    Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Bad Plumber, whose name is Edwin, completely botched a bathtub install. The miserable lying…read moresellers, whom I do not wish well, had removed the tub drain so that only the shower could be used. When I took a bath, the reason became obvious: the tub drained into the living room. The large volume of water was too much for the leaking pipes. ARRRRRGGGGHHH. So I replaced the tub with a bigger, deeper tub, and hired Bad Plumber to install it. He claimed that he repaired the leaking pipe. That was a lie. I took a bath, and it leaked again. Bad Plumber said that he would fix it. He did not return. So I called Roto-Rooter, because they guarantee their work. And they're a well-known company. Mike showed up on time. Gave me an estimate. It wasn't too bad. THEN he claimed that he needed a helper to thread a pipe through the ceiling, and no I couldn't do it. The other guy was going to cost an additional $450. UGH. For HOLDING A PIPE. He also insisted on replacing the bath fixtures. More money. Smh. They were brand new. So Mike did fix the leak. Months later, it's still holding up. But...he didn't want to replace the Sheetrock he cut out of the living room ceiling. He was going to just leave me WITH A LARGE HOLE IN MY LIVING ROOM CEILING. I told him that was unacceptable. He told me he's not a "drywall guy." I insisted he replace it, and he did, begrudgingly. He removed three panels from the bathroom wall, and didn't replace them, because "he's not a carpenter." They're still loose, because I can't quite get them back in. He left the old pipes and debris LYING ON MY DECK AND THE GRASS. I guess he's "not a garbage man" either. I should not have to clean up after a "professional," but I did. So....plumbing work: Excellent. No complaints. Mess left behind, extra helper nonsense, and sulking over the ceiling: Poor.

I cannot say enough good things about Rapid Restoration in Plainview. After a broken central air…read moreconditioning unit in my attic caused a major flood in my home, I had no idea who to call or who I could trust. There are a lot of restoration companies out there, and in a very stressful situation, I feel extremely fortunate that I chose Rapid Restoration. They responded within just a couple of hours of my initial call, immediately stopped the damage from getting worse, and began drying out my home to prevent mold and further problems. From there, they handled everything. They removed all of the water-damaged materials and then rebuilt my home beautifully--ceilings, walls, insulation, electrical work, painting, flooring, and more. It truly was a one-stop shop, and the finished work was actually better than what I had before the flood. A special thank you goes to Mike, the foreman who oversaw the entire project. Mike was outstanding from beginning to end. He stayed in constant contact with me, often speaking with me every day, worked tirelessly to keep the job moving, and made sure everything was completed properly and on time. He was professional, responsive, knowledgeable, and clearly took personal pride in the quality of the work. At every stage, I felt like Mike was personally invested not only in the project, but in making sure I was happy and that as much stress as possible was taken off my shoulders. The entire Rapid Restoration team treated my home and belongings with tremendous care. They carefully covered and moved my personal property to make sure nothing was damaged, and they cleaned up at the end of each day as though they were working in their own homes. Even though Rapid Restoration is a large company with multiple crews and specialists, they never lost the personal touch. Even the owner of the company called me periodically to provide updates and make sure I was being taken care of on every level. They also went far beyond the physical restoration of my home. They helped take the burden of dealing with the insurance company off my shoulders by assisting with estimates, photographs, documentation, paperwork, and securing payment for the work. That was an enormous help during an already overwhelming situation. What impressed me most was that Rapid Restoration clearly takes pride in its work and operates with integrity. They are professional, ethical, responsive, and committed to doing things the right way. You can tell that they have a strong set of core values and that customer satisfaction genuinely matters to them. When this happened, I did not know who to trust. I got lucky and picked the right company. If you ever find yourself needing emergency water damage restoration or home repairs, I would recommend Rapid Restoration without hesitation. They turned what could have been a nightmare into a manageable process and restored my home beautifully.

Carine Chem-Dry - carpet cleaning in Suffolk County

Carine Chem-Dry is amazing!…read more My mother in law Judy with dementia came to stay with us a few weeks ago. We were on our way back from the Nova Constellatio Gallery and we needed to stop for some gas. She went inside and bought some sushi to eat on the way home. This story just goes downhill from here: About 20 minutes after getting home, Judy (in a terrible state of agnosia) mistakes our new leather sectional for a toilet and let loose with a volcanic avalanche of diarrhea all over our beautiful living room. My wife just happened to walk in while this was happening and began to violently vomit all over herself and our new cashmere carpet. I went downstairs to see what the commotion was and slipped on my wife's vomit and hit my head on the end table, knocking my self unconscious and bleeding all over the floor. While all this was happening, our sewer line backed up and all our toilets were overflowing with raw sewage which ran all the down the hallways of our beautiful mansion. As you can imagine, this was not a mess that any of us wanted to clean up. Also, being millionaires living in the Hamptons means we have a reputation to uphold. We couldn't just call anyone to clean up this mess. That's why we called Carine Chem dry. I can tell you that Jesus H Christ himself isn't capable of the miracles that this man worked. They were able to remove all the awful stains and smells that body fluids are known to leave behind. They were detailed, thorough and discreet. Our floors have never been this clean and I wouldn't trust anyone else to clean our house. They are worth every penny! In case any of you were wondering we sent Judy to live in a home for the elderly in Riverhead.

I hired this company for emergency fire damage restoration and would urge anyone considering them…read moreto get a detailed, written quote first -- they would not provide one upfront. Response times were a serious problem throughout: it took many hours to secure the property after the fire and several days to send someone for the damage evaluation. Every subsequent step moved at the same, painfully slow pace. When they did secure the property, they used a different code/method than what they'd told us, and changed it without notifying us -- leaving us in the dark about how our own property was protected. The billing was the most troubling part. We were never given an upfront quote, and they did not disclose that they would be charging $35/hour per man for unskilled labor. For four men on site one day, that math comes out to roughly $1,100. The invoice we received was $5,000. I followed up directly with the company about these issues numerous times before posting this review. Their response was to call my concerns "uneducated" rather than address the pricing discrepancy or the unauthorized change to how our property was secured. If you're dealing with fire or water damage: get competing quotes in writing, and go with someone else.
