We just went there last weekend to see Jeremy Jordan, a show I'd been waiting to see for months. During intermission, I was waiting in line for the ladies room & had on wedge heels, causing me to roll my ankle. Which usually would be no big deal, but I also dislocated my knee cap. Within 30 seconds 3 ushers appeared wanting to know how they could help, as I sat there crying "I don't know but I'm NOT missing the end of the show! The hospital will be open when the show is over!" These amazing ladies, who I wish I knew their names to thank individually, literally ran and got me a wheelchair & wheeled me into an accessible seat for the remainder of the show & I didn't even miss a single song! Thank you to those wonderful ushers who helped me. read more

Great shows; especially, the children actors. We enjoyed the wizard of oz. The young actors are amazing.

So, I've been to the Hylton Performing Arts Center twice. Each time the performances were exceptional! The first time, I came to see the play "Sistas the Musical". From the voices, to the acting, to the plot, I was highly impressed. The second time, I went to see Philadanco, which was draw dropping goodt! Those dancers were mad talented. The raw talent mixed with the powerful/energetic movements, comingled with the music/beat... easily a 10 out of 5 show! I will definitely be back! read more

Came here to watch The Nutcracker. We had so much fun! There is plenty of free parking at the arts center. The Orchestra and dancers were wonderful. The costumes, make up, lighting, stage design were all on point. Everyone did an amazing job to make this a beautiful experience for the audience. Employees around the center are very friendly and helpful. I'm so glad G introduced us to this place. My cousins, B, and I loved the show. I can't wait to come back and watch many more performances! read more

I went here recently to see the Nutcracker for Christmas. The auditorium is decked out in red/red velvet. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house - view wise. Seat comfort is alright, they're a little bit on the hard/stiff side. I believe there are three levels of seating here and the acoustics seem pretty good. The volume for the orchestra wasn't very loud. I prefer not to hear each foot step made by the ballet dancers. The parking isn't too bad. For this particular performance (3pm), the majority of the main lot was full, but there were still some available spots in the last rows. I didn't get to see the concessions up close, but I did see vending of water and some snacks like chips and cookies. None of it's allowed in the auditorium though. There is also artwork on display from locals/students that are hanging around the center for your viewing pleasure. Other than that, it's a great venue and I look forward to attending other performances here. read more

Great venue, beautiful theaters, large but not cavernous lobby, large clean bathrooms. Plenty of close parking, easy access to large roads. Only critique is that website is hard to use and wouldn't take my credit card so I had to call to get tickets. read more

I have attended many performances there and have enjoyed each and every time I've been there.

Very unaccommodating to families with small infants with strollers. My son has a fever and is up past his bedtime an hour away from his home just to hear his Papa sing in the Manassas Chorale during his first Christmas season and the ushers and box office would not allow us to use the open handicap seat for the stroller so he could eventually fall asleep. Nice Christmas spirit....very sad for him and my Father in Law. read more

I really like the Hylton Performing Arts Center. I have had the privilege of conducting on the stage three times now through my job. The concert hall is great. The staff have been accommodating to the needs of my ensemble. The rehearsal room is a great room. The stage itself is beautiful and even my ensemble of around 40 students can fill the hall. It's a great stage to perform. read more

Buy your tickets online and save the frustration!!!! Please be aware of a $12.00 processing fee added to your purchasing 3 or more events for their 2018-2019 season. They give you a 10% discount but still charge a processing fee. I thought going to the Hylton Center personally would save me time and money. Was I wrong!! It took 3 people to process my 5 events and over 30 minutes of waiting and confusion. I was the only person in line!!!! The employees/volunteers were disorganized and distracted with phone calls while I had to wait. My best advice- either call the Hylton directly to purchase tickets or use the online order form on their website. It would have saved me time and been a lot less frustrating. read more

The Hylton center is brand new and stunning. I've been to two Manassas Chorale performances and they were both amazing. It's also a much nicer drive than anywhere in DC. read more

Wow, this place was an awesome surprise. I was looking around for something to do with the kids this weekend and came across a production of The Wizard of Oz here. It's a bit of a hike from Arlington, but decided it was worth a try and we were not at all disappointed. The place is beautiful and huge. It was pretty full for this show, but you would not know it. It is very professionally run. The production value was on par with things at the Kennedy Center. The set design, the lighting, the orchestra were all very professional. At $12 for adults and $10 for kids, you can't beat it. The kids were excited too. They loved the show and looked ahead in the schedule and they are already talking about going again in the Spring. I would definitely stay on top of the schedule here and come back for sure. read more

This review concerns the relatively new Hylton Performing Arts Center website. I'd love to check out availability and prices for a couple of the performances, but the "Event Schedule" and the ticket options are not functional on the website. The venue is setting itself up for failure from its initial stages and is is doing the same for the Resident Arts Partners. It just isn't worth working through the frustration of trying to obtain tickets from the Hylton Performing Arts Center website when there are so many top notch alternatives available to the Northern Virginia residents. read more

Attended several times, to include: Handel's' "Messiah" and "The Nutcracker", Manassas Ballet's "Nutcracker" Performance, choral and other concerts, a Celtic event...never disappoints. Beautiful venue and well staffed. The venue has improved its ability to review performance and seating (advance) over the years. Great location...nice alternative to many of our trips into DC and other parts of Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland. The acoustics are fantastic and whether you are seated Orchestra or Mezzanine, the seats have been great! read more

Had a great time at the Nutcracker last year, can't wait to attend an event this Holiday Season. The interior is beautiful, not a bad seat in the house, very comfortable. I do hope they start offering more stand up comedy acts as I think that will offer something that other Northern Virginia Venues do not have. Also, I would like to see intimate performances by Country Music acts, such as Dwight Yoakam. read more

My daughter and I just came back from a performance of the Nutcracker at the Hylton Performing Arts Center and we loved it. What a beautiful place and so convenient and easy to get too. Lots of parking and ease of access from the highway. Inside was lovely and spacious. The performance was great and handled very professionally. I will definitely be returning! read more
