to call him my faux son-in-law, and I both visited Hydration Happens downtown late on 8/12/2022 to receive infusions. We chose 'The Wildcat' off the menu of options, which is filled with good stuff, plus a B-12 shot. He also got a Toradol shot to get some intervention from his horrible back pain. The shot gave my IV buddy some much needed relief within about 40 minutes! The facility is in a great location at 3rd & Wall. And the ambience is relaxing with a water-themed decor and you will recognize lots of local Chico 'water' spots in the art work on display. We were monitored closely and the recliners were comfy and we were offered cups of water. For the prep it is easy to fill out the appropriate forms online from your phones and you get a text reminder about your appointment. We had the pleasure of being served by none other than one of the owners, Mollie Macarthy- Openshaw, who hustled to assist five people there, us plus three others. If I had to describe the whole experience in a word: "Graceful." Between allergy season, some intense days at work, and heading to the gym, I needed a boost! I had the opportunity to stop in at Hydration Happens, and it was fantastic. The environment, is really nice, super comfortable, and very professional. The IV therapy itself was incredibly effective, leaving me energized and feeling wayyy better. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of needles, but I was totally put at ease with the peaceful environment and the nurse. Even the little details like the peaceful music, the fountains, and nice decor really calmed me down. Plus, the nurse was super knowledgeable and friendly. She made what looks to be a very complicated process, quite easy and, and felt really top-notch. So glad Hydration Happens is offering so many services. People should do it more especially since this is exactly what you'll get if you feel like crap and decided to go to the hospital. It cost around $75-$150 but worth every cent for your well-being. I'm a chronic pain sufferer of sorts - two car accidents 10+ years ago left me with intermittent migraine level headaches that are best resolved with a Toradol shot and a nap. So when I found out that Hydration Happens offers Toradol shots for $39, with no ridiculous wait time at prompt care like I usually endure... I was super intrigued. The spa was super inviting. Mollie was very welcoming, found all my information in her system (you do have to provide some medical history as it is technically a medication, but the paperwork is all electronic and pretty quick!) and was genuinely concerned that I felt better. She even followed up with me by text a few hours later, making sure I was on the mend. I definitely recommend this place, especially for those who are like me, know exactly what they need to get a headache sorted out, but are tired of the hassle of dealing with insurance or with lengthy doctor visit waits. Got a mild case of rhabdomyolysis from complications from COVID-19 plus returning back to work too early and the gym, I felt much better after the IV session. I had the Annie's Little Helper w/ B12, I probably could have used round 2 with the Wild cat because rhabdomyolysis has the worst dehydration you possibly can get. Gym and CrossFit rats would benefit a lot from the IV choice's, not just hung over people. Once I fully heal and get cleared to return the gym I will come back for the Wild Cat or The Bidwell Bag. read more
