I love that "twilight" starts at 3pm on weekends - we play 18 holes for $20 plus the cart fees, best deal in town. Recently, they added a new driving range and putt putt center. The driving range is beautiful, has a huge chipping / bunker complex and putting green. Definitely a first-class set up. Playing golf at Jester is great, the greens are in good shape, the bunkers are nice for a public course and the layout is challenging. There are 18 holes plus a par-3 nine-hole course. Both courses have plenty of tee box varieties, the grey tees plays to a slope of about 120. The carts are modern and have GPS, there is a clubhouse with food and beverages - plus the beverage cart is well stocked. Jester is the perfect place for a casual round for those looking for a nice course layout and reasonable green fees. I have played here several years and the greens are normally in great shape.

Like many newer courses, it is laid out with a buncha new homes,so some of the holes are really a hike from the green to next tee. Get a cart! Speaking of carts, they have a "big brother" feature where if you are too close to the green or a trap, the power is cut. That's right mr off-roader, you are stopped by technology and have to back straight out til you reach the proper area. This shudda been invented 20 years ago, but it's nice. Not many trees to worry about....come back in 80 years for that. The pro shop guys are super nice and the starter was a kind man as well. That's Iowa for ya! So, we played as a twosome and while I was playing TCI slapped me with an $85 dollar charge for the third player not showing up. I realize now that is the policy they have but that's ridiculous. Other courses have single players play with you or just let it go because that simply happens sometimes. When you make a tee time with this place the first thing they want to know is your credit card info. I am 69 years old and I have played golf hundreds of times and this has never ever happened. TCI is way too expensive for what you get and way, way out of line with other courses in the area. My foursome of golf buddies will never play there ever. This is just ridiculous beyond ridiculous. I was wondering why TCI had plenty of tee times and now I know why. I wish I could give zero stars but one star is the lowest.

I found The Tournament Club and booked a tee time for 1:00 on Thursday May 21, 2026. Unfortunately, we ran into traffic and construction on I-80 Thursday morning, and we were not going to make our 1:00 tee time. So, I called and cancelled knowing there was a 24-hour cancellation policy. But I explained the situation to the pro shop, and he said he would plead my case to the General Manager so we wouldn't get charged $140 for not showing up. Well, they charged us for not showing up even though it was an unforeseen circumstance. I called back and asked to speak with General Manager Steven Kahler (sp) they took my number and said they would have him call me. I did not receive a call back. I called again and left a message on his personal answering machine and still did not receive a call back. I can understand charging people if they are local and just don't show up for tee times. I also looked at the afternoon tee times that day and it was wide open, so we didn't take up a tee time for someone else. For the GM to not give me a call back is a really bad look for this golf course. At least offer a rain check for another time. Because we make that drive a few times a year to see family.
